“Scripture illuminates the path along which the Holy Spirit is leading me. Remember, the word will always confirm the actions of the Spirit while the Spirit always activates the word.”

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Immediately after Jesus had been baptised, according to the Law of Moses, the Holy Spirit led him into the wilderness where he fasted for 40 days. Now in his early thirties, Jesus had been brought up under the sound of the Torah and the prophets. He was steeped in the word of God. Undoubtedly, he would have checked that every decision he made was confirmed by the word of God. Now, in the desert, he comes under the attack of Satan. Satan attempts to tempt Jesus to abandon his calling as Messiah and bow to his macabre continence. Deviously, Satan quotes Scripture at Jesus when tempting him to sin.

The word of God is sharper than a double-edged sword, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. The word of God is a light to our path, guiding our every move in life. However, all Scripture is subjective to interpretation. That is, you can take a scripture (as did Satan in the wilderness with Jesus) and make it mean what you want it to mean. Taking Scripture out of context is exceedingly dangerous. Doing so can lead you in completely the wrong direction in life.

I have learnt to always use Scripture as confirmation of what the Holy Spirit has already placed in my heart. The Spirit often uses circumstance to direct our life’s track. When turning to Scripture for guidance we ask, firstly, do my circumstances line up with sound doctrine? If not, then I am being led astray. Secondly, do the verses I read in the Bible confirm the leading or desire I sense in my heart? If not, then my desires are contrary to the will of God. Scripture illuminates the path the Holy Spirit is leading me along. Remember, the word will always confirm the actions of the Spirit while the Spirit always activates the word.

God-tracking is using Scripture to confirm desire.

Don’t Give Up, Look Up & Pray

“Please guide my circumstances and desires to always line up with your word that I may make godly and accurate plans in my life.”

“Dear Lord God, thank you for your holy word. Thank you that you have inspired so many men to write the Scriptures and have preserved these writings through millennia for me to hold in my hands today. I acknowledge the power and purpose of your word to guide my life and I submit to the leading if the Holy Spirit to illuminate your word as a light to my path. Please guide my circumstances and desires to always line up with your word so that I may make godly and accurate plans. Amen. “

GOD-TRACKING IS TREKKING WITH FAITH IN THE PLANS GOD KNOWS HE HAS FOR YOU

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“Place your unconditional trust squarely in the hands of your Guide and his Map and then have faith that the plans he knows he has for you, will succeed.”

Matthew 28:20
“… And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

I remember trekking a short distance across a desert with my wife, Karen on a trip to Jordan. Our tour bus had parked up at a carpark and we were required to walk the rest of the way to a desolate desert spot, chosen by our guide, to reveal what the Negev desert was really like. After walking a few minutes, we lost sight of the bus and our destination was yet unseen. Everything looked the same. From where I stood, I had 360 degrees of opportunity. The journey was tedious, uneventful and seemingly void of progress. If it weren’t for our guide and the map his hand, I fear we’d be lost in the wilderness. I had placed my trust in his hands. I needed to have faith in him as our guide, the map in his hand. And I needed to have faith in his plan to deliver us safely to our destination.

Sometimes, trekking the plans of God can lead us through a seemingly desolate wilderness: the end of an era or the start of a new career; a move away from familiar friends or social environment; an unexpected change in ministry or church life. When this happens, we lose perspective; we lose sight of the old familiar pathways whilst still out of sight of the ultimate endpoint. The truth is, once we have seen the fulfilment of one goal, we need to be prepared to leave it behind and follow our Guide and his Map until we arrive at the new yet unseen destination.

Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and he will direct your life's track. First, look for his purposes and principles and then believe that he will add all the resources you'll ever need to achieve your goals. Place your unconditional trust squarely in the hands of your Guide and his Map and then have faith that plans he knows he has for you, will succeed.
God-tracking is trekking with faith in the plans God knows he has for you.

DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY

I have faith in your plans, even though I can’t see the goal from where I stand today.

“Dear Lord, I feel like I’m in a wilderness. There has been so much change in my life that I feel I’ve lost my way. Yet, I believe your hand is on me. I believe that these changes in my life are of you, so I commit my future to you. Help me to aim for your plans, though I can’t yet see the target. I truly acknowledge you in my work, my home life, my ministry, my relationships, my finances and my ambitions. I seek first your purposes and acknowledge you in every part of this journey. O Lord, I place my total confidence in the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the map of your word. I have faith in your plans, even though I can’t see the goal from where I stand today. Amen.”
