Dear God Tracker

God-Tracking is Making Decisions Based upon His Knowledge of Your Future

The funny thing about prophecy is once it is uttered it stands as God's word for all time. By the Holy Spirit the prophet Jeremiah once said, , "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11). Israel's prophet spoke these words to his people about their future after the Babylonian captivity. Indeed, a word to a nation many years ago but recorded in the Bible for all time to all people who call upon God's name; a word to you and me today. God's word never gets old. God's word never expires. And the truth of this prophecy is, it is God who knows his plans for us but we do not, not until we discover them, that is. This is why we need to commit ourselves to tracking God's plans and purposes day by day. And God's plans for our futures are wonderful!

In our finite existence here on earth we cannot see into the future, yet we are often called to make decisions that affect our futures. There comes a time in every plan when one encounters a choice between two or more options. It's like when an expert tracker comes across hard dry ground in the bush as he tracks his prey. Which way did the animal go? It's then that he calls upon his knowledge of the animal he is tracking and its influence on the environment. In the same way, when we come to crossroads in our life walk we need call upon our knowledge of the God we are seeking and his influence on our environment. This knowledge we gain by opening our hearts to his word through the Bible and fellowshipping with his Holy Spirit in prayer.

So he next time you face a life changing decision be sure to keep your eyes on God’s word and acknowledge his influence on your plans through prayer. Then simply go ahead and make your choice! It amounts to cause and effect: acknowledge the Lord and he will direct your paths. And even if you make the wrong decision then, because you have acknowledged God and are open to his voice, he will never-the-less direct your paths and bring you back on-track with his plans, always.

God-tracking is making decisions based upon his knowledge of your future.

Bless you as you track God.

Dudley

Verse of the Week

Proverbs 16:1

To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue.

Quote of the Week

A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God.  You were born by his purpose and for his purpose.” --- Rick Warren

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!

Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

I Know You Are Always Familiar With My Ways

Psalm 139 2-3

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

Pray

“Dear Lord I’m sorry that I’m so indecisive in my life. Help me to make decisions based upon your knowledge of my future. I recognise that you have plans for me but help me to seek your plans by keeping my eyes on you and my heart in tune with your word. Help me to hear you in the decisions I am about to make. I choose to acknowledge you in all my plans and so I trust that you will direct all my paths. Give me courage to step out in faith and help me be content with my choices, because I know you are always familiar with my ways. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
