“So, take a step back from your hectic routine today and allow yourself to dream of great adventures and aspirations according to the plans your God knows he has for you.”

John 10:10 (KJV)
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Someone once said that the tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it. So many of us, me included, have great dreams and aspirations in life but end up procrastinating so long that we become bored and fail to make the most of the opportunity.

The truth is, now is the hour! The Bible tells us that if we hear God’s voice we need to respond and enter his purposes, today. Why is it then, that we hold back on living out our new lives in Christ? Is it because we think Christians can’t have fun? The truth here is, Jesus did not only come to give us life after death but he came to give us abundant life, starting now! The Christian life begins with entering God’s rest the moment one accepts Christ as Lord. He enjoys the rest of life in abundance from that moment on.

Jesus is called the Life. When Christ enters our hearts, we enjoy the promise of eternal life after death but we also gain the abundance of life before death. Living for Christ is no humdrum event. Living for Jesus is exciting, challenging and rewarding. We enjoy the rewards of God in this life by faith; those who track God’s will in faith are rewarded by him.

The Lord has so many plans for those who track his will by faith. God’s plans are for a prosperous life, full of peace and hope for a good future. God’s plans will take us beyond our wildest imaginations. If it is true that Jesus gave us abundant life then let’s step out in faith today and lay hold of those plans he has for us!

Perhaps you’re a procrastinator, like me. Augustine said, “God has promised forgiveness to your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow to your procrastination.” If you are a procrastinator then repent of it and seek the Lord to help you accept God’s exuberant plans for your life. The Christian walk is more than a set of religious rituals. The Christian walk is a lifestyle of worship to be celebrated every moment of every day. Tracking God’s plans involves more than just Sunday morning kisses; it involves filling our daily lives with moments of intimate fellowship with Abba Father.

So, take a step back from your hectic routine today and allow yourself to dream of great adventures and aspirations according to the plans your God knows he has for you. Then step out in faith and enjoy the abundant life that you have in Christ, today!

God-tracking is enjoying full life in Christ, today.

I claim your plans and your future for me

”Dear Father God, thank you so much for the promise of eternal life that I have in you, through Jesus. I am so grateful for the life I will enjoy in the hereafter but I’m also so grateful that the life you have given me, through Jesus, in the here and now. I commit all my life to you and acknowledge you in every aspect of my life: my relationships, my job, my church, my dreams and my ambitions. I praise you for abundant life and seek your plans for that life. Guide me in my aspirations and lead me in my desires. I claim your plans and your future for me. “He who knows past, present and future has everything lined up for your life. Indeed, there are no accidents in the Christian life. Your life is a poem, beautifully planed by God.”

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them

"There are no accidents in the Christian life. Everything is beautifully planned by God," words of seasoned Bible teacher, Derek Prince. Derek Prince was a very intellectually successful young man with great academic potential. When he discovered the truth that we are all lost in sin and can only be made right with God by his grace, through faith, he surrendered his life to God’s workmanship.

Derek Prince teaches that we are saved to serve God; we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. He sensed the call of God on his life when he married a lady who ran an orphanage. In an instant, he became a father to eight girls. Derek Prince progressed to become one of the most profound Bible teachers of the late 20th century. He says that God puts us in positions we are often not qualified for but his grace qualifies us for every aspect of life and work. As Derek Prince points out, the original Greek for the word, workmanship, is poiēma, the same word from which we get the English word poem.

You are God’s poem. He has penned your life with precision and perfection. If you continue to acknowledge God in all your way, he will direct your life’s track according to his perfect poetic plan for you. God knows the plans he has for you, plans for welfare, peace and success. Nothing happens by chance in God’s plans. If you keep your mind stayed on him, he will guide you according to his perfect will. He who knows past, present and future has everything lined up for your life. Indeed, there are no accidents in the Christian life. Your life is a poem, beautifully planned by God.

God-tracking is no accident

WHEN FAITH GIVES WAY TO TRUST

“Yet, there are those times when we cry out to God in faith but he remains silent. This is where faith gives way to trust. Faith is confidence in God’s action while trust is confidence in God’s inaction.”

