Philippians 4:19
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

God-tracking is praising God today for meeting your needs tomorrow.
We had been living in a rented home for 6 months when our landlord announced that she was selling the house. In vain we searched for a new house to let. A week before we needed to vacate, Karen read the story of Paul and Silas in prison. While praying and praising God at midnight, there was an earthquake. The prison doors flew open, and they were freed. Karen praised God for our new home.

That same night, at midnight, our neighbour knocked on our door and announced she had found a house for us. Just as Paul and Silas were miraculously freed from prison through prayer and praise, so Karen and I miraculously had our need met through prayer and praise.

Whatever need you face tomorrow, believe that he will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches today, and then praise him for answered prayer.

God-tracking is praising God today for meeting your needs tomorrow.

A Sublime Symphony

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Orchestral arrangement involves using an array of instruments organised in such a way as to appropriately interpret the composer’s meaning of the piece. Arranging an orchestral performance of a single score of Beethoven, for instance, requires about 40 instruments to create a symphonic masterpiece.

I’ve discovered that, as I track God’s plans for my life, he composes new stories for me to play upon the strings of daily life. However, sometimes, I find myself confronted with a circumstance where it’s obvious that God was not the original composer. Yet, if I continue to acknowledge him in all my ways, my Father will arrange every nuance of my life to coincide with his sublime symphony.

Author, Stuart Windsor said, “I pondered the way God knits together the often chaotic threads of life to make things happen his way.” Only Jesus can turn your discord into a sublime symphony.

God-tracking is allowing God to orchestrate your life.

Praise is affirmative. Praise is assertive. Praise is prayer accomplished. Praise fixes our gaze beyond the need and says, ‘Job done!’”

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song, I will praise him.

In his book Prison to Praise, Merlin Carothers writes, “I have come to believe that the prayer of praise is the highest form of communion with God and one that always releases a great deal of power into our lives. Praising Him is not something we do because we feel good; rather it is an act of obedience. Often the prayer of praise is done in sheer teeth-gritting willpower; yet when we persist in it, somehow the power of God is released into us and into the situation. At first in a trickle perhaps, but later in a growing stream that finally floods us and washes away the old hurts and scars.”

Praise is affirmative. Praise is assertive. Praise is prayer accomplished. Praise fixes our gaze beyond the need and says, "Job done!" Though you may not see the answer to your need today, your faith is the assurance of that which you hope for. Though now for a little while you may be grieved by various trials, you rejoice in God’s goodness. The genuineness of your faith will be found to praise, honour, and glorify God for your needs met. As Jesus looked beyond the cross and saw himself glorified at the right hand of God, so you look beyond your affliction and see your needs met in Christ. He who promised is faithful!

You may need to praise God through sheer teeth-gritting willpower but praise will see you through. Praising God in hard times can be tough but praise releases the power of God. Therefore, praise is an act of obedience.

God-tracking is praising God for tomorrow’s needs met, today.

“Praise God in my jubilation and praise God in my sorrow.”

“Praise God! Praise God in my jubilation and praise God in my sorrow. Dear Lord, though today I still have needs today, I will obediently praise you for the answer to my prayers. I believe you are already on the other side of my tomorrow where I am saved, delivered and healed. I stand in firm in faith that you are faithful and will meet my needs by your riches in Christ. Hallelujah! Praise you, O Lord! Thank you for answering my prayers. Amen.”

In your presence I have power and love and a sound mind. Your banner over me is love. And your love casts out all fear!”

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Pete woke up in a very low mood. He’d been battling with anxiety and depression for a few years. His company had shut down his department some years back and Pete was paid off. Depression had crept in. He had a new job now and no real reason to be down but he was. A fear had gripped his heart that it might happen again. “Dear Lord,” he cried, “I can’t work out why I’m so down. I know I’m secure but this anxiety keeps gripping me. I have a wife and kids, dear Lord. I need this job.” Glancing down into his Bible the words, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind,” jumped off the page.

Depression and anxiety are pandemic mental illnesses in our day and age. More and more people I talk to are suffering with mental health issues, consumed with fears and worries about their personal security and livelihood, not to mention the state of the world at present. In reality, these conditions are nothing new. People in Jesus’ day faced the same issues. Perhaps this is why he taught, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.”

Pete was encouraged by the words he read and searched further in his handbook of life, the Bible. He read: “He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, to console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” Again, the Holy Spirit quickened God’s word… “A garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness! Yes, that’s what I need. I resist this heaviness in Jesus’ name,” said Pete, “and I don a garment of praise. Praise your name, O Lord! You are holy and you inhabit the praises of your people. Therefore, I know my praise carries your presence. In your presence I have power and love and a sound mind. Your banner over me is love. And your love casts out all fear!” Pete’s low mood melted away. He was filled with the joy of the Lord.

“I choose to NOT give up but to look up and trust the plans you have for my life.”

