Dear God Tracker

Like Hunters and Not Scavengers

I’ll admit it. I’m a bit of a television documentary junky. I love programmes about science and nature, provided they are based on proven fact and not prefabricated fallacy. Some of my favourites are wildlife documentaries. Often the viewer is shown most incredible footage of the great cats tracking and killing their prey. After each kill the whole family joins in to gorge on fresh meat. However, after the cats leave, the next crowd of greedy carnivores converge – the scavengers. Hyenas and vultures pounce on the corps to consume the leftovers of the hunters.

As trackers of God it is our privilege to personally look for his plans and purposes for our lives. Jesus told us to ask, seek and knock. He said that everyone who asks receives; he, who seeks, finds and to him who knocks the door is opened. Like the great lioness stalking her prey through the African scrub so we are called to personally track God’s will for our lives. However, there are those who neglect to do this. They find it a lot easier to glean off of the lives of others.

Growing up in a Christian home a child needs to discover that he cannot piggyback on his parent’s faith for the rest of his life. The young woman who finds herself under the ministry of a seasoned youth leader cannot expect him to be her source of spiritual discovery forever. The dear Christian wife who has leant on her husband’s walk with God cannot feed off his spirituality indefinitely. All these need to discover their very own God tracks. They need to personally fix their own eyes on Jesus, author of their faith. As God-trackers, let’s not feed off faith leftovers. Let us seek the Lord and track his purposes like hunters and not scavengers.

God tracking is a personal experience.

Ever blessing

Dudley

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!

Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

The Purpose of Your Will For The Rest Of My Life

Ephesians 1:11
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

Pray
“My personal Lord and saviour, thank you for dying for me. Today I put my faith, personally, in Jesus. Forgive me for living off the faith of others. I want to serve you where and how you want me to do so, personally. Thank you for your plans for me, O Lord. Help me to walk the way you have designed exclusively for me. I give myself to you to seek the purpose of your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus. Amen.”
