Dear God Tracker

You Are In the Same Place as the Glorious Riches of God

My son, Ryan was a budding gymnast when he was 5-years old. He could be found tumbling, jumping, running or flying through the air at any time he was awake. One evening after I had gone off to church, he and his sister were romping in his bedroom. With one rather elegant swirl and flip and flop, Ryan sailed through the air and tumbled head-over-hills onto his bed, which dare I point out, was next to a large plate glass window. Fortunately the curtains were heavy and closed at the moment his legs unfolded with the flair of an Olympic gymnast and his feet crashed through the pane of glass. “Uh, oh! That’s done it,” said his sister as Ryan sat staring at the curtain now blowing gently in the breeze.

At that moment a shriek of “What have you done!” was heard drawing ever closer up the passageway to his bedroom. “Look at that, Ryan,” said mom, “How in the world are we going to pay for a new pane of glass for that window? You know your dad doesn’t have a job. That window’s going to take about 250 rand to fix.” My wife left the room mumbling forlorn under her breath as she went. About a minute later, on approaching Ryan’s room with a brush and pan she heard him and his sister praying, “Dear Lord, sorry for breaking the window. Please give mom and dad the money to fix it.”

Totally oblivious to the affair taking place in Ryan’s room, I was packing up my guitar after church looking forward to returning home for a nice toasted cheese when a dear friend walked up to me. “I don’t know why,” he said, “but during the worship I sensed the Holy Spirit prompt me to give you this.” My friend handed me a sealed envelope. Gratefully thanking him I put the envelope in my pocket, aware that the Lord was yet again meeting my needs during these trying times of life.

When I arrived home my wife explained what had happened to the window. Thankfully no one was hurt but this was going to cost more money to fix than we had available to live on at the time. Then I remembered the envelope in my pocket. I reached in and pulled it out. Opening it slowly I discover, to my sheer delight, 25 neatly folded 10 rand notes.

Dear God Tracker, we live in precarious times. The world around us is teetering on the edge of the blade of economic failure. National debts are outrageous; inflation is rising beyond reason and unemployment is staggering. There is nowhere in the economy of this planet that we could be assured of peace and prosperity. However, as followers of Christ, we do not live by the economy of this world; we live by God’s economy. His word teaches that he will meet all our needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Now, if you know Christ as Lord then you are in Christ Jesus. As a God Tracker therefore, you are in the same place as the glorious riches of God.

God-tracking is living by God’s economy.

Every blessing

Dudley

Verse of the Week

Matthew 6:25
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

Quote of the Week

A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

“God is not concerned about how much you have; he is concerned about how much you need.” --- Kurt Erickson

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!

Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

My Father Owns the Cattle on a Thousand Hills

Psalm 50:10 & 12(b)
for every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills… for the world is mine, and all that is in it.

Pray
“My Lord and my Father, thank you so much that you are so mighty and full. The fullness of all that I ever have needed of is found in you. Nowhere on this planet can I find the sustenance that you give. Your grace in sufficient to meet all my needs, because of Jesus. Thank you that you have come to my rescue. Thank you that you are faithful to your word and that your promises are all true in Jesus. Today I put my faith in you for my financial needs, O Lord. I trust that you will meet all my needs according to your glorious riches in Christ Jesus. I say with confidence, my father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Amen.”
