“The Lord has seen your oppression and heard your cries. He knows! And my God will meet your needs because he loves you.”

Exodus 3:7
And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.

God promised Abraham that his descendants would occupy a land flowing with milk and honey. Abraham had settled in Canaan as a foreigner – the Hebrew. When drought hit the land, his grandson, Jacob moved the family to Egypt. While Jacob’s son, Joseph, reigned in Egypt under the Pharaoh the Hebrews enjoyed prosperity. However, after Joseph died, Abraham’s children came under intense oppression. Life was tough, to say the least. Men slaved day and night for 7 days a week. Women and children were abused. But we read, “The Lord said: ‘I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.’”

The Lord knows every detail of what you are facing today. He is aware of your challenges and strife. He sees your misery and anguish. He hears your prayers and your cries for help. Your God is concerned for your well-being and peace. He will intervene.

The Israelites were under slavery for 400 years. That may seem a very long time to us. But, I believe, even during those years, their loving God saw their plight and guarded them through their troubles. He knew his people. He knew what they faced. I believe, that if we were to hear the stories of individual men and women during this time we would be astounded at the mercy, grace and care of their Lord Yehovah. And then came Moses.

Stand sure. Don’t give up, look up. Your help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Cast your cares on him because he cares for you. The Lord has seen your oppression and heard your cries. He knows! And my God will meet your needs because he loves you.

God-tracking is knowing he knows.

So, don’t give up, look up & pray!

“I believe that you will resolve this conflict and rescue me from this oppression.”

“Dear Lord, I don’t know how long I can go on. And yet, I know you know my plight. I know you are aware of my situation. So, dear Lord, I rest in the knowledge of your knowledge and acknowledge you in every situation I face. You are supreme. You are sovereign and mighty. I believe that you will resolve this conflict and rescue me from this oppression. I cast all my cares on you because I know you care for me. Amen.”

“Praise is affirmative. Praise is assertive. Praise is prayer accomplished. Praise fixes our gaze beyond the need and says, ‘Job done!’”

Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song, I will praise him.

 In his book Prison to Praise, Merlin Carothers writes, “I have come to believe that the prayer of praise is the highest form of communion with God and one that always releases a great deal of power into our lives. Praising Him is not something we do because we feel good; rather it is an act of obedience. Often the prayer of praise is done in sheer teeth-gritting willpower; yet when we persist in it, somehow the power of God is released into us and into the situation. At first in a trickle perhaps, but later in a growing stream that finally floods us and washes away the old hurts and scars.”

Praise is affirmative. Praise is assertive. Praise is prayer accomplished. Praise fixes our gaze beyond the need and says, "Job done!" Though you may not see the answer to your need today, your faith is the assurance of that which you hope for. Though now for a little while you may be grieved by various trials, you rejoice in God’s goodness. The genuineness of your faith will be found to praise, honour, and glorify God for your needs met. As Jesus looked beyond the cross and saw himself glorified at the right hand of God, so you look beyond your affliction and see your needs met in Christ. He who promised is faithful!

You may need to praise God through sheer teeth-gritting willpower but praise will see you through. Praising God in hard times can be tough but praise releases the power of God. Therefore, praise is an act of obedience.

God-tracking is praising God for tomorrow’s needs met, today.

“Praise God! Praise God in my jubilation and praise God in my sorrow. Dear Lord, though today I still have needs today, I will obediently praise you for the answer to my prayers. Wise Love

“Wisdom is applied knowledge. In wisdom, God applies his knowledge of your life to your life. However, the wisdom of God is motivated by his love. Love is the root of wisdom.”

Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.

“God chose you out of love and not wisdom, but he reveals his wisdom by his love,” said Evangelist David as he shared the word of God. David is an acclaimed preacher and evangelist. Many, many people have come to salvation under his ministry. He has seen many marvellous miracles of healing when praying for the sick. David is the type of man one might consider a mighty man of God. “I sought the Lord about his calling on my life,” he explained. “I prayed, ‘How can you call yourself wise if you chose a man like me to share your word?’”

God is omniscient. That is, he knows all things about all things. God’s knowledge is infinite and God knows you very well. He knows your past, your present and your future, and he knows the plans he has for you. It takes wisdom to apply plans. Wisdom is applied knowledge. In wisdom, God applies his knowledge of your life to your life. However, the wisdom of God is motivated by his love. Love is the root of wisdom. Out of his love for a young headstrong preacher, God called a great evangelist.

Because of his love, God sent Jesus his only begotten son to take our place in death and redeem us from the curse of sin. To the natural eye, this seems foolish. How could a father sacrifice his son for the wrongdoing of others? Yet, it pleased God, through the foolishness of the cross, to demonstrate his love to a sinful world. God’s thoughts are not like our thoughts, and his ways are greater than our ways. His word to you and me today is: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

David continued to explain that he was no special person. He came from a deprived background with little education, yet due to his unconditional love, God demonstrated his wisdom by calling him to preach the gospel.

God-tracking is resting in God’s wise love.

It’s amazing how you deemed it necessary to reconcile me to your goodness through Jesus. Today I rest in your loving wisdom. I know you have plans for my life. “The fear of the Lord is not a trepidation of his presence. The fear of the Lord is a deep reverent respect for his majesty and power. The fear of God is to worship him in spirit with a true heart and in love because he's good. He's the king.”

Psalm 25:12
Who is the man that fears the Lord? Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.

In The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis, two girls, Susan and Lucy, get ready to meet Aslan the Lion. Aslan represents Christ. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver prepare the children for the encounter. "Ooh," said Susan, "I thought he was a man. Is he quite safe? I shall feel rather nervous about meeting a lion."

"That you will, dearie," said Mrs. Beaver. "And make no mistake, if there's anyone who can appear before Aslan without their knees knocking, they're either braver than most or else just silly."

"Then isn't he safe?" said Lucy. "Safe?" said Mr. Beaver. "Don't you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? Of course, he isn't safe. But he's good. He's the king, I tell you!"

I’m learning daily, the fear of God. The fear of God is not fight or flight. The fear of God is like the fear one might have of high voltage. High-voltage electricity has the power to snuff out life in a flash, yet we employ 220V daily to run our appliances in the home. I have deep respect for the power socket in my bedroom but I’m most grateful for the power it provides to bring me light in the dark.

Our God is high and exalted. He is our sovereign Majesty. His character is supreme, his power unlimited and his will, paramount. Our God is the supreme Creator of the universe. He has the power to snuff out life in a flash. Yet, God loved you and me so much that he gave his righteous Son as a propitiation for our sins. By his grace, we boldly approach his throne and obtain mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.

To fear God is to love God. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love. To fear God is to not fear his judgement. If you know Christ as Saviour, having surrendered your life to him, then you live in love, not fear. Perfect love casts out fear. Yet we are told that he will teach us his ways if we fear him.

The fear of the Lord is not a trepidation of his presence. The fear of the Lord is a deep reverent respect for his majesty, power and grace. The fear of God is to lovingly worship him in spirit with a true heart. He's good. He's the king.

God-tracking is walking in the fear of the Lord.
