Dear God-tracker
God-tracking is trusting God to meet your needs not your means
I remember when I was made redundant from my job I
thought about how it happens to many people but I thought it would never happen
to me. I was not earning a great deal at the time but when that final paycheque
ran out, things got tough! My lovely wife was earning an income at the time but
it was just not sufficient to see us through each month. So we prayed.
I remember how our needs were met in the most amazing
ways. Some dear friends helped us, because they knew of our needs, but it was the
times that we received provision from sources that had absolutely no concept of
our struggle that were the times that truly amazed me. Funny thing was, I was
never able to tally up the numbers. It seemed that God paid no attention to how
much cash we needed to get through the month, only to getting us through the
month. I am yet to reconcile the quantity of God’s provision with the means to
meet that quantity. God’s ways are not
our ways and his means not our means.
Don’t be surprised after seeking God’s provision for a
particular need, when he begins to provide in ways you would never have expected.
For instance, you may be in financial need and receive an anonymous envelope,
but don’t be disillusioned by a small amount inside. The amount is immaterial;
the simple fact that you received a provision is paramount. God knows your
needs – how much you need – and will always meet that need, provided you
continue to keep your eyes on Jesus and walk in the faith that this generates.
Your God knows your needs and your God is big enough to tally the numbers in
order to meet that need. If you are a Christian believer then you are found in
Christ. The Bible tells us that God will meet all our needs by his riches in
Christ. You see, you are in the same place as God’s riches… in Christ!
God-tracking is trusting
