GOD-TRACKING IS CONFIDENTLY ENDURING YOUR TRIALS BECAUSE HE HAS GREAT PLANS FOR YOU

The old has gone and new things – plans for welfare and not for evil – are in store for you if you acknowledge God in all your ways and keep your eyes on Jesus.”

Isaiah 42:6
“I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you.

Isaiah the prophet was writing to his people, Israel and Judah, prior to Samaria being conquered by Assyria and Jerusalem being taken by Babylon, when he said, “I will take you by the hand and keep you.” Great calamity faced God’s people because of their arrogant rebellion. However, the God of mercy and grace still loved his little ones. The promise was, they would be restored. Seventy years after the Babylonian captivity, the Jews returned to Jerusalem. The prophet Jeremiah prophesied, “When seventy years are completed, I will fulfil to you my promise and bring you back to this place.” He continued, “‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.’” God had great and new things planned for his people. Through Isaiah, he said, “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare.”

The Jews are God’s chosen race – the elect of God. However, Jesus the Messiah came to reconcile not only the Jews to the God of Israel but all who would call on his name. God’s mercy and grace are extended to you, today. God has not replaced Israel with the Church. In Christ, you and I are grafted into the vine of Israel. In Christ, you and I are the elect of God. Therefore, In Christ, the Lord has called you in righteousness and taken you by the hand to keep you safe. He knows the plans he has for you. The old has gone and new things – plans for welfare and not for evil – are in store for you if you acknowledge God in all your ways and keep your eyes on Jesus.

You may find you’re facing trying times today. But take heart, like the Israelites under Babylonian captivity, God is saying to you, “Fear not, for I am with you. I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

God-tracking is confidently enduring your trials because he has great plans for you

Therefore, in Christ, I claim the promise that you are doing a new thing in my life and making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert

“O Lord, thank you that you loved all the world so much that you gave your only son, Jesus Christ, that if any of us believe in him we shall be saved from sin and have eternal life. Jesus has reconciled me to your purposes. In Christ I know you have great new plans for my future. O Lord, I repent of any sin – any rebellion, pride and immorality – and trust that you are faithful and just to blot out my transgressions for your name’s sake. Therefore, in Christ, I claim the promise that you are doing a new thing in my life and making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. I love you, Lord. Amen.”

“The Scripture promises that if we willingly and obediently submit to the newness of God’s purposes then we will eat the good of the land – we will prosper!”

Isaiah 1:19
If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land

I am a very nostalgic person. I don’t take lightly to change, particularly if that change means letting go of something I have always enjoyed. However, the scriptures tell us that God is the God of the new: in him, we are new creations; the Blood of Jesus is our new covenant and he leads us into new things, hidden things that we have not known. This does not, for one minute imply that God changes his mind or is inconsistent in any way. It does, however, imply that God is infinite and omniscient. In his foreknowledge he knows our frailty and fickleness and that we consistently require to change to grow in the knowledge of his will.

I recently endured a lifechanging event that compelled me to let go of an old dream and aspire to new things. Due to my reluctance to change, I yearned after my previous position to the point of nausea. I would open my eyes every morning with the wake-up-blues. You know the feeling – waking from a dream of the old days, you miserably mope for minutes before getting up, hankering back to the old season. Indeed, when God brought the changes into my life (and being convinced that God had brought the changes) I was obedient to follow his altered directing of my path, for I never fail to acknowledge him in all my ways. However, though obedient, I was not willing to change.

Listen to God’s word to you today: “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.” Note that: willing and obedient. God knows what he is doing in your life. He has eternal foreknowledge of your whole lifespan. If you continually acknowledge God in all your ways, he will direct your life track; and it is God’s will that matters. When God closes one door, he will open another, in his time. Sometimes, however, God closes one activity or involvement only to revive an old one and make it new. The scripture promises that if we willingly and obediently submit to the newness of God’s purposes then we will eat the good of the land – we will prosper!

Someone has said that science has come up with a term to describe an organism that never changes. That call it… dead! I learnt in a recent experience that God’s new is always new and his new is a living, breathing “new”. The key to remaining in God’s perfect progressive will is being willing to obediently change.

God-tracking is willingly tracking God’s glorious newness.

I choose now to accept the changes you have instigated and willingly submit to following your new plans for me

“Dear Lord, I realise now that I have been hankering after past dreams and aspirations; things that you have shut down in my life. Forgive me, O Lord. I choose now to accept the changes you have instigated and willingly submit to following your new plans for me. I believe you know the plans you have for me, but I don’t. Therefore, I acknowledge you in all my ways and trust you to work all things out for my good and your glory. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
