We trust Jesus when it’s his plan for us to stop today. And we trust Jesus when it’s his plan to guide our steps for tomorrow.”

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Like most people, I often find myself longing back to those so-called, good ‘ol days. At my age, I have enjoyed not too few wonderful opportunities to share the Good News. I have had the great privilege of broadcasting God’s word on radio for the best part of 30 years. I have led small groups and large groups. I have enjoyed decades of music ministry as a worship leader and have had the honour of pastoring a church for 15 years. All these past years of great ministry privilege have been most fruitful. However, as I write, I tend to find myself reminiscing the good old days, without contemplating the good new days that God might still have ahead for me. Can you relate to this scenario?

Evangelist and Bible teacher, J. John said, “Jesus guides our steps and guides our stops." We often rejoice when new and prosperous opportunities open for us on this path of life. Unfortunately, when these opportunities eventually come to a close, we mope about longing for how things were. Scripture makes it plain; God knows the plans he has for us. His plans are always good and thriving, filled with purpose. In Proverbs, we read that if we acknowledge God in all our ways, then he will direct our life track.

Now, faith is the confidence in things we hope for. We cannot hope for what we already have or what we have previously had. Hope is futuristic. Therefore, we hope that God’s plans and purposes will work out for us today as they have done so in our past. Consequently, we trust Jesus when it’s his plan for us to stop today and we trust Jesus when it’s his plan to guide our steps for tomorrow.

God-tracking is walking in his steps and stops.

“I submit my future to you, O Lord, and have faith that you will fulfil the plans you know you have for me.”

“Dear Father, thank you for the promise in your word that you have plans for my life. I believe you are the God of my yesterday, today and tomorrow. Therefore, I trust your guidance in my life to stop and your guidance in my life to step. I submit my future to you, O Lord, and have faith that you will fulfil the plans you know you have for me. Amen.

He can do exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ask or think, and his riches will meet your needs 100%.”

Ephesians 3:20
Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us

“I was preaching the good news of the healing power of God when a lady shouted out from the back of the church, ‘I can see! I can see!’.” My friend, David, was sharing how a lady was healed of blindness in a service where he preached. Rachel had been blind for almost all her life. After she received her healing, she went to the doctor for a check-up. He confirmed that she had received 80% of her sight back. The church was ecstatic when she shared this the next Sunday. “But,” said David, “God is not the God of the 80%. God is the God of the 100%.” He prayed for her again. A few weeks later she returned to the church to share that she was now blessed with 20/20 vision.

The God that we serve is the God of 100%. When God created the world and everything in it, it was good. God is not a god of the half measure. All that God is and all that God does is perfect and whole. When the Scripture says that we are saved by Christ’s blood and healed by his stripes then we are saved and healed 100%.

Whatever prospects you face today, whatever your need, I stand with you in agreement that the Lord will meet all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. He can do exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ask or think, and his riches will meet your needs 100%.

God-tracking is believing for 100%

Your Bible is your greatest treasure. Don’t rush the reading of the Bible. You have the rest of your life to read the Bible, so read the Bible for the rest of your life.”

Psalm 119:162
I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.

I love watching treasure hunter documentaries on television. They are always filled with intrigue and adventure. We watch as the presenter and his team, metal detector in hand, climb into a deep cave on the hunt for a pirate’s treasure chest loaded with pieces of eight and gold bullion. Sadly, however, they never seem to find the object of the investigation.

However, there is a treasure that you and I can find without scoring the depths of a cave. This treasure is more valuable than gold and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb. It is the auspicious treasure of the word of God.

It is said that when the famous missionary, Dr. David Livingstone, started his trek across Africa he had 73 books in 3 packs, weighing 180 pounds. After the party had gone 300 miles, Livingstone was obliged to throw away some of the books because of the fatigue of those carrying his baggage. As he continued his journey his library grew less and less, until he had but one book left – his Bible.

The Bible is a library of 66 books penned by 36 people over a period of 1,500 years, yet all the writings of these ancient scriptures are in agreement. All scripture is inspired by the One true God. In my 4 decades of following Christ, I have found the Bible to be my greatest guide. However, the holy scriptures of the Bible do not stand alone. The word of God is synonymous with the Spirit of God, for the word of God is the sword of the Spirit. The word confirms the actions of the Spirit while the Spirit activates the word.

Make reading the Bible a daily habit. Your Bible is your greatest treasure. Don’t rush the reading of the Bible. You have the rest of your life to read the Bible, so read the Bible for the rest of your life.

God-tracking is reading the Bible.
