“Faith
is admitting that we don’t have what it takes to work for our salvation. It is
simply by putting our confidence in the work of Jesus through the cross that we
are saved. It’s that easy!”
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this
not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can
boast.
Studies have shown that the hippocampus of one’s brain, which is responsible for short-term memory, shrinks when one is under stress. In other words, the more stressed you become, the more forgetful you become. Further studies have shown that religious people tend to have short-term memory lapses, indicating that their hippocampi have become reduced. The researchers put this down to the stresses involved in following the precepts of religious rites.
As Christians, we do follow the precepts of our scriptures. However, true Christianity is not a set of rules; it’s a relationship. The essence of salvation for a Christian is not religious works but a submissive faith in God’s grace – and grace is God’s doing. He did it by sending Jesus, his righteous son, to die for sin in our place (because the wages of sin is death) and then, by his resurrection, to create a way for us to be forgiven of sin. Jesus became sin for us so that, in him, we might become God’s righteousness. The Law of the Spirit of life in Christ has set us free from the requirements of dead religious rites. Faith is admitting that we don’t have what it takes to work for our salvation. It is simply by putting our confidence in the work of Jesus through the cross that we are saved. It’s that easy!
Kathryn Khulman said, “Christianity is not a religion; Christianity is a supernatural revelation.” Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,” and “my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Religion is bearing up under the yoke of religious rites, while true Christianity is simply tracking your life track by faith, arm in arm with Jesus.
God-tracking is not a religious rite; it’s a stress-free walk of faith.

DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY
“I will walk by faith and not by human effort.”
“Dear God, I admit that I have sinned and come short of your righteous requirements. In the name of Jesus Christ, I repent of my sin and of my human efforts at trying to earn my salvation by good works. I realise now that I am saved only by the work of Jesus on the cross and his resurrection from the dead. And that is grace. I accept this fact by faith and confess Christ as Lord of my life. I come to Jesus today to take up his yoke and let go of my own vague endeavours. From here on, I will walk by faith and not by human effort. Amen.”
