Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is dumping your stress on him, because he cares for you

“I just don’t know how much longer I can go on,” said Tony. He paused for effect while his doctor waited patiently for him to continue. “It seems I can never make my boss happy; he is always attacking me. And I never see my wife these days. Her job takes her away from home so much. And then there’s our finance… they’re in a mess. I just want to quit! What should I do?” Tony’s doctor began scribbling out a script as he tried as best he could to console his patient. Tony was a victim of one of the pandemics that affect most people these days – stress.

I think Jesus new about stress. We often read of him taking time out by himself to rest and recharge his physical batteries. (One thing we tend to forget about Jesus the Son of God is he was also as much a human as you and I are.) Work overload and the cares of this life take their toll on the best of us. All too often we so overcommit ourselves or overstretch our commitments that we become useless to those we serve and a danger to ourselves. Jesus was being literally followed by thousands of people every day. Whenever he stepped out of a house or even within its walls the crowds hounded him for healings and miracles. But Jesus knew the importance of care casting. He would regularly withdraw to pray to Father.

Cast all your cares on the Lord, because he cares for you. Your God is a great big God and he will meet all your needs according to his riches in Christ. He is your source and your resource. One of the consequences of stress is a sense of hopelessness. Hopelessness has a horrible habit of becoming increasingly hopeless the more you dwell on it. But there is hope! In fact, the God of hope will fill you with overflowing hope by the supernatural power of his Holy Spirit if you will only turn to him. Jesus knew all that you would be facing today, that is why he said, “Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

So take time out today in prayer to upload your problems to the domain of heaven.

Quote of the Week
A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

“Prayer is releasing the energies of God. For prayer is asking God to do what we cannot do.” --- Charles Trumbull

Don’t Give Up, Look Up!Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus!

Instead of stressing out I choose to retreat to a quiet place and put my hope in you.

Pray:
“Dear Father, I feel so overloaded today. It feels like the whole world is closing in on me. Help me to deal with my responsibilities and my work load. Forgive me for taking all this stress upon myself. I choose now, therefore, to cast my cares upon you. I offload my worries about money, my concerns for health and the cares of my family upon your shoulders. I know that you love me and that you are very capable of helping me deal with all these issues. Instead of stressing out I choose to retreat to a quiet place and put my hope in you. Amen.”
