“But when Jesus died the veil was ripped in two revealing the glory of God to all who would come to him in faith. Through Jesus, the veil is removed enabling you and me to embrace God’s presence.”

2 Corinthians 3:16
Nevertheless, when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Accompanied by majestic music, the young bride slowly walked down the aisle arm in arm with her father. She looked beautiful. Her delicate white gown gently embraced her shoulders while a covering lace flourished to her ankles. Behind her flowed a long white train. The bride’s countenance was obscured by a soft white veil. Slowly, majestically, dad and daughter made their way to the altar to meet her groom, her radiant visage concealed to him. Through a veil dimly he gazed at her beauty. Reaching up, tears in his eyes, her father unveiled her face, kissed his daughter, and presented her to her husband. From that moment on the groom would be with his unveiled bride, embracing her presence.

When Moses descended from Mount Sinai after being in God’s presence for forty days his face was glowing. The sheer magnificence of the glory of the Lord Almighty had engulfed the man so that light radiated from his countenance. The people could not look at him. So, Moses covered his face with a veil. Moses had embraced the presence of the holy God such that God’s glory was evident in his face. To this day when Moses is read, a veil lies on their hearts. But when Jesus died the veil was ripped in two revealing the glory of God to all who would come to him in faith. Through Jesus, the veil is removed enabling you and me to embrace God’s presence.

Have you allowed the veil to be removed or are you standing concealed before the groom? Come to Jesus now and allow the Father to remove that veil. Open your heart and embrace God’s presence.

God-tracking is being uncovered in the presence of God.

“Oh Lord, you are high and exalted. Your glory fills the earth. I desire to live in your perpetual presence. Forgive me for keeping the veil over my face. Today I rip it off. Jesus, you revealed the presence of God to us when you died on the cross. Today I confess you to be Lord of my life and believe that you died and rose again to remove the veil that covers my face. “You face a choice today: to love or leave. Only by the grace of the One who loved you and gave his life for your life can you make that choice. So, above the lure to take the easy way out, I say you today, choose love.

John 15:13
Greater love has no one than this than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

John was confronted by the greatest decision of his life. He had recently changed the focus of his career but, unfortunately, his new business was failing. His income had all but dried up. He was depressed and despaired. John was married with 2 young children and though his wife was doing what she could to keep the family afloat, their finances were thread bear. John and Pam drifted apart and they fought almost every day. John thought that if he could only walk away and start over, he would be happy. He used to love his wife when things were good but now… John faced a choice: to love or leave.

Jesus had just eaten a hearty meal for Passover and taken a walk up the Mount of Olives with his friends to pray. It was late. The eastern horizon was shifting to gentle mauve hew. Jesus knew that in a short while, he would be arrested, convicted and sentenced to death by crucifixion. His friends had fallen asleep against the trees. He loved these guys and Jesus knew that Father loved the whole world. After all, he had said these words in his teaching: “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son,” and this love would be demonstrated by the event which was about to take place. He could have woken his disciples and led them back to town to go to bed. Jesus faced a choice: to love or leave.

Love is a choice. The butterflies and sparkles may have faded. The one you chose to say, “I do,” to, may not boast the same physique they had when you walked down the aisle. He or she may irritate you more than a thorn in the flesh. Your life circumstances may have changed and, as you face difficulties and trials at every turn, you may desire to simply walk away. You face a choice today: to love or leave. Only by the grace of the One who loved you and gave his life for your life can you make that choice. So, above the lure to take the easy way out, I say you today, choose love.

God-tracking is a choice to love.

“Dear God, forgive me for becoming self-consumed. I admit things are tough at the moment but circumstances are no excuse to stop loving the one you have given me to love. Forgive me for falling out of love. I know that real love is not romance. Real love is a choice to remain true, caring and devoted to my love. Above the lure to take the easy way out, I choose to love today, through thick and thin, in good times and bad, through sickness and in health, until death. Thank you for your love for me even when I become unlovable. Help me to follow your example of love. Amen.”

“Make a choice today to be single-minded in your pursuit of the plans of God. Set your mind on the Spirit and live in peace.”

Psalm 119:113
I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.

Author Christie Caine said, "Fix your eyes on Jesus because where you look you will go. What you behold you will become."

