GOD-TRACKING IS BEING SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE ONLY BY THE BLESSING OF THE LORD
One morning R. C. Chapman, known as the apostle of love, was asked how he was feeling. "I'm burdened this morning!" said Chapman. But his happy smile contradicted his words. So, the questioner exclaimed in surprise, "Are you really burdened, Mr. Chapman?" He replied, "Yes, but it's a wonderful burden. It's an overabundance of blessings for which I cannot find enough time or words to express my gratitude!" Seeing the quizzical look on his friend’s face, Chapman added with a smile, "I am referring to Psalm 68:19, which fully describes my condition. In that verse, the Father in heaven reminds us that He 'daily loads us with benefits.'"
Everybody faces down days from time to time. I had one, the other day. For no reason at all, in the middle of the day, I began feeling completely unmotivated and miserable (yes, even pastors have down days). I had no major issues at the office and the family was good, but somehow, I just wanted to shut down and sleep. Just the thought of writing another word or answering the next call became a mountain I dreaded to climb. Probably a lying attack from Satan, but I began questioning my levels of success and achievement. I went to bed that night wondering why I do what I do.
The next morning, I dragged myself to my normal spot where I read and pray. Still pondering the feelings of the day before a scripture came to mind. Through the haze of self-doubt and self-pity I sensed the Holy Spirit say, “I am your source and your resource. It’s not your effort that wins the day, for the blessing of the Lord brings riches, and he adds no sorrow to it.” Instantly I realised that, no matter how hard I labour; no matter how much enthusiasm I attempt muster to do the job, without God’s blessing it will come to nought.
Success is the consequence of God’s blessing. The blessing of the Lord is your source of joy, purpose and accomplishments. Seeking the blessing of God means seeking his favour, his motivation and his drive for all you do. The blessing of the Lord is his endorsement – his signature – at the bottom of the contract saying, “This work is done in my Name!” The blessing of the Lord relieves you from the responsibility of striving for achievement, because the blessing of the Lord is powered by God’s sufficient grace. And grace is God’s doing! So, let’s stand back and agree with R. C. Chapman today, blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation.

DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY
I give you glory for all my successes, because they are fuelled by your blessing, alone
“O Lord, thank you for your grace. Grace is your unmerited favour! Grace powers your blessings and I thank you that you load me with benefits, because of the saving work of Jesus Christ. Today I therefore, seek your blessing on everything I do: I seek your blessing on my work; I seek your blessing on my ministry; I seek your blessing on my family and my marriage and I seek your blessing on every relationship in my life. It is your blessing that will cause success in my life. I give you glory for all my successes, because they are fuelled by your blessing, alone. Amen.”