Psalm 37:23,24 (KJV)
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Corrie Ten Boom said, “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” I have personally found there is a difference between trusting God and having faith in God. Have no doubt, faith pleases God and we need to walk in faith. But trust is slightly different to faith.

Scripture tells us that faith is the confidence in things hoped for. The word hope implies things yet to come. Indeed, faith is confidence that God will hear our cries for help for those things that we yet need. The scriptures make it plain that God will meet our needs and heal our bodies. God has promised to meet all our needs when we pray in faith, and he does. Yet, there are those times when we cry out to God in faith but he seems to remain silent. This is where faith gives way to trust. Faith is confidence in God’s action while trust is confidence in God’s inaction.

God-tracking is based on the fact that God has plans for our lives. To follow God’s plans, we need to seek his will. To walk in God’s will we need to acknowledge God in all our ways. When we do this, we relinquish control of our lives to the Lord’s direction. Our God is high and exalted. Our God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. He is our sovereign Majesty. His character is supreme, his power unlimited and his will is paramount. Therefore, we can trust that he is in control. You can trust the Lord with all your hearts and not lean on your own understanding, even when it seems he is silent.

So, whatever dilemma you are facing today, call on him and have faith that God will act on your behalf. And when it seems he does not act, simply trust him. He is in control, always. And we know that all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose.

God-tracking is trusting God knows what he is doing

Therefore, I will simply trust that you are in control and that you will meet my needs in your time, just in time

“O Lord I need your help! I feel like I’m drowning. I have been calling on you, night and day, for your touch but it seems you are silent. Yet, I know you hear me. I know you know what I face today. I do have faith, O God, that you will meet my needs as I make my requests with thanksgiving. You are faithful and you will do it. However, I see no action, yet. Therefore, I will simply trust that you are in control and that you will meet my needs in your time, just in time. Praise your name. Amen. ”

“The Holy Spirit in you is your inspiration to follow the plans that God knows he has for you to fulfil your purpose on this planet.”

1 Corinthians 2:16
“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

Thomas Carlyle said, “Have a purpose in life, and, having it, throw such strength of mind and muscle into your work as God has given you.” One of my contemporary heroes of faith, Reinhard Bonnke, said, “God's Spirit is more than accurate. His directions come from the mind of omnipotence." Indeed, God has called you and me on purpose; he does nothing without intent. The premise of God-tracking is this, God knows the plans he has for you, plans for an inspired purpose. But where does that inspiration come from?

We read in 1 Corinthians chapter 2 that there exists in the world two types of people: the natural man and the spiritual man. (There are actually three types of people, there is also the carnal man but we don’t have time to chat about him today.) The natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God. The spiritual man, on the other hand, is one born of and filled with the Holy Spirit. He is the true Christian believer.

We also read in this chapter that the Holy Spirit knows the mind of God. The Spirit-filled Christian has the Holy Spirit in his spirit man. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, that is, the mind of Christ. We also read here, “But we have the mind of Christ.” Therefore, by God’s grace, the Spirit-filled believer’s directions come from the mind of omnipotence. That is to say, the Holy Spirit in you is your inspiration to follow the plans that God knows he has for you to fulfil your purpose on this planet.

So, go for it! Write that book, record that song, start that business, paint that painting, bake that cake, speak those gentle words, teach that Sunday School, lead that worship. Fulfil your purpose with the mind of Christ.

God-tracking is going for it with the mind of Christ.

Use me, guide me and help me to fulfil your purposes in my life by your Holy Spirit’s inspiration

“O Lord God, I praise you for the work of Jesus at Calvary. Because he died and rose again, I am freed from the bondage of sin and decay. And thank you that you poured out your Spirit – the mind of Christ – on all flesh, including me. Therefore, today I surrender my creativity and all my work to you to be inspired by the mind of Christ. Use me, guide me and help me to fulfil your purposes in my life by your Holy Spirit’s inspiration. Amen.”

