Dear God Tracker

God-tracking is humbly wearing Christ’s Gold Medal

The crowd roars as Michael Phelps rises to the podium to receive his medal at the London 2012 Olympics. What a feat. The athlete who has won the most gold medals ever gently lowers his damp head as the official hangs his 19th gold medal around his neck. No other swimmer – no other athlete - has ever achieved this accomplishment. With his team’s victory in the 4x200m freestyle, Michael Phelps became the greatest Olympian. What a hero! What a conqueror! However, when asked if his record would be broken, Michael Phelps replied: "Nothing's untouchable."

But there was hero of old who won a victory 2000 years ago that is still untouchable today. He competed in a race against all odds and won victoriously. Many had tried before to gain the triumph that he had gained but had failed, because of their sinful nature. But when this great athlete ran his race he ran as one sinless and perfect in every way. And it pleased the Official of his race to inflict him the consequence of the sin of all other runner. As our hero hung on his podium at the end of his race he did not cry tears of joy but painfully cried out, “It is finished,” and died. At that moment the crowd fell silent for Christ had made a spectacle of the forces of darkness, triumphing over them by the cross.

But this was not the end of the race at all. After he’d died our hero was taken down from his podium and placed in a tomb but only three days later he came alive again. By the power of the Holy Spirit and because he was sinless Jesus Christ rose from the dead! What a victory that was! Not only had he run the race and paid the price but he had set the world record for all eternity by rising from the dead and ascending to the right hand of God; a record never to be touched again.

However, what truly separates our hero from all other athletes of all time was the fact that after he had run the race, paid the price and gained the victory he graciously removed his Gold Medal and hung it on the necks of every athlete that had run with him saying, “No, in all these things, you are more than a conqueror.”

God-tracking is humbly wearing Christ’s Gold Medal.

God bless you

Dudley

Verse of the Week

1 Corinthians 9:25

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Quote of the Week

A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

“A defined vision gives us both a reason to run and something worth running after… any vision is only as effective as the cause to which it is attached.” --- Brian Houston

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!

Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

Already Gained Victory

Hebrews 12:1

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Pray

“Dear God thank you so much for sending Jesus to run my race and win the victory. I confess that I don’t have what it takes to win the gold. And yet you paid the price for my sin by dying on the cross and graciously made me more than a conqueror over all the world and the devil by winning the gold for me. Thank you O Lord my God! Thank you for the victory I have in Jesus! Thank you for the triumph Jesus gained at the cross and that he has made a way for me to have victory over all the forces of darkness. So now a choose to throw off all sin that hinders me and run the race you have marked out for me in already gained victory. Amen.
