“Moses discovered, when he led the Israelites to the shores of the Promised Land, that the Lord God was the One alongside him all the way, helping him do what he could not do by his own ability. So is the Lord your Helper, too.”

Psalm 54:4
Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life

Moses was already an old man when he experienced the Lord’s call to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian captivity. He was watching over his father-in-law’s sheep one day when the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a burning bush. “I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring my people out of Egypt,” he said. Moses was flabbergasted at the call of God for such an auspicious task. He resisted the call of God by saying, “Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue. Oh, my Lord, please send someone else.” In reply, God said, “I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Moses obeyed the call of God and, with God’s help, went on to become one of the greatest leaders and prophets Israel was to ever know.

Do you sense the call of God on your life but don’t feel qualified to take it on? Are you facing a new task at work or a new role in a new job but feel intimidated by the learning curve? Perhaps you are working hard at school, college or university but are battling to take it all in. Whatever you may be facing today; whatever is intimidating you; whatever it is you feel unqualified to do, as Moses did, rest assured in the knowledge that the Lord your God is your helper. He who is omniscient and omnipotent will be your strength and your help in your time of need.

Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit after his return to the Father. He said, “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” If you know Jesus as Lord and Saviour, the Holy Spirit is in you and with you in every scope of life. The Greek word used to describe him in the New Testament is paraclete, which means advocate or counsellor, the one alongside. Moses discovered, when he led the Israelites to the shores of the Promised Land, that the Lord God was the One alongside him all the way, helping him do what he could not do by his own ability. So is the Lord your Helper, too.

Dear Lord, I receive your help now, gladly. Help me to rest in your strength

“Dear Lord, I feel like I’m drowning. I’m faced with such a workload that I feel I can’t cope. Sometimes I feel I just don’t possess the skill set to do this thing. I need help! You, O Lord, are my helper. Your Holy Spirit is with me – alongside me – in everything. So, I turn to you now and cry out for your help! Help me to work this out. Help me to get this job done. “Grace is God’s doing and God did it when he strengthened his Son to obey his will through the cross. And God will do it to strengthen you through your trial to follow God’s paramount will for your life.”

Hebrews 12:2
…looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Our God is high and exalted. He is our sovereign Majesty. His character is supreme, his power unlimited and his will, paramount. Jesus, facing certain crucifixion at sunrise, sought the will of Father God in the garden. We often forget that Jesus was as much a man as you and I are.

It was past midnight as he prayed in Gethsemane. His friends had fallen asleep a stone’s throw away from where he knelt in the dust. He was under such strain that the capillaries in the skin of his face burst, causing blood to mix with sweat. “Ah, Abba! Would that I did not need to go through with this. If it is your will, please take this cup from me.” Jesus faced the cup of God’s wrath because of your sin and my sin. “Yet not what I will, but what you will.” With that, an angel from God stood by him to give him strength.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God – God in the flesh. Yet, in Gethsemane we see his humanity revealed. Indeed, he is Son of God and Son of Man. As a man, Jesus had a choice. He could have simply stood up, woken Peter, James and John, and gone back home to bed. This was one of the final temptations that Jesus faced. Yet, he resisted. The Son of Man cried out to God his Father but God’s will was firm, and, thank God, Jesus submitted to the will of God.

Some may say that Jesus showed weakness in Gethsemane. Indeed, his flesh might have appeared weak but his Spirit was strong. Through this account of Jesus in Gethsemane, we have a clear example of faith. Faith is the ingredient that took Jesus through his trial. And faith is the ingredient that will take you through yours.

We are saved by grace through faith. Grace is God’s doing and God did it when he strengthened his Son to obey his will through the cross. And God will do it to strengthen you through your trial to follow God’s paramount will for your life.

God-tracking is remaining true to God’s will by the strength of his might

Thank you that your plans – your will – for my life are always for my good and your glory

“O Father God, sometimes I find it so difficult remaining true to your will. However, from the example of Jesus in Gethsemane, I rest in your might to give me strength to follow your will. Your grace is sufficient for me to do whatever you call me to do. So, like Jesus, I look through the trial ahead of me and see myself victorious on the other side. Thank you that your plans – your will – for my life are paramount and always for my good and your glory. Amen.”

“He has not forgotten you and he knows the plans he has for you. Your Lord cares about every detail of you. Rest assured, your God never forgets a name.”

LISTEN TO GODTRACKER ONLINE

Exodus 33:17
And the Lord said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favour in my sight, and I know you by name.”

One of my failings in life is the inability to remember people’s names. It is most frustrating, and embarrassing, when I bump into someone who I have known for years but forget their name. “Hi… er… so good to see you again. How are you?” all the while my brain is thrashing about in its archives, desperately trying to put a name to the face. It’s not that they are any less important or not dear to me, it’s just that their name illudes me. Thankfully, I have a very capable wife on hand who always remembers people’s names. And that’s important because your name is who you are.

It’s a profound reality that the eternal Almighty God knows you by name, and he never forgets a name. By the intimacy of his Holy Spirit, he knows you personally. He even knew you before you were born. The poet, King David, wrote, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb,” and Jeremiah the prophet quoted God’s words to him saying, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Paul the apostle wrote in his epistle to the Corinthians, “Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

Your Lord God knows your name. Your Lord knows who you are. He knows every detail about you, past present and future. Jesus said that Father God even knows the number of hairs on your head. How amazing is that? So have no doubts, you are wrapped up in his love; you are safe in his hand; you are seated with Christ in God. He has not forgotten you and he knows the plans he has for you. Your Lord cares about every detail of your life. Rest assured, your God never forgets a name. So, roll your life onto him and walk in trust that he will –yes, he will – see you through every calamity of life.

