“A person who walks in integrity and uprightness places his hope in the provision and guidance of the Lord. And here’s the promise: When a righteous man walks in integrity his children are blessed after him.”

Proverbs 20:7
The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.

Let’s say you were an expert at flower arranging and had a fine bouquet of delicate flowers to arrange. If you were offered an ornate mink vase with a hole in its base or an old plastic milk bottle without a hole in it, to arrange your bouquet in, which would you choose? If you chose the vase, all the water would leak out and the flowers would quickly wilt. If you chose the milk bottle, your bouquet might not look as presentable but at least the flowers would survive. Though opulent and visually appealing, the mink vase lacked the integrity of the old plastic milk bottle.

Integrity is defined as the quality of being truthful with strong principles; the state of being whole and undivided. Jesus lived a life of integrity. He is called the way the truth and the life. He said things like, “If you abide in my word, you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” The Word of God is our standard of integrity.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to live a lifestyle of integrity. Living with integrity does not imply that you will be appealing to the world. Living with integrity does not imply that you will be the most popular kid on the block or the life of every party. But living with integrity will make you dependable and trustworthy. Living with integrity means being willing to admit to your weaknesses and being willing to bare insult and criticism for standing for the truth. People will always return to a person of integrity because they know they have no axe to grind. People of integrity hold the water.

A person who walks with integrity walks securely. A person who walks in integrity and uprightness places his hope in the provision and guidance of the Lord. And here’s the promise: When a righteous man walks with integrity his children are blessed after him.

God-tracking is walking with integrity.

SO, DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY

“Help me to be a person people can depend upon and help me to reveal the ethics of your word to the world around me.”

“Dear Lord, I admit that I have lacked integrity in certain areas of my life. I apologise and repent, in Jesus’ name. Help me now to always stand for the truth even if it means admitting to my lack. Help me to be a person people can depend upon and help me to reveal the ethics of your word to the world around me. All to your glory. Amen.”
