HE WILL BRING YOU THROUGH

“Your Lord knows the difficulties you face today and he is in the thicket with you. Do not lose heart, he will bring you through it all.”

Isaiah 54:10
For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,”

Oswald Chambers said, “We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.” It’s guaranteed, difficulties will come in life. Stormy times will happen, but they will not reduce God’s word to you. Listen: “Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines,

the produce of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer's; he makes me tread on my high places.”

Jesus is our greatest example of endurance under difficulty. All his life on earth, he knew who he was. He knew he was God’s chosen and anointed One, the Messiah. He knew the prophets said that the Messiah would be a servant king, not a great political leader. As the Servant King, Jesus knew he would suffer dejection, rejection and an intensely torturous physical death. Yet we read that in the Garden of Gethsemane when he had the option to walk away from his trouble, he chose to do the will of God and submit to the cross. We read that Jesus looked through the cross, scorned its shame, and saw himself victorious on the other side of his difficulty. He set his mind on things above and trusted the Spirit of God to raise him from the dead.

The word to you today is, in the thick of your difficulties, don’t give up, look up!  Your Lord knows the difficulties you’re facing and he is in the thicket with you. Do not lose heart, he will bring you through it all. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for you an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as you look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. Indeed,
pray with your eyes on God, not on your difficulties.

God-tracking is trusting God to bring you through.

I set my mind on your love, peace and power to get me through this time of difficulty

“O Father God, I know you know all about me. You know what I face today and what the future holds. I believe you are always with me, even in the thick of difficult times. So, I choose not to give up on life but lift my eyes and look up into the face of Jesus. I set my mind on your love, peace and power to get me through this time of difficulty. In the name of Jesus. Amen.”

“If you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and have committed your life to him then you are in Christ. What an auspicious position of vantage. Therefore, may we set out hearts on things above. All we are and all we do is all about Jesus!”

Colossians 3:17
A
nd whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

“It’s all about Jesus.” I sensed the words of the Holy Spirit burn in my heart as I gazed out the window while in prayer. I’d sat down on the floor in my room next to the window, as I usually do when I have my time of devotions in the morning. I was praying about my work. I currently have several irons in the fire and often become so consumed with my work that I forget why I do what I do.

One of my favourite chapters in the Bible is Colossians chapter 3. The chapter begins with the words, “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God,” (NIV). Further on we read that whatever we do in life as Christian believers, we are to do in the name of Jesus. That is, every aspect of our life and work (whatever that work might be) needs to be done with one focus: Christ.

The words “in Christ” appear 97 times in the English Standard Version of the Bible. You are a new creation in Christ. You have all your needs met in Christ. You enjoy every spiritual blessing in Christ. And you are raised up and seated in heavenly places in Christ. If you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour and have committed your life to him then you are in Christ. What an auspicious position of vantage. Therefore, may we set out hearts on things above. All we are and all we do is all about Jesus!

Dear God, my life is all about Jesus

“Dear God, thank you so much that, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I have been reconciled to you. I confess Jesus as my Lord and God and believe in my heart that he died and rose again. Therefore, I believe I am found in Christ. My life is hid in Christ. You meet all my needs in Christ. You lead me on the track of your will, in Christ. So, I set my mind on things above and commit my work and life to serving Jesus. Dear God, my life is all about Jesus. Amen.”

“He has not forgotten you and he knows the plans he has for you. Your Lord cares about every detail of you. Rest assured, your God never forgets a name.”

LISTEN TO GODTRACKER ONLINE

Exodus 33:17
And the Lord said to Moses, “This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favour in my sight, and I know you by name.”

One of my failings in life is the inability to remember people’s names. It is most frustrating, and embarrassing, when I bump into someone who I have known for years but forget their name. “Hi… er… so good to see you again. How are you?” all the while my brain is thrashing about in its archives, desperately trying to put a name to the face. It’s not that they are any less important or not dear to me, it’s just that their name illudes me. Thankfully, I have a very capable wife on hand who always remembers people’s names. And that’s important because your name is who you are.