Kathryn was a talented young woman, filled with God’s Holy Spirit and anointed to preach the gospel. She had been touring her home country conducting evangelistic campaigns with great success. One day she met a handsome young man called Mark who pastored a church in a town where she was preaching. They spent many days together becoming very familiar with each other. After a short time, they fell in love. It was apparent that they might enjoy a prosperous future together. However, there was one obstacle to their happiness. Mark was already married.

Mark stood on the platform of the station. Kathryn was in the carriage, window drawn. She knew there was no hope for their future. She knew what God’s word said concerning adultery. Crucifying her wrong love, Kathryn decided to break off the relationship and fix her eyes on the cause of Christ rather than abandon his call for the delights of the flesh. She knew what the scriptures taught about marriage and divorce and decided to be single-minded in her pursuit of the will of God. Kathryn’s love for her God and his word was far greater than the tainted love of the flesh. The train pulled out of the station. Kathryn never saw Mark again.

By the inspiration of the Holy Spirit James writes, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” God’s word calls us to set our minds on things that are above, not on worldly things; to fix our eyes on Jesus and his purposes for our lives. If Kathryn had been double-minded in her approach to life (one eye on the desires of the Spirit and one eye on the desires of the flesh) she would have been spewed from the mouth of Christ. She knew well the teaching of Romans: “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit,” and “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Make a choice today to be single-minded in your pursuit of the plans of God because what you behold you will become. Set your mind on the Spirit and live in peace.

God-tracking is being single-minded for the purposes of God.

I repent of all wrong thoughts and ambition and choose today to fix my eyes on Jesus and my mind on things above. I know you have a plan for my life. Lord, I do not want to miss out on your plan. Jeremiah 23:29
Is not my word like fire, declares the LORD, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

“I just would not let go,” said a husband whose wife had fallen into adultery. I was watching a video of a young man called, Mike who was sharing the story of how his wife, Sharon had become involved with a work colleague. Mike and Sharon were both committed Christians. Mike was an elder in their church and his wife sang in the worship team. I was filled with compassion and admiration as he went on to explain how the affair had endured 6 months before, realising her folly, Sharon ended the affair. She repented before God and her husband. Broken and distraught, Mike went before the Lord. He loved his wife and was not prepared to give up the fight. Yet, he was filled with intense anger. The marriage was in shreds.

Reading the words of Jesus, Mike discovered that divorce was not God’s plan. God planned for a man and a woman to leave their parents and be united in flesh and heart. But Jesus said, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives.” Mike paused at these words. Was he hardening his heart? He had never stopped loving Sharon. Only disappointment and pride would prompt him to leave his repentant wife. Though she had committed sexual immorality, she had confessed and repented of her sin. “I could not let her go. I would not give up!” he said. “So, I chose to soften my heart and repent of my own sin of pride. I forgave Sharon and together we turned our eyes to Jesus. We sought his love for one another and firmly recommitted our marriage to the Lord. By his grace our marriage survived and is stronger now than it’s ever been. I love my wife more than anything in this world.”

A hardened heart is the hardest substance known to man. Only God’s Word can penetrate that wall; only the hammer of the Word of God can soften a hardened heart. Get into God’s Word and get God’s Word into you.

God-tracking is holding on with a softened heart.

I choose to repent of my pride and soften my heart. I fix my eyes on Jesus.

“Father, I’m sorry for hardening my heart. I realise that a hardened heat causes great discord and disaster. Because of hardened hearts wars have been fought and lives have been lost. Dear Lord, I commit my marriage to you, afresh. Forgive me for my part in all the conflict. I choose to love my wife/husband despite the hurts and disappointments. I choose to repent of my pride and soften my heart. I fix my eyes on Jesus and acknowledge you in every aspect of my relationship. For your glory, Lord. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS A TRIANGULAR RELATIONSHIP