“So, today I say to you, turn your life inside out and, in faith, live by the Spirit within and not the flesh without.”

Galatians 5:22-21
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

I once stood up to preach wearing my jacket inside out. I made no comment of the fact of the seeming lack of decorum in my attire and began ministering from 2 Corinthians chapter 5. My key verse was verse 17.

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come,” I said. “You see, when you heard the gospel and accepted Jesus as Lord of your life, something profound and supernatural occurred. When you confessed your sins to God, he, by his grace, forgave and cleansed you. When you asked Christ into your life, you were born again. Your spirit man became a new man. Your old natural man died. Yes, you became a new creature in Christ.”

I went on to describe how the inner man is renewed and made righteous by God’s righteousness. I quoted verse 21 adding that God imputes us with his righteousness in our inner man at the point of rebirth. “Our insides are made new; forgiven of sin and imputed with God’s righteousness,” I preached.

At this point, I took off my inside-out jacket and turned it the right way round and put it on again. “Therefore,” I said with a preacher’s gusto, “Live your life inside out!”

Dear GodTracker, if you have surrendered your life to Jesus and acknowledged God in all your ways; if you are born again by the Holy Spirit and have died to the old nature, why then do you still allow the old crucified man/woman to live on your outside? The old man is a man of depravity and sin. The old man is a man of despair and anguish. The old man is a man of disease and sickness. The old man is a man of poverty and deprivation. The old man is a man of loss, depression, anxiety and fear. The new man is none of these. The new man is victorious, healthy, loving, joyous, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle and self-controlled. The new man lives by the fruit of the Spirit.

So, I say to you today, turn your life inside out and, in faith, live by the new Spirit within and not the old flesh without.

God-tracking is turning your life inside out

May the beauty and the majesty of your pure life shine out of me everywhere I go

“Father God, I praise you that you caused Jesus to become sin for me, though he was guiltless, that I might become your righteousness. I confess Christ as my Lord and saviour and believe he died and rose again to set me free from sin. Praise you that YOUR righteousness now lives within my spirit man. Thank you, Father. Therefore, I choose today to turn my life inside out that your goodness, victory and love may be seen on my outside. Forgive me for concealing the good nature you recreated in my heart. May the beauty and the majesty of your pure life shine out of me everywhere I go. May the fruit of your Spirit be evident in my daily life. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”

“He plans to build you up, turn your mourning into joy and reward the work of your hands. Just place your hope for the future in his hands.”

Psalm 90:17
Let the favour of the Lord our God be upon us and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands.

When I sat down to have my morning devotions yesterday, I was feeling not a little despondent. I’ve recently endured some life-changing events in my work and ministry that have left me feeling demotivated. “Why the changes, Lord,” I prayed. “I’m very grateful for all you have given me and the great opportunities I have for ministry, but sometimes I feel there is no fruit to what I do.” Have you ever felt that way, like you’re slogging away at life, burning the candle at both ends only to go to bed at night feeling unrewarded? That’s how I felt when I prayed.

After complaining to God, I turned to the scriptures for my daily reading. I was reading from Jeremiah. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my life verses. It reminds us that God knows the plans he has for us, plans for welfare, prosperity and peace; to give is a hope and a future. I was reading in chapter 31 yesterday. My eyes fell on the words, “I have loved you with an everlasting love… I will build you, and you shall be built… I will turn their mourning into joy… for there is a reward for your work…” and “there is hope for your future, declares the Lord.”

The Lord does have a plan for you, a plan for a blessed and successful future. Though you may feel despondent and demotivated at times, he never does. God has confidence in his plans for you. He has loved you with an everlasting love. His plans are to build you up, turn your mourning into joy and reward the work of your hands. Just place your hope for the future in his hands. Don’t give up, look up and fix your eyes on Jesus, the author of your life.

I thank the Lord that he lifted my spirits and restored my optimism as I prayed. When I read these words, he turned my despair into cheer.

God-tracking is placing your hope in the rewards of God.
