Dear God Tracker
God-Tracking Is Boasting In the Cross of Christ
The whole world has gold-rush fever again. As we approach the height of the Olympic Games we notice each athlete and each country vying against the other to win that elusive Olympic Gold medal. It reminds me a little of how some of us live these days, particularly in the so-called Christian West. Perhaps it has much to do with Western culture in that we live in a state of continual comparison: capering our cars, our houses our careers our big screen home entertainment systems and even our churches. It’s like we’re in a constant gold-rush, rushing to stake our claim to the biggest and best for King “me”. Sadly, this does not portray the attitude of Christ.
The Bible says, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,” (Phil 2:5-6). Jesus had every reason to boast while he walked on earth. He was a great teacher, miracle worker and leader. Jesus is Emmanuel – God incarnate – equal with God, and yet when he lived among us he humbly put the needs of others before his own. In fact, God demonstrated his own love for us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. The culmination of Jesus’ humility was his dying on the cross, alone and dejected.
Dear God Tracker, we do indeed have every reason to boast: we are saved and delivered; we are the head and not the tail; we have every need met in Christ and we’re destined for glory! But all this is all only due to God’s grace and has nothing to do with our own achievements. This is perhaps why Paul said, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me,” (2 Cor 12:9). You see, Paul knew that Jesus had run the race and got the gold so that he (Paul) could be made more than a conqueror. And in God’s grace, I too stake my clam!
God-tracking is boasting in the cross of Christ.
Keep your eyes on Jesus

Verse of the Week
1 Peter 4:1-2
Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.
Quote of the Week
A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.
“We are absolutely nothing. We have nothing to be proud of. We have no abilities and nothing to offer God. The fact that he chooses to use us is only due to his grace. It has nothing to do with us.” --- Brother Yun
Don’t Give-up, Look-up!
Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!
In Christ I Am More Than a Conqueror
Romans 8:37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Pray
“O Lord God, I admit that I have been chasing after personal gain. I am sorry for my boasting and my self-seeking attitude. I ask your forgiveness and pledge to humbly serve you and live by your grace. Thank you that you are my strength and my exceeding great reward. Thank you the cross of Jesus has made a way for your grace to be my victory. I stand today in and by your grace and lay claim to your great purposes and your blessings – by grace – for my life. In Christ I have overcome! In Christ I have won the gold medal! In Christ I am more than a conqueror! Amen.”
