When the enemy of God’s designs attempts to distract you with his commotion and confusion, stop and look to Jesus.”

Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

“My days are so crazy,” said Mary describing an average day at the office. “I find myself running about trying to keep my head above water for 10 hours a day. People asking questions, demanding my attention, moaning and complaining about everything. Then when I get home my flatmate takes over from where my colleagues left off. The flat is always in a mess and her behaviour really bothers me. I just can’t find time to be alone to seek God anymore.” Mary had been a Christian for several years. She remembers how wonderful it was when she first gave her heart to Jesus. She says she found it so easy in those days to hear from God but now his voice has been drowned out by busyness and social intrusion.

The Christian life is a mindset. When we ask Jesus into our lives, we make a conscious choice to acknowledge God in all we do. This includes allowing him to fill our days – our minds – with his presence. Sometimes the hustle and bustle of everyday life clouds our mindfulness of Jesus. Yet, even in the face of all that goes on around us, he has not left us. For He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” By his grace, he is mindful of us.

When the enemy of God’s designs attempts to distract you with his commotion and confusion, stop and look to Jesus. Seek out a quiet space and set your mind on things above, not on things of this world. In prayer, take every thought captive in Jesus’ name and bind the confusion of Satan. It may take some effort; it may take a conscious act of your will but it will be worth it.

So, come to Jesus when you labour and are heavy-laden. He will give you rest. And remember, he is beside you, even in the turmoil of life!

God-tracking is a mindset.

IT’S ALL IN THE BIBLE. READ ALL ABOUT IT. (NKJV)

SO, DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY

“Help me to be constantly mindful of your presence.”

“Dear Lord, I find myself being so distracted by things and people around me every day. I know you are by my side even in the commotion of life. So, I take these distractive thoughts captive, In Jesus’ name. I resist the lies of Satan telling me that I’ve lost my first love and choose to set my mind on your peace and your comfort. Help me to be constantly mindful of your presence. For your glory, O Lord. Amen.”

What is GodTracker?
GodTracker is a weekly e-mail Christian motivational thought, written by Dudley Anderson, based on the premise that God has a plan for our lives.
