Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is dumping your stress on him, because he cares for you

“I just don’t know how much longer I can go on,” said Tony. He paused for effect while his doctor waited patiently for him to continue. “It seems I can never make my boss happy; he is always attacking me. And I never see my wife these days. Her job takes her away from home so much. And then there’s our finance… they’re in a mess. I just want to quit! What should I do?” Tony’s doctor began scribbling out a script as he tried as best he could to console his patient. Tony was a victim of one of the pandemics that affect most people these days – stress.

I think Jesus new about stress. We often read of him taking time out by himself to rest and recharge his physical batteries. (One thing we tend to forget about Jesus the Son of God is he was also as much a human as you and I are.) Work overload and the cares of this life take their toll on the best of us. All too often we so overcommit ourselves or overstretch our commitments that we become useless to those we serve and a danger to ourselves. Jesus was being literally followed by thousands of people every day. Whenever he stepped out of a house or even within its walls the crowds hounded him for healings and miracles. But Jesus knew the importance of care casting. He would regularly withdraw to pray to Father.

Cast all your cares on the Lord, because he cares for you. Your God is a great big God and he will meet all your needs according to his riches in Christ. He is your source and your resource. One of the consequences of stress is a sense of hopelessness. Hopelessness has a horrible habit of becoming increasingly hopeless the more you dwell on it. But there is hope! In fact, the God of hope will fill you with overflowing hope by the supernatural power of his Holy Spirit if you will only turn to him. Jesus knew all that you would be facing today, that is why he said, “Do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

So take time out today in prayer to upload your problems to the domain of heaven.

God-tracking is dumping your stress on him, because he cares for you

Pray:
“Dear Father, I feel so overloaded today. It feels like the whole world is closing in on me. Help me to deal with my responsibilities and my work load. Forgive me for taking all this stress upon myself. I choose now, therefore, to cast my cares upon you. I offload my worries about money, my concerns for health and the cares of my family upon your shoulders. I know that you love me and that you are very capable of helping me deal with all these issues. Instead of stressing out I choose to retreat to a quiet place and put my hope in you. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS SHOUTING ABOUT ALL GOD HAS DONE FOR YOU!

trACker 551 The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

28 August 2015

Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is shouting about all God has done for you!

What’s in a word? Jesus once said, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Words are thoughts, emotions and pictures held captive in our hearts yet they escape through the gate of our lips. The spoken word is very powerful. The spoken word is a confession and a confession is an admission to belief. This is why we are told to believe that Jesus died and rose again and confess him as Lord.

The scriptures also say, “And they have conquered him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” This verse is talking about conquering the devil. When Jesus died his Blood was shed as atonement for sin just as the blood of a spotless lamb was shed under the old covenant. It was by his Blood that Christ conquered the forces of darkness, and there is absolutely nothing the devil can do about that! However, the objective victory of the Blood only becomes subjective victory in your life if you confess – testify – to your belief in the victory of the shed Blood. Therefore, if you have confessed that Jesus shed his Blood for you then you have gained victory over Satan, sin, sickness, poverty, anxiety and eternal death itself!

Nevertheless, Satan will do all he can to prevent you from testifying to what God is doing in your life. The devil is the source of all that is evil and destructive, including all forms of physical and emotional illness. Jesus called him the thief who comes to kill, steal and destroy. And the devil is also called, the father of lies. In him there is no truth. And lies hold no water. On the other hand, Jesus is called the Truth and in him there is no lie. The Truth of God stands solid for eternity and the Truth of God supersedes the lie of the Destroyer! So when Satan tells you you’re not healed or that you’re not forgiven or that you’re not free from anxiety then tell him he is a liar!

When you receive a touch from God remind your mouth to confess what God has done. By the shed Blood of Jesus you were healed. So go ahead and shout about it! God’s word promises that he will meet all your needs in Christ. So go ahead and shout about it! God’s word says that God has not given you a spirit of fear but of love, power and sound mind. So go ahead and shout about it! Add your testimony to the victory of the Blood of the Lamb and you will overcome the father of lies!