GOD-TRACKING IS A TRIANGULAR RELATIONSHIP
1 Peter 4:8
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins
I always say that I live in a love triangle. In fact, it was at my wedding that the minister who married my wife and me, encouraged us to seek a three-part marriage. He said, “Unless your marriage has three people in it, it will become shaky and have every probability of failure.” Of course, he was encouraging Karen and me to include Christ as the third person in our marriage. Thankfully, we took his advice.
For more than 3 decades, Karen and I have enjoyed each other greatly. We are very much still in love but, as with any normal marriage, ours has endured many storms. There was a time, many years ago, when divorce knocked at our door. I’d given up my job to study for the ministry, which left Karen as the main breadwinner. With two young children and role reversal in the marriage, together with the pressures of full-time
study and financial difficulties, I took my eyes off Jesus and flagged in my devotion to my wife. However, since we had included God as the third person of our relationship, he graciously intervened, convicting me of my wrong attitude and softening Karen’s heart. I’m thrilled to say that our marriage not only survived but has flourished, since.
Every Christian relationship should be a three-part relationship. God-tracking requires that we acknowledge God in all our ways, not least of all, in our relationships. I have discovered that this love triangle is imperative to my marriage: Karen, Dudley and God Almighty. Any triangle comprises 3 sides. However, the most important side of any triangle is its base. Without the base in place, the 2 sides would float about and eventually collapse.
Jesus said, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” The Word of God and the intimate fellowship of the Holy Spirit need to form the base of any love triangle.
God-tracking is a triangular relationship.

Proverbs 3:6Matthew 7:24-27

Dear Lord, I commit my fight to you. Help me to have grace and strength to stand against my enemy
“Dear God, forgive me for not including you in all my relationships. I choose now to acknowledge you in every relationship I have with friends, colleagues and family. I confess your lordship over my most intimate relationship, and confess you as the base of my love triangle. Help us to always seek first your kingdom principles and your righteousness in ever choice we make. Help us to always seek your Word and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit in our relationship and so build our love-house on the Rock. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS A RELATIONSHIP NOT A RELIGION

trACker 557
The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

23 October 2015

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS A RELATIONSHIP NOT A RELIGION

It’s been said that true Christianity is a relationship and not a religion. I think it is bit like marriage. I think I can safely say that I know my wife sufficiently well enough to have a reasonable conversation with her. Because of my relationship with her (which is based upon openness and spontaneity) I don’t need to follow any set of rules or traditions in order to communicate with her or enjoy her company. Karen knows my deepest thoughts and I know hers, because we do not recite routine dialogue by rote. We are intimate and natural with each other. I know that at the end of a long hard day, for instance, I can pour out my heart to my wife and draw strength from her counsel. And though I do my best to make her happy I know that she is little impressed by any effort of mine to win her favour by false good works.

Religion is a striving for God's fellowship through rote rapacious recital, while true faith is worshiping God in Spirit and in truth. Religion is a striving for God's favour through one’s good works, while true faith is coming to God through Christ's good work. As a true follower of Christ I believe that do not have a religion; I have a relationship with God. This relationship begins with repentance and is based not on good works but on faith. As in my marriage I try to please my wife in intimacy so too in my walk with God I try to please him in faith. Faith pleases God. And faith is contrary to good works or rote prayer. Faith is spontaneous, intimate and rewarding.

What a privilege we enjoy as true Believers to come directly to Abba Father through faith in Jesus. What an honour to be able to talk to the Almighty as a man would talk to a friend. What a pleasure it is to spontaneously worship the God of heaven in the beauty of his holiness. Dear God-tracker, let us never, never take this privilege for granted! So, come to Jesus today if you’re feeling heavy burdened with religion and humbly yoke up with him in true intimate relationship.

God-tracking is a relationship not a religion

Verse of the Week

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Quote of the Week
A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

“Christianity is not a religion, Christianity is a supernatural revelation.” --- Kathryn Kuhlman

Don’t Give Up, Look Up!
Look up and Fix Your Eyes on Jesus!

I do love you very much and come to Jesus to relieve me of the burden of religion

Pray
“O Father God I realise now how important it is to simply walk with you by faith like Adam did in Eden. I see now that true Christianity is not a religion based or rote prayer or good works but a relationship based on love and faith. I want to walk with you in the intimacy of this relationship. I repent of my feeble efforts to earn your favour by good works. I want to pray in intimate freedom as I worship you in spirit and truth. Help me, Lord, to base my life upon your word and not human traditions. I do love you very much and come to Jesus to relieve me of the burden of religion. In Jesus’ mane I pray. Amen.”
