Dear God Tracker
One Size does Not Fit All
When my children were small they enjoyed an array of toys from dolls and toy cars to intricate toddlers’ puzzles. I remember one puzzle in particular that consisted of a sixteen-sided plastic ball with various irregularly shaped holes in each side; there was a star shape, a square shape, a triangle and so on. With the ball came sixteen irregularly shaped plastic blocks, each corresponding to a different hole in the ball. The idea was for the toddler to find the correct shaped block for the corresponding hole and push it through into the ball. It was great fun, especially for dad! However, I would often find my little girl or little boy trying really hard to force a round block into a square hole or a star block into a triangle hole. They would try to inject the block into the hole every which way until it finally dawned on them to try a different hole. Eventually with a range of grunts and whines the block would find its way into the hole of corresponding shape.
Have you ever felt like a misfit in life? Have you ever tried to do a job or explore a relationship that just did not seem to suite your skills or your character? The popular saying goes: “You’re trying to be a square peg in a round hole.” For instance, when I still lived in South Africa back in the 1980’s, I remember leaving one job for another. I worked in the IT industry as a network controller for a quite decent company but, in my own quest for the proverbial greener grass on the other side of the fence, I left and joined a new company as a systems programmer. Bad move; I was just not cut out for the job. As it turned out I found myself at loggerheads with management, trying to persuade them that I really did know what I was doing. Needless to say I finally resigned and moved back into networking in a new company. You see, I was trying to be a square peg in a round hole.
Dear God Tracker, as you seek to track God’s plans for life, remember that God knows your shape. Be encouraged, he knows everything about you. He knows whether you are a square or a round peg; he knows whether you are a triangle or a star and he knows what bests fits your character. Provided you continue to acknowledge him and look for his will in all you do, he will fit you into your appropriate hole according to his purposes. Jesus told us to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness (that is his method and his principles in life) then all else will be added to us as well. God loves you so much that he will always provide for and guide you into the appropriately shaped opportunities, provided you put him first. God’s purposes for your life are deliberate and they are exclusively designed by God to fit only you. You see, with God one size does not fit all.
God-tracking is fitting in with God’s plan for your life.
Every blessing
Dudley

My Qualification of Grace
Colossians 1:10-12
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Pray:
“Father God thank you first and foremost for the qualifications of Jesus in that he was sinless but still bore the consequence of my sin to the cross. Thank you that this act opened heaven for me and as I accept Jesus as my Lord and saviour I become qualified by your grace to come to the throne of God and to serve you where and how you call me to. Lord I want to live a life worthy of this calling; I want to please you and bear good fruit in all I do. Help me to discover your plan for my life. Dear Lord, help me to not be a misfit but to fit exactly into your designer purpose for me. Help me not to get in your way by doing things my own way. Only your grace has enabled my inheritance. By faith I accept my qualification of grace. Amen.”