God-tracking is shouting about all God has done for you!

Stay blessed

GOD-TRACKING IS DWELLING IN HIS PRESENCE, ALWAYS

trACker 550 The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

21 August 2015

Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is dwelling in his presence, always

The king sat alone in the tabernacle outer courts, praying. Whenever his enemies rose up against him and the responsibilities of governing his people with wisdom and grace took their toll, David would come down from Jerusalem to just sit quietly in the tabernacle and meditate upon the goodness of God. That day the king had commanded his guards to remain outside the tabernacle boundary and had requested that the priests leave him alone for a while, as he always did when he visited God’s dwelling. King David was not a priest so he was not permitted into the holy place but he sat down on the ground in the shade under the edge of the tent where he could smell the fragrances of myrrh, cinnamon, cane and cassia coming from within. David loved these moments. There, in the dust of the earth, he began tracing out the words, “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life…”

King David was a great man. He was the only king of Israel who truly obeyed the decrees of the Lord until his dying day. David was no angel, mind you. He had much blood on his hands as a great warrior, and he’d committed murder and adultery. Yet David’s heart was pure and he was very quick to repent of is his sins. In fact, it is written of King David that he was the apple of God’s eye. Here we see David pursuing his greatest pleasure – to reside in the dwelling of God. In the midst of turmoil and violence; in the thick of conflict and war King David knew that the Lord’s presence was his source and resource. The presence of God – in prayer – was always the place of his security, hope and rejuvenation.

Perhaps you find yourself in the thick of conflict or confusion today. Perhaps, when you look back over the past few months or years all you see is disappointment and failure. Well, if that’s you then don’t give up, look up! Make a conscious effort to rise and seek the dwelling of the Lord in prayer. David spent many a day in the tabernacle, still before God when his soul was downcast. The dwelling of the Lord is a place of fragrant peace. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” And the dwelling place of God is in your heart. If you know Christ as Lord and Saviour then your body has become the very temple of the Lord God Almighty! So rest in him today wherever you are and he will hide you in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal you under the cover of his tent.

God-tracking is dwelling in his presence, always.

Stay blessed

GOD-TRACKING IS TURNING THE OTHER CHEEK, EVEN WHEN IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT

trACker 549 The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

14 August 2015

Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is turning the other cheek, even when it’s not your fault

Ed sat on his small bed in the small studio flat he’d moved to more than a year ago. His heart was heavy – very heavy. Joanne had kicked him out of the home after a massive blow-up. This conflict was years in the making. Finally she had snapped and sent him packing. He remembered the good times they’d had and how much he really did love her, but she never really understood him. He’d suffered so much verbal abuse and was determined to sit this one out until she saw the truth and came grovelling to his door. “That was one slap too, many,” he grumbled under his breath as he gazed out the only window into the blank wall outside. “I refuse to buckle to her whims any more… but how I miss her!”

Jesus lived in a culture thwart with self-righteous hypocrites. Most people, including his disciples, were intent on seeking their own ends in their relationship with him. James and John wanted to be the greatest in his kingdom whereas the Pharisees, who opposed him, were intent on promoting their own smug agendas. Any wonder that Jesus taught, “Whoever would be great among you must be your servant,” and “To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also,” and “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” These were alien words to a community who was hoping for a champion to rise up against their vicious Roman landlords. These were biting words to men consumed with their own self-importance and cozy lifestyles.

