“Right there, in the office, I laid hands on her,” said Paul as he described praying for a co-worker one Friday morning. “She had intense backache and could hardly climb the stairs to the first floor. I had asked her how severe it was on a scale from one to ten, ten being near death,” he mused. “She said nine. So, in front of everyone, I laid my hand on her shoulder and commanded her back to be healed in Jesus’ name. Then I asked her if there was any improvement and she said that the pain was about five. So, I prayed again. Suddenly she jumped up and said, ‘It’s gone! It’s gone! I felt a clicking in my spine and the pain just left me!’ I was ecstatic,” continued Paul. “She then spun around and ran up the stairs.”
My friend Paul is not some strange faith healer, he is a regular guy; a health and safety officer to be precise. But Paul knows the scriptures and prayed with complete faith in the power of the name of Jesus to heal. Jesus said, “These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” In Acts, we read of many healings done in Jesus’ name. In James, we read, “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick.” And by the Holy Spirit Peter writes, “By his wounds, you have been healed.”
Jesus healed the sick. Often, we read that Jesus healed all who came to him. In fact, I did some research and discovered that two-thirds of the miracles that Jesus performed were miracles of healing. God’s word is God’s will and in God’s word, we read that God is the LORD who heals. Therefore, I think it’s safe to say that healing is the will of God.

If so, then let us stand together in agreement (Jesus said, “if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven,”) and pray that prayer of faith that the Lord will heal you in every way.

“In the name of Jesus, I pray now with my reader, O Lord. You are Jehovah Rapha – the LORD who heals. Though I cannot physically lay my hands on my friend, I pray a prayer of faith, in agreement with them, for their healing. I command every ailment, every pain, every infirmity: cancer, diabetes, back pain, arthritis, deafness, crippled limbs, tumours, blood conditions… every possible illness to be healed. Not by my authority do I pray, but by the authority of God’s word, do I pray for healing, in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
