Dear God Tracker

God-tracking requires loyal discipleship, but by his strength

Another term to describe the term God Tracker is disciple. Jesus was once talking about the cost of discipleship when he said that if anyone desires to be his disciple they need to be ready to deny every aspect of their private ambitions, including family, and take up their cross to follow him. When Jesus told us to “hate” our families he was not saying that we should despise or reject them in any way (for instance, one of the Ten Commandments commands us to honour our fathers and mothers) but he was pointing out that our relationship with God, through Christ, is supreme to every other relationship we might have. Now that’s costly!

How much does it cost to build a house? If you were to sit down and add up the costs of buying land, hiring an architect, acquiring the building materials and workmen you would find it to be quite expensive. Then there’s the effort involved in managing the project and ensuring that the builders do a good job. Building a house takes money, time and dedication. Once you start you shouldn’t stop. If you under cost your materials or lose interest then the project would come to a standstill. Just the same, if you desire to be a God Tracker then there is a cost and a commitment involved.

Perhaps you have been walking with Christ for some time but you feel as though you’re running out of steam in the effort of being his disciple. It may be that you are unequally yoked in a relationship and God is calling you to deny selfish interests in respect of godly morals. Or perhaps you feel you simply just can’t afford the costs of being a God Tracker. Then let me encourage you to come to Jesus if you are weary in your God-tracking. He told us to take up his yoke – in other words to link with him and let him do the work – and then we would find rest for our souls. Being a disciple of Christ takes total commitment and is very costly. But you and I will only succeed in God-tracking by the strength he gives through the Holy Spirit. After all, by the Holy Spirit Jesus is still our discipler

God-tracking requires loyal discipleship, but by his strength.

We shall find that the spheres God brings us into are not meant to teach us something but to make us something.” --- Oswald Chambers

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!
Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

I’m Yoked with You and Your Yoke Is Easy

Pray
“Dear Lord I admit that I have become weary in my walk with you. I hear your challenge to give up certain parts of my life in order to follow you more closely. I’m sorry for becoming unyoked with Jesus and unequally yoked with the world. I take my eyes off of my selfish desires and surrender once again to be a dedicated tracker of God. I come to Jesus and take up his burden of discipleship once again. And I know that I don’t do this alone, because I’m yoked with you and your yoke is easy and your burden is light. Lord I love you and desire your perfect will for my life. Bless my loved ones as I give them to you in order to make you Lord of my life. In Jesus Christ. Amen.”