It’s a profound reality that the eternal Almighty God knows you by name, and he never forgets a name. By the intimacy of his Holy Spirit, he knows you personally. He even knew you before you were born. The poet, King David, wrote, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb,” and Jeremiah the prophet quoted God’s words to him saying, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” Paul the apostle wrote in his epistle to the Corinthians, “Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

Your Lord God knows your name. Your Lord knows who you are. He knows every detail about you, past present and future. Jesus said that Father God even knows the number of hairs on your head. How amazing is that? So have no doubts, you are wrapped up in his love; you are safe in his hand; you are seated with Christ in God. He has not forgotten you and he knows the plans he has for you. Your Lord cares about every detail of your life. Rest assured, your God never forgets a name. So, roll your life onto him and walk in trust that he will –yes, he will – see you through every calamity of life.

God-tracking is knowing the Almighty knows you by name

HIS HAND IS ON YOURS IN YOUR LOSS

“If you are suffering bereavement today your Lord knows all about it. He loves you deeply and his Word is comforting. But more than anything, know that he is alongside you at this minute with his hand on yours, silently weeping with you.”

John 11:35
Jesus wept.

Queen Victoria heard that the wife of a labourer had lost her baby. Having suffered deep sorrow herself, she wanted to express her sympathy. She called on the bereaved mother and spent time with her. Later, neighbours asked what the queen said. "Nothing," replied the grieving mother. "She simply put her hands on mine, and we silently wept together."

Recently the son of good friends of mine passed away. He was only in his early 40s and died alone one night in his sleep. It was a great shock for me. I know him well. It’s always such a tragedy when a child dies before his parents. His mom and dad were greatly instrumental in my life during a trying crisis many years ago. When their son died, I wanted to call them and express how sorry I was. I wanted to tell them how much they meant to me and how sad I was at the passing of their youngest. I had so many words to say, but the Holy Spirit prevented me from uttering one word. He led me to send them one simple message saying I was praying for them.

Sometimes words are just inadequate. Words often compound a problem like bereavement. Jesus faced the death of a friend. Lazarus had been ill for some time. His sisters called on Jesus and asked him to come heal their brother but he delayed in going. Jesus knew that he would raise Lazarus from the dead to the glory of God. However, Lazarus’ family did not have this insight. When Lazarus died, Jesus did not offer copious words of comfort or meaningless gestures of solace. The account in the gospel of John says that Jesus knew he would raise Lazarus from the dead yet we see that he was deeply grieved at the family’s loss. Lazarus’ relatives did not understand that Jesus would bring him back to life, yet Jesus did not offer endless words of comfort he merely wept with those who wept.

If you are suffering bereavement today your Lord knows all about it. He loves you deeply and his Word is comforting. But more than anything, know that he is alongside you at this minute with his hand on yours, silently weeping with you.

I place my faith in your restoring power and take comfort from your hand

“Dear Lord, thank you so much that you are with me in every situation of life. You are my Comforter, Holy Spirit. I need your comfort today. Words aren’t enough to help me get through this loss. Your power to love is all the condolence I need. Thank you for the story about how you simply wept at the grave of Lazarus. I know you weep with me when I weep and rejoice with me when I rejoice. Yet, I know, too, that you have the power to heal and deliver. So, dear Lord, I place my faith in your restoring power and take comfort from your hand. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS DELIGHTING IN THE GOD OF YOUR SUCCESS

The Lord desires to grant you the desires of your heart. He has great and wonderful plans for you –plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

C.S. Lewis notes how believers often underestimate the full riches God has for His children. “If we consider the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that our Lord finds our desires, not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea.”

In Psalm 37 we read that if we take pleasure in seeking the presence of God then he will grant us the desires of our hearts. If you know Christ as Saviour then you are seated in him in heavenly places; you have a vantage point in Christ! And in the Torah God says, “God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand.” In the Proverbs we’re reminded that if we commit our work to the Lord our plans will be established. And finally, in Hebrews 11 God’s Word tells us that he will reward us if we seek him in faith.

