“Ultimately, even when things go wrong, God’s
light will shine on the road ahead and we will succeed in what we choose to do.”
Job 22:28 (NLT)
“You will succeed in whatever you choose to do, and light will shine on
the road ahead of you.”
Job was a very wealthy and righteous man. It was said of him that he was blameless and upright. He feared God and shunned evil. One day, the devil approached God about Job saying, “Does Job fear God for nothing? Stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse you.” The omniscient God knew Job. He knew that Job’s heart was right and that, whatever befell him, Job would not turn against God. So, though he was not permitted to take Job’s life, the Lord gave the devil permission to test Job by stripping him of all he had including his family, his livestock and even his health.
During his time of trial, Job’s friends offered him copious advice; some good, some not so good. Eliphaz the Temanite wrongly accused Job of wickedness but then said, “Now acquaint yourself with him, and be at peace, thereby good will come to you. Receive instruction from his mouth and lay up his words in your heart.” Wise words, indeed, from the man. He then implies that, though things have gone wrong for Job, he would ultimately succeed in all he did as God illuminated his path in life. At the end of Job’s story, we read, “So the Lord blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning. He died, an old man who lived a long, full life.”
If you know and acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour then you have been forgiven of your wrong. By his grace, through Jesus, God has justified you and replaced your heart of sin with his pure righteousness. Therefore, like Job, in Christ, you are blameless and upright. Though he came under intense Satanic attack, Job kept his heart true and never denied God. A fine example to you and me when we come under the devil’s ploy to derail us from our God-given purpose.
So, may we stand strong with wholehearted faith in our Lord. Ultimately, even when things go wrong, God’s light will shine on the road ahead and we will succeed in what we choose to do.
God-tracking is never wavering even when things go wrong.

Don’t Give Up, Look Up & Pray
“Ultimately, I know that I will succeed in whatever I choose to do, and your light will shine on the road ahead of me.”
“Dear Lord, thank you for the story of Job. I praise you that you rescued him when things went wrong and restored his well-being. I take Job’s example and choose to stay true to my faith in you even when things go wrong in my life. I know the enemy of my soul, Satan, is intent on derailing me from my God-given purpose in life. But even though the devil may strip me of all I hold dear, you, O Lord, are my hope and final reward. In you I trust. Ultimately, I know that I will succeed in whatever I choose to do, and your light will shine on the road ahead of me. Amen”