As the minutes past, Ed’s mind wondered back to the last sermon he’d heard Pastor Jim preach before he stopped attending church. “When someone insults you or accuses you of being in the wrong when you’re actually in the right,” Jim had said, “then turn the other cheek and take the slap. The truth will out, always!” In reality, Ed was on the side of the truth, well… mostly. Why should he buckle to her agenda? Then all of a sudden Ed realized that he had no need to defend himself. The truth will out! It always does. And God watches over the truth because Jesus is the Truth. Therefore all he needed to do was to continue to walk in the truth. “Turn the other cheek, eh?” he mused. “I know this is gonna hurt – like the other cheek did – but hey, what have I got to lose?” Ed dialed her number. “Hi Jo, I’m sorry…”

God-tracking is turning the other cheek, even when it’s not your fault

However, if I’m not walking in the truth then I’m to blame for the conflict in my life. Forgive me if this is so and help me to side with the truth, even to my humiliation. But Lord, I realise that the truth stands sure, always. Therefore, I will not retaliate in this conflict; rather I turn the other cheek! Help me to do to others as I would have them do to me – even to my enemies. Help me to not try to pick a speck of dust out of my brother’s eye when there’s a log in my own. Dear Lord, I choose to walk in the opposite spirit in humility, truth and forgiveness. In Jesus’s name. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS PRAISING GOD TODAY FOR MEETING YOUR NEEDS TOMORROW

07 August 2015

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS PRAISING GOD TODAY FOR MEETING YOUR NEEDS TOMORROW

“O Lord, I don’t know what more to do,” prayed my wife, Karen. “We’ve been looking for a new house to let for weeks and found nothing, and we need to move out of this house in only a few days’ time.” She looked down again into the pages of the Bible and read, “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them, and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone's bonds were unfastened.” Karen just happened to be reading from the book of Acts that night. “That’s what we need, Lord,” she said. “I praise you tonight for a miracle to provide us with a new home!”

My family and I had been living in the UK for only 6 months when the owner of the house we were living in announced that she was selling. We immediately began our search for a new house to let but eventually weeks reduced to days and still no new home. Karen and I were under much anxiety and not a little desperate.

Having a fairly active metabolism, come midnight and I’m still awake I would become rather peckish. That night I made my way to the refrigerator for a snack. The moment I opened the fridge door its little light came on, shone across the lounge and out of our front window. As the Lord would have it, our neighbour who worked shifts, came home at that very moment and spotted its little ray coming from our kitchen. Tap, tap, tap! I was startled by the sound and looked up to see Debbie beckon to me to open the window. “I found you a house,” she whispered with a smile. “The landlord wants immediate occupation.” The very next day Karen and I viewed the lovely house and day later signed the letting agreement!

Just as Paul and Silas had praised God under adverse circumstances at midnight so Karen had praised God in our need at midnight. Just as Paul and Silas were miraculously freed from prison through prayer and praise so Karen and I were miraculously freed from anxiety and had our need met through prayer and praise. The same can be true for you today, dear God-tracker. Whatever need you face tomorrow believe that he is able to meet all your needs according to his glorious riches today, and then praise him for answered prayer. After all, Jesus said, “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.”

God-tracking is praising God today for meeting your needs tomorrow.

Lord bless

GOD-TRACKING IS REMAINING ON TRACK WITH GOD’S PLANS EVEN THROUGH LIFE’S DETOURS

trACker 547The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

31 July 2015

Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is remaining on track with God’s plans even through life’s detours

Welcome new subscribers to trACker!

Twelve years ago I began producing the e-mail devotional, trACker. trACker developed out of a weekly mailing of the content I used to produce a radio programme that I presented years back called, On Track. The programme was a 2-hour music show broadcast on Christian Voice International and heard by millions of people on shortwave, FM and the Internet. I was very honoured to be involved in this work and developed very many friends as a result, some of whom still subscribe to this mailing. Today trACker has become a weekly Christian e-devotional reaching many people via e-mail, blogs, a 60-second radio spot and a published book. If you have recently joined trACker then I say a hearty welcome! It’s wonderful to have your company and I hope that we will get to know each other well as we enjoy tracking God’s plans and purposes together.

The radio show, On Track came about as a result of an experience God once took me through. When I moved from South Africa to the United Kingdom with my family in 1996, the only opportunity I had was a potential job with a broadcasting company (which eventually turned out to be Christian Voice International). However, this job did not materialise until 15 months after we arrived on the shores of Great Britain. In this time I sought the Lord for anything to keep my family fed. One application I made produced a solid potential of an appointment but after several interviews I was turned down. In asking God why I went through the process – even with signs from him that I would be appointed – he said, “This whole course took place because you are simply on track with my plans for you.”