“Dear Father, praise your name! Hallelujah! I declare your praise in the face of adversity. I rebuke this low mood and call on your name for love, power and sound thinking. Your joy is my strength. I know the devil will do his level best to bring me down through circumstances and depression but I resist him now, in Jesus’ name. Greater are you, O Lord, in me than he who is in the world. I choose to NOT give up but to look up and trust the plans you have for my life. Amen.”

WILLING & OBEDIENTLY LAYING IT ALL DOWN

“God’s call to you and me today is to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to the Lord; to willingly and obediently lay it all down for Jesus.”

Romans 12:1
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

The path was long and steep. Abraham, now over 100 years of age, led his young son up the mountain. Isaac was carrying a stack of firewood and a lit lantern. The old man was sombre and teary-eyed. His God – the God Almighty – had asked him to do the unthinkable, to sacrifice his son to him on the mountain.

On arriving at its peak, Abraham built an altar. “Here’s the fire, Abba, and the wood,” said the boy, “but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” Sobbing, the old man bound his son and raised him to the altar. The boy showed no resistance. He trusted his father. Raising the sharp knife, Abraham was poised to plunge it deep into his son of promise. Just then, he heard, his name being called, “Abraham, Abraham!” Abraham lifted his eyes and looked. Behind him was a ram, caught in a thicket by his horns. On the mount of the Lord, God had provided a lamb for the sacrifice. Abraham worshiped God.

Isaac was Abraham’s living sacrifice. Abraham had heard the call of God to surrender his son – his dreams – to the Lord and obediently followed the call of God. It was Abraham’s obedience that God honoured, because obedience is better than sacrifice. Isaac, Abraham’s living sacrifice, returned home with his father, alive and well. Isaac grew to become the ancestor of Messiah.

God’s call to you and me today is to offer ourselves as living sacrifices to the Lord; to willingly and obediently lay it all down for Jesus. To offer our dreams, our aspirations and hopes to him, as holy sacrifices. Like Abraham, God is calling you and me to obediently let go of our private agendas and ambitions, to willingly sacrifice them on his altar. It is said that it is the altar that sanctifies the sacrifice. As you lay down your dreams on his altar as a living sacrifice, your gracious Lord will provide. He will restore your dreams many times over.

Today, lay it all down and be transformed by the renewal of your mind, to discern the perfect will of God for your life.

God-tracking is a living sacrifice.

DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY

I choose now to let go  of it all and renew my mind that I may find your perfect will for my life.

“O God, Almighty, I come to your altar, in Jesus’ name and willingly offer my life as a living sacrifice. Take all my desires, my aspirations and my ambitions. I choose now to let go of it all and renew my mind that I may find your perfect will for my life. Like Abraham, I offer you my dreams and trust you, O Father, to provide all I need for life and living. Receive my praise as an offering. Amen.”

“Together we stand and praise the King of Kings who reigns supreme. Hallowed be his name and his will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.”

Books by Dudley Anderson
Whatever you hear about this coronavirus pandemic, please don't allow it to attack your mental or spiritual wellbeing. Stay strong. We will get through this with God's help.

I've been meditating on Psalm 103 (read it). The Lord our God, El Shaddai, is the Creator. He is omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent and eternal. Our God is enthroned in the highest and Christ, our Lord and Saviour, is enthroned at his right hand, crowned King of Kings. The name of Jesus is higher than any name. The Scripture tells us that at his name every knee will bow. I will bless the Lord with all that is within me. No matter what calamity I go through Jesus is still on the throne.

Christian, if you acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Saviour then God has made you alive together with Christ and raised you up with him and seated you with him in heavenly places. You are in Christ Jesus. If Jesus is King of Kings and you are seated with him then – in Christ – you are enthroned above all power, dominion, illnesses and pandemics. You are under his crown. Psalm 103 tells us that the Lord has crowned you with steadfast love and mercy.

Covid-19 is a coronavirus. That is, it is a virus surrounded by small protein extensions that resemble the corona of the sun. It is these extensions that react with our cells and cause the virus to infect us. The word corona comes from the Latin word meaning crown. Covid-19 is a virus with a crown and its dominion is destruction. And we know who the Destroyer is (Satan). So, let us withdraw from under the monarchy of the Destroyer and decrown the "crownvirus" for we are seated under the authority of the King of Kings. The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

Psalm 103 calls us to praise the Lord our God:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
    who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy;
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.”

Together we stand and praise the King of Kings who reigns supreme. Hallowed be his name and his will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.

I praise you because you are in control of the affairs of man

“O most holy God, King of Kings and Lord of all, I submit to your rule in my life. Dear Lord, I acknowledge you in all my ways and, even in crisis, I trust you to direct my life’s track. I pray for healing for those who have contracted Covid-19 and I pray for protection for those who do not have it. I praise you because you are in control of the affairs of man. I praise you for peace, hope and sensibility during this worldwide calamity. I praise you because you are still on the throne and I am seated in Christ. Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me will continue to bless the Lord. Amen.”