God-tracking is knowing the Almighty knows you by name

“He has saved you and called you to a holy calling, not because of your works but because of his own purpose and grace. Grace is God’s doing.”

2 Timothy 1:9
God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began

David Livingstone was a famous missionary who helped open up Africa to the gospel of Jesus. He was a trained and talented doctor with great prospects of a very successful career, before entering the mission field. His brother was also a doctor. When David informed his brother that he was giving up medicine to follow God’s holy calling into missions, his brother ridiculed him saying, “I don’t want that kind of life. I want to make a name for myself.” Today David Livingstone’s brother is mentioned in the Encyclopaedia Britannica. He has one line stating that he is the brother of David Livingstone while David has 16 paragraphs describing his life and work.

As Christian believers, you and I are saved by God’s grace, through faith. Jesus, God’s eternal and holy Son, came from the Father to earth to bear the consequences of our sins upon the cross. When he rose from the dead, he opened the way for you and me to have our sins removed and to boldly approach God’s throne, in faith. Therefore, we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.

Like David Livingstone, your Lord has many, many good things lined up for you. He has saved you and called you to a holy calling, not because of your good works but because of his own purpose and grace. Grace is God’s doing. God did it when he saved you through the blood of Jesus and God will do it through you as he has called you to serve him, by his grace.

So, hold onto the promise of God’s purpose to use you wherever you are. Remember, he knows the plans he has for you, plans for wellbeing and success, with a hopeful future. And when the devil comes against you to thwart God’s plans for your life, stand strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

I offer my life to you today, to serve you as you call me to serve

“O Lord, I praise and thank you for your grace. Your grace has saved me and your grace equips me to serve you. I offer my life to you today, to serve you as you call me to serve. Help me not to depend on my own skills or my own efforts to achieve the great things you have in store for me. Help me, O Lord, to simply follow your supreme directions for my life. And use me, Lord. I submit myself to your hand. Use me in my family, use me in my church and use me for your glory in my workplace. Guide me according to the plans you know you have for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”

“So, take a step back from your hectic routine today and allow yourself to dream of great adventures and aspirations according to the plans your God knows he has for you.”

John 10:10 (KJV)
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Someone once said that the tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it. So many of us, me included, have great dreams and aspirations in life but end up procrastinating so long that we become bored and fail to make the most of the opportunity.

The truth is, now is the hour! The Bible tells us that if we hear God’s voice we need to respond and enter his purposes, today. Why is it then, that we hold back on living out our new lives in Christ? Is it because we think Christians can’t have fun? The truth here is, Jesus did not only come to give us life after death but he came to give us abundant life, starting now! The Christian life begins with entering God’s rest the moment one accepts Christ as Lord. He enjoys the rest of life in abundance from that moment on.

Jesus is called the Life. When Christ enters our hearts, we enjoy the promise of eternal life after death but we also gain the abundance of life before death. Living for Christ is no humdrum event. Living for Jesus is exciting, challenging and rewarding. We enjoy the rewards of God in this life by faith; those who track God’s will in faith are rewarded by him.

The Lord has so many plans for those who track his will by faith. God’s plans are for a prosperous life, full of peace and hope for a good future. God’s plans will take us beyond our wildest imaginations. If it is true that Jesus gave us abundant life then let’s step out in faith today and lay hold of those plans he has for us!

Perhaps you’re a procrastinator, like me. Augustine said, “God has promised forgiveness to your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow to your procrastination.” If you are a procrastinator then repent of it and seek the Lord to help you accept God’s exuberant plans for your life. The Christian walk is more than a set of religious rituals. The Christian walk is a lifestyle of worship to be celebrated every moment of every day. Tracking God’s plans involves more than just Sunday morning kisses; it involves filling our daily lives with moments of intimate fellowship with Abba Father.

So, take a step back from your hectic routine today and allow yourself to dream of great adventures and aspirations according to the plans your God knows he has for you. Then step out in faith and enjoy the abundant life that you have in Christ, today!

God-tracking is enjoying full life in Christ, today.

“He who knows past, present and future has everything lined up for your life. Indeed, there are no accidents in the Christian life. Your life is a poem, beautifully planed by God.”

Ephesians 2:10
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them

"There are no accidents in the Christian life. Everything is beautifully planned by God," words of seasoned Bible teacher, Derek Prince. Derek Prince was a very intellectually successful young man with great academic potential. When he discovered the truth that we are all lost in sin and can only be made right with God by his grace, through faith, he surrendered his life to God’s workmanship.

Derek Prince teaches that we are saved to serve God; we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. He sensed the call of God on his life when he married a lady who ran an orphanage. In an instant, he became a father to eight girls. Derek Prince progressed to become one of the most profound Bible teachers of the late 20th century. He says that God puts us in positions we are often not qualified for but his grace qualifies us for every aspect of life and work. As Derek Prince points out, the original Greek for the word, workmanship, is poiēma, the same word from which we get the English word poem.

You are God’s poem. He has penned your life with precision and perfection. If you continue to acknowledge God in all your way, he will direct your life’s track according to his perfect poetic plan for you. God knows the plans he has for you, plans for welfare, peace and success. Nothing happens by chance in God’s plans. If you keep your mind stayed on him, he will guide you according to his perfect will. He who knows past, present and future has everything lined up for your life. Indeed, there are no accidents in the Christian life. Your life is a poem, beautifully planned by God.

God-tracking is no accident