The Lord desires to grant you the desires of your heart. He has great and wonderful plans for you –plans for your welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. God is your Father, the Father of heavenly lights from whom every good perfect gift comes. Your Lord desires for you to be successful in all you do. However, there is one condition: delight yourself in him.

GOD-TRACKING IS EXPECTING GOD’S BLESSINGS, IN HIS TIME

GodTracker 709The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“God knows your future. He is the one who controls your input and your output… you can trust him to provide all you will ever need for daily living, precisely when you need it!

God has an uncanny way of always turning up at the right place and at the right time, doesn’t he?  For instance, just the other week I was crying out to him - again - for his “blessings” on my life, whining and moaning about that common ol’ problem… money!  I do realise that I’m not alone in this cry to God because money (or lack thereof) is an issue that affects us all. I grumbled to God that I missed those days when he would surprise me with a spontaneous little gift here and there.  Why has it stopped?  Why haven’t I been “blessed” like that for a while?  What am I doing wrong?

When I finally stopped complaining, God reminded me that he, not only hears my prayers, but he knows exactly how and when to bless me. I sat down at my desk with an envelope that I found in my letterbox. I lazily opened it to discover a spontaneous anonymous donation towards my ministry!

You see, God doesn’t just hear your prayers for help, he knows everything about your need. And he knows more about your life than just the needs you might have at this moment. He knows your wants, your dreams and your deepest desires.  He knows your motives and the secrets of your heart.  He knows your frustrations and your fears.  He knows it all and he knows how to take care of it all.

The amount that I found in that envelope was not a large amount of money. However, what blessed me about God’s provision was the how and the when I received it. God was reminding me that he is still in control of my life, my family and my ministry, even when it seems to me, he is silent. Even when my need seems bigger than Mt Kilimanjaro, I know that he is the God who removes mountains and casts them into the sea! And he does so in his own timing.

God knows your future. He is the one who controls your input and your output. He is the one who opens and closes the doors of opportunity according to his perfect timing. Provided you keep your eyes on him and acknowledge him in all your ways, you can trust him to provide all you will ever need for daily living, precisely when you need it!

God-tracking is expecting God’s blessings, in his time.

I don’t care how dramatic or mundane my conversion was, dear Lord, I believe that my story matters.

Dear Lord, thank you that you are in control of my life. I reaffirm that I acknowledge you in all my ways and therefore trust you to send your blessings, in your time. Lord, I know that you know everything there is to know about me. You know my needs before I even know them. So, I place my confidence in your wisdom and grace to richly meet all my needs, in Christ. WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK

Author: Dudley Anderson
trACker 600
The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

23 September 2016

Dear God-tracker

WE NEED YOUR FEEDBACK

This e-devotional / blog is published once a week via godtracker.co.uk. It developed as a result of a radio programme I once produced called, On Track. Listeners of the radio show wrote in asking for copies of the content I shared on-air. I began sending this information out by e-mail once a week. These e-mails later developed into the e-devotional that has become known as, trACker. trACker is sent out to e-mail subscribers and published on several online blog sites every Friday.

I wish to express my deepest appreciation to you for supporting this ministry over the years. Your input invaluable. Therefore, from time to time I request your feedback in the form of a very short questionnaire.

I would greatly appreciate it if you would  email dudley@godtracker.co.uk with your answers to the following questions.

If you prefer, the questionnaire is also available online as an anonymous shttps://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RR7WBRT

1.    How long have you subscribed to or been reading this devotional?
2.    How do you read trACker? By e-mail or online on a blog or social media site? If so, please tell us which one.
3.    How has trACker helped you in your Christian walk?
4.    Please give us any comments that may help us produce a better service to you

trACker is based on the scripture that reminds us that God knows the plans he has for us. The truth of that statement is, it is indeed, God who knows the plans he has for us; we don’t, not until he reveals them to us, that is. Therefore, to remain walking in God’s will we need to continue to seek and track his plans for us by acknowledging him in all our ways and keeping our eyes on Jesus.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Every blessing
