Dear God Tracker

God-Tracking Is Making God’s Most of Your Bad Situation

Have you ever faced a situation where you’ve wondered, “How in the world will this ever work out for the good?” The Apostle Paul faced many situations like that, most of which were inflicted upon him by others. However, there was one occasion where he was part of the conflict himself.

A while after completing his profound first missionary trip across Asia Minor, Paul made plans to return to the churches he’d planted to encourage them. He intended to travel with Barnabas but Barnabas wanted to take his cousin, John Mark with them. Paul had a problem with this, because Mark had deserted them on the previous trip. This caused a rift between Paul and Barnabas, which caused them to part ways. In the place of Barnabas, Paul took a young Greek-born friend along with him on his second missionary trip. This friend’s name was Timothy. Through Paul, God raised this young man up to oversee the first mega-church - the church in Ephesus and also resulted in the writing of the Bible books of 1 and 2 Timothy. On the other hand, Barnabas took his cousin back home where Mark picked up his pen and scribed Peter’s account of the life of Christ. This account we still have today as the Gospel according to St. Mark. (Read the story in Acts 15.)

You see, as you track the purposes of God for your life, things will not always go according to your plans. Sometimes it may even seem that things go horribly wrong. But take courage, even as the Apostle himself wrote, “In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose,” (Romans 8:28).

God-tracking is making God’s most of your bad situation.

Blessings

I Commit My Ways to You So That My Plans Will Succeed

Proverbs 16:3
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.

Pray
“Lord, I know that God-tracking implies tracking your plans for my life and yet I so often find myself making my own plans without consulting you. I am sorry, Lord. I choose today to acknowledge you in all my ways – all my plans – and to trust you to direct my paths. I know your plans are for my good, even when it does not appear so to me. Help me deal with every conflict and every difficulty that I have at this time so that I will see your hand working all things out for my good according to your purposes. Today, Lord my God, I commit my ways to you so that my plans will succeed. Amen.”