I have yet to understand why God sometimes takes us the long and often tough way round to track his will for our lives, but he does! What I do know is that he is sovereign and his ways are higher than our ways. The Bible tells us that God knows the plans he has for us. Scripture also says that if we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways then he will direct our paths. If those paths take us the long way round then only God knows how many lives we my touch in the process and how much our faith will grow as we learn to trust him. Anyway, all things work together for the good of those who acknowledge God. This whole process is what I call, God-tracking.

So whatever difficulties or hurts you may be enduring today, be encouraged to stay on track with God’s plans and his purposes for you. Provided you continue to acknowledge the Lord and trust his will for you, then you will always find yourself precisely where he wants you to be in life. Remember that he is your Invisible Champion and he will never leave you nor forsake you.

God-tracking is remaining on track with God’s plans even through life’s detours

GOD-TRACKING IS RESTING IN GOD’S TRUTH WITHIN MORAL CONFLICT

trACker 546The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

24 July 2015

Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is resting in God’s truth within moral conflict

I believe the time has come when we who believe in the scruples and the moral absolutes of God’s word – the Bible – will be attacked more and more for the ethics of our faith. I believe the era of true freedom of Christian belief has come to end, worldwide. In some countries like North Korea Christians are being severely persecuted for the faith even to the extent of execution. However, in the so-called Christianised West, true biblical Christianity is being persecuted far more subversively. Even under the guise of religious freedom, those who adhere to the indisputable absolutes of God’s word are being ridiculed, ostracised and, at worst, prosecuted for standing up for their principles. But we are encouraged by the words of Jesus when he said, “If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, the world hates you.” And he said, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

You may find yourself facing opposition for your beliefs in the principles, purposes and precedents of God’s word today (and that opposition may come from both within the Church and outside of its camp). Perhaps you’ve been accused of being dogmatic about a moral precept found in the Bible. It could be you’re facing a challenge to your belief in the fullness of the Holy Spirit’s outworking in your life. Or maybe you are simply being ridiculed for your flat-line approach to a moral issue at work, at home or even at church. If that’s you then let me encourage you to keep your heart pure with no hidden egotistic agenda on your part, and always walk in the truth! God will always vindicate the truth because Jesus is the Truth!

The Bible says that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the evil satanic forces behind the actions of men. In 1 Peter chapter 5 it says that our enemy – the devil – prowls around like a roaring lion seeking to devour us. However, note what the Spirit says through Peter in the verses before this. He says, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” Therefore, our fight is not with those people who attack us but with the spiritual forces behind these attacks. Therefore, we ought to simply and humbly cast our cares onto Jesus.

If you are under attack today for your Christian scruples or your unequivocal belief in God’s word then be strong in the strength of your Lord and know that he will vindicate you. Only stay true to the truth!

God-tracking is resting in God’s truth within moral conflict.

Shalom

Quote of the Week A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.
“The simple truth is, because objective, external truth and morality exist, we cannot build an argument against objective, external truth and morality without falling back on objective, external truth and morality.” --- Frank Peretti

Don’t Give Up, Look Up!Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus!

Thank you for your peace within this conflict

Pray:“My Father God, I feel so abused today. It feels as though people are ganging up against me because of my belief in the principles of your word (even some so-called Christian people). Please forgive me if I have reacted in selfish ambition and please reveal to me every time I’m tempted to do so. Lord, I cry out to you to vindicate the truth and help me walk according to that truth. I pray for those who are bullying me that you will help them to come to terms with the truth. But I take my stand against the satanic forces behind this conflict in Jesus Christ’s name and rebuke the lies of the enemy! I put on your whole armour of God – truth, righteousness, faith, the Word of God, the blood of Jesus as my salvation upon my head and the word of my testimony upon my feet. Thank you for your peace within this conflict. Amen.”
