“Continue to acknowledge the Lord in all you do, look to Jesus and keep tracking what God wants for you.”

Isaiah 42:9
Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; Before they spring forth, I tell you of them.

“I want what God wants for me.” As I read Lyndie’s post I was reminded of one of my life verses from the Bible: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” The truth of that statement is, it is, indeed, God who knows the plans he has for me but I don’t. God knows what he wants for me. Therefore, I need to obediently look for and track God’s plans without relying on my own ideas and strategies in life. And that is what God-tracking is all about.

Sometimes, God’s plans may lead us on a successful and prosperous path for many years. If we acknowledge God in all our ways, he will open the doors to productive work. I always say grace is God’s doing, and by his grace, he will equip us well with talents and skills to do the work he has called us to do. So, let’s do it well with all our might as unto him. However, there may be times when the Lord says, “Good job, my son but the job is done. Now it’s time to move on to new things.”

I have been active in an area of ministry for more than 40 years. Thankfully, it’s been very productive and anointed. I have seen many people grow in their understanding and experience of God in this area of Christian living. However, the Lord, according to the plans he knows he has for me, has recently said, “the former things have come to pass.” By this, I sensed the Lord telling me to lay down this aspect of ministry, after all these years in obedience to his leading. Now, by his grace, the Lord has opened a new door for me and I look forward to new blessings.

Perhaps you face a similar situation today. My encouragement to you is to continue to acknowledge the Lord in all you do, look to Jesus, and always seek to track what God wants for you.

“Dear God, I want what you want for me.”

“Dear Lord, I praise and thank you for all the years you have used me in this work. I surrender the results of my productivity to your glory. But I have heard you call me to lay it down for the new plans you know you have for me. Help me to let it go, O Lord, and help me grab hold of all that you have for me. Dear God, I want what you want for me. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS CONFIDENTLY ENDURING YOUR TRIALS BECAUSE HE HAS GREAT PLANS FOR YOU

The old has gone and new things – plans for welfare and not for evil – are in store for you if you acknowledge God in all your ways and keep your eyes on Jesus.”

Isaiah 42:6
“I am the Lord; I have called you in righteousness; I will take you by the hand and keep you.

Isaiah the prophet was writing to his people, Israel and Judah, prior to Samaria being conquered by Assyria and Jerusalem being taken by Babylon, when he said, “I will take you by the hand and keep you.” Great calamity faced God’s people because of their arrogant rebellion. However, the God of mercy and grace still loved his little ones. The promise was, they would be restored. Seventy years after the Babylonian captivity, the Jews returned to Jerusalem. The prophet Jeremiah prophesied, “When seventy years are completed, I will fulfil to you my promise and bring you back to this place.” He continued, “‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.’” God had great and new things planned for his people. Through Isaiah, he said, “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare.”

The Jews are God’s chosen race – the elect of God. However, Jesus the Messiah came to reconcile not only the Jews to the God of Israel but all who would call on his name. God’s mercy and grace are extended to you, today. God has not replaced Israel with the Church. In Christ, you and I are grafted into the vine of Israel. In Christ, you and I are the elect of God. Therefore, In Christ, the Lord has called you in righteousness and taken you by the hand to keep you safe. He knows the plans he has for you. The old has gone and new things – plans for welfare and not for evil – are in store for you if you acknowledge God in all your ways and keep your eyes on Jesus.

You may find you’re facing trying times today. But take heart, like the Israelites under Babylonian captivity, God is saying to you, “Fear not, for I am with you. I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

God-tracking is confidently enduring your trials because he has great plans for you

Therefore, in Christ, I claim the promise that you are doing a new thing in my life and making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert

“O Lord, thank you that you loved all the world so much that you gave your only son, Jesus Christ, that if any of us believe in him we shall be saved from sin and have eternal life. Jesus has reconciled me to your purposes. In Christ I know you have great new plans for my future. O Lord, I repent of any sin – any rebellion, pride and immorality – and trust that you are faithful and just to blot out my transgressions for your name’s sake. Therefore, in Christ, I claim the promise that you are doing a new thing in my life and making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. I love you, Lord. Amen.”
