The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track

Dear God-tracker
God-tracking is allowing God to shake you up!
(A prophetic
word for you today.)
“And I will shake all nations, so that the
treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory,
says the Lord of hosts.”
John read from the Bible as we began our prayer meeting. He went on to
pray that the Lord would, indeed, shake the nations and turn people’s hearts Godward.
As he prayed I suddenly had an impression in my mind’s eye of a fruit tree
being shaken by the wind. As I watched the picture unfold I noticed that the
tree was laden with ripe fruit. As it was shaken I imagined fruit dropping to
the ground where children gathered it and were nourished by its wholesomeness.
However, not all the fruit was gathered. Some remained on the ground where
birds of the air pecked at it dispersing the seed of the tree far and wide. Then
I realized that the tree represented a Christian man and the fruit represented
the word of God within its branches. The Lord was shaking him up – disturbing his
equilibrium – like a tree being shaken by the wind. As his quiet little world was
disturbed evidence of God began to be seen by those around him, who were
nourished by the windfall of God’s fruit falling to the ground. At same time the
seed of the gospel was being dispersed far and wide.
God-tracker, do you feel
shaken up today? Does it feel as though the world around you is a blur of chaos
as you try to focus on your daily routine? Do you sense the ground quaking under
your feet while you try to retain you balance at your work, in your
relationships and in personal management? Sometimes it’s when it seems as
though our world is falling apart and we’re losing control of everyday life
that it is, in fact, God who is shaking us up; shaking the heavens and the earth and the
sea and the dry land.
If you are continuing to
acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and seeking first his kingdom then you
are walking in the path God has designed for you. The shaking you are feeling
today is a good thing. Rest assured, God is
in control! Over the years the Lord has produced good fruit in you by teaching
you his ways and growing your faith. God has produced abundant fruit in your
life by his word and through the Holy Spirit. This fruit is all that is good
contained in your branches. This fruit contains the seed of the word of God –
the gospel – and when it falls with the shaking from your branches it will
nourish those around you. Some people will eat the fruit and be satisfied while
others will consume the seed of the word of God and spread the gospel far and
wide. Jesus said, “Each tree is known by its fruit. The
good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil
person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the
heart his mouth speaks.” When you are shaken your mouth will speak out what’s
in your heart; so be sure to laden your heart with God’s word.
Stand
firm, therefore, in the Lord’s shaking and allow your fruit to fall. And when
calm descends once again you will discover that the state of your latter house
will be more glorious than the former.
God-tracking is allowing God to shake you up!

Don’t Give Up, Look Up!
Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus!
May the fruit of your word falling from my branches
change lives and bring people into your kingdom
Pray:
“My Lord, I feel as though the life in me
is being shaken up. I confess that have continued to acknowledge you in all my
ways and keep my eyes on Jesus while seeking first your kingdom. Therefore, I
believe that what I am sensing in my life today is your shaking. Dear Lord, I
pray that only good fruit will fall from my branches and nourish those around
me. Use these difficulties in my life to reveal the fruit of the Spirit within
me. Help me to stand strong in this shaking, by the power of your Spirit. May
the fruit of your word falling from my branches change lives and bring people
into your kingdom. Keep shaking me! Amen.”
