Dear God Tracker

God-tracking is resting in the call of God

The concept of God-tracking is based upon remaining in the will of God by tracking his plans and purposes for our lives. Sometimes the will of God takes us on a journey where we encounter much opposition to God’s purposes for our lives as the devil tries to prevent us from walking in God’s will. One thing I have learned is that if God has called and appointed you to something then he is quite capable of watching over his calling upon your life. God’s Spirit watches to see that his word is fulfilled in your life. You have nothing to defend, just keep your eyes upon Jesus and remain in God’s will.

I had sensed the call of God on my life since 1980 and he had confirmed it time and again. Ten years later I left my job to study for the ministry. At the time I was involved in a small church as worship leader. To cut a long story short, for some reason the leaders of this church were threatened by my position and falsely accused me of wanting to split the church. “You are cutting against the spirit,” I was told (whatever that meant). At the time my wife, Karen and I sensed God telling us to be silent and that he would vindicate. I resigned from the church so that I was removed from any position of influence. Not long afterwards, the can of worms was opened and sadly, eventually the church closed down. All this time I had remained silent until I was eventually called to give an account. You see, no man had called me and I had no reason to defend my corner. My God was more than able and he was watching over his calling – his word – on my life.

The scripture tells us in Psalm 37:7, “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways.” Perhaps you’re facing a similar situation today. It could be you have been called or instructed by God to do something for him (and be sure you confirm God’s calling) but people are standing in your way or trying to undermine your calling. If so then here’s good advice: zip it! That’s correct, be silent and do not try to defend your corner. If God has called you then he will watch over and defend his calling on your life. The truth will out, so make sure you are walking in the truth. You see, your battle is not against flesh and blood but against the forces of Satan. Stand against the devil in the privacy of your prayer closet. God is faithful and his love and purposes endures for you. Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth,” (Matthew 5:5).

God-tracking is resting in the call of God.

Every blessing

Verse of the Week

Psalm 37:8
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil.

Quote of the Week

A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

“We are not called to live by human reason.  All that matters is obedience to God’s word and his leading in our lives.  If God says go, we’ll go.  If he says stay we’ll stay.  When we are in his will, we are in the safest place in the world.”  --- Brother Yun

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!

Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

Help me accomplish your purposes in my life

Isaiah 55:11
...so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Pray
“Heavenly Father, I thank you for your calling upon my life. Thank you that you have confirmed to me that you wish me to do this thing. It may not seem important to others but to me - in you - it is very important. Help me to walk in truth and never become conceited or try to defend your calling on my life. If you have called me then I believe you will watch over your word in my life and fulfil my work. I accept your word as the parched earth accepts the rain. I believe that it will not return to you empty. Help me to walk in your will, and when opposition comes, to silently allow you to defend your calling. Help me accomplish your purposes in my life. Amen.”
