“If you would simply seek God by acknowledging him in all your ways and trusting him to direct your future, then there will be nothing that will inhibit his purposes from unfolding in your life.”

Isaiah 54:2
“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.”

Lee de Forest, inventor of the cathode ray tube, was once heard to say, “Theoretically, television may be feasible, but I consider it an impossibility - a development which we should waste little time dreaming about.” Then there was Thomas Watson, Chairman of the Board of IBM in 1943, who said, “I think there is a world market for about five computers.” Famous last words, indeed!

Perhaps you’re contemplating your future today. It could be that from where you’re standing, prospects of a bright new tomorrow seem a little bleak. If so, then let me encourage you to look beyond the worn-out tools that clutter your workbench and gaze at that beautiful prototype in the mirror; that masterpiece of you that God has been building since the day you were born. Forest was a great inventor, and Watson a great entrepreneur, but neither looked further than their noses. Their futures were indeed bright, but they missed the point. Need I point out the success of both television and the computer?

Your Lord Creator has great plans for your life, and his plans are for your hope and future. God is the greatest inventor of all, and he has the ways and means of marketing his strategies beyond all your expectations. You are a unique prototype of God’s purposes at home, in business, at school, at church and in your community. If you would simply seek God by acknowledging him in all your ways and trusting him to direct your future, then there will be nothing that will inhibit his purposes from unfolding in your life.

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet his unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor his covenant of peace be removed. And no weapon forged against you will prevail; you will refute every tongue that accuses you!

So, never doubt the Creator’s prowess when it comes to inventing the masterpiece of you. Take your eyes off the obstacles of doubt and fear and look up into the eyes of your great Designer who knows the plans he has for you. Resist the devil’s lies and then get out there and chase the dream that God has stored up for your tomorrow! As the author, Frank Peretti said, “God has created us in his image and put each of us here on earth for specific purposes. That means every human being has intrinsic value, preciousness, meaning and dignity.”

God-tracking is acknowledging the Designer’s prototype of you.

Don’t Give Up, Look Up & Pray

“I trust you to direct the outcome of my life for the good no matter what opposition or doubt sweeps my way.”

“O Lord, I’m sorry for taking my eyes off the beauty of what you’re doing in my life. Today I choose to fix my eyes on Jesus and his design for my life by acknowledging God in all my ways: my relationships, my education, my business, my recreation and especially my plans for the future. You are my Lord and my guide; my Inventor and my Designer. I trust you to direct the outcome of my life for the good no matter what opposition or doubt sweeps my way. Amen.”

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS BUILDING THE MODEL OF YOUR LIFE ON GOD’S PROTOTYPE

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

I once worked as a computer network controller for a major car manufacturer in South Africa. My office was in the IT department, located at the assembly plant for all models of the car. This was back in the good-old-days of hardwired computer networks, so part of my job required me to trace cabling throughout the factory. I loved this part of the job because it meant I could see how the cars were built. From the metal presses to the final body coating I could observe how luxury cars were expertly assembled.

From time to time an air of mystery would creep across the plant. A memo would make it rounds instructing staff to not divulge any information about the new secret shapes perceived under covers at the Research & Development department. A new model prototype had arrived from overseas and was being tested. From this prototype, many new luxury cars would be modelled. Once tested and approved, the design specifications of this prototype were fed into every computer along the assembly line, resulting in thousands of expertly crafted luxury cars being produced on its specifications.

Jesus was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit. He is not like any other man before or after. He is the Son of God – Emmanuel – God with us. He is called the Word of God, that is, the Word became flesh and dwelt on earth. Jesus Christ is the exact literal image of the eternal invisible God. Jesus is God incarnate. He is the sinless perfect prototype for the regenerate man. His plans have no flaws. His design is a mirror of the Creator. As with any prototype, Jesus the Christ was tested and approved. After his baptism by John, where God affirmed him as his perfect Son, Jesus was led into the wilderness where he endured intense temptation to sin. These tests were gruelling but Jesus, God’s prototype, stood strong. You see, he is designed according to the perfect blueprint – God himself.

From this immaculate and perfect prototype, God has produced many, many similar models. You are one of them, if you acknowledge Christ. You see, when you confessed Jesus as your Lord and put your faith in his death and resurrection, you were born again. Your old design fell away and you were remodelled according to his perfect blueprint. Because Jesus suffered intense temptation when he was tested, he will help you in your tests. In him, you are more than a conqueror. In him you stand saved, delivered and proved.

Don’t Give Up, Look Up!

I base every choice, every relationship, every activity in my life on his blueprint for holy living

Pray
“Dear God, thank you so much for Jesus. Thank you that he came as the exact representation of who you are. I turn my back on sin and depravity and acknowledge Jesus Christ as my Lord and saviour. I choose to plan my life according to your plans for me. Thank you, Jesus, that you suffered when you were tempted. Because of your suffering, you help me when I am tempted. I repent of all sin and fix my eyes on Jesus, the perfecter of my faith. Jesus is my example. Therefore, I base every choice, every relationship, every activity in my life on his blueprint for holy living. Amen.”
