GOD-TRACKING IS STAYING ALOFT BY MOVING FORWARD IN FAITH

I remember being awestruck when learning about the force of lift at school. It blew my mind to discover how just air could lift a 450-ton Boeing 747 off the ground. Because of its shape, a moving aircraft wing creates a higher air pressure below than above, resulting in the aeroplane being drawn upward by the low pressure above its wing. This force is called lift. However, the key to lift being effective on an aeroplane’s wing involves another law of physics – motion. For a fully laden 747 to become airborne, it’ is required to reach a speed of 180 mph (or 300 km/h). And then the craft must remain in motion with air flowing over its wings, to maintain lift and stay in the air. If a plane slows down, it will lose lift and begin to fall.

In Hebrews 12 we read that we ought to run with endurance the race that is set before us. Just as a plane needs to continue in motion to maintain lift, so a runner needs to continue in motion to complete his race. A productive Christian life requires motion. Tracking God’s good plans and purposes requires you and me to keep moving. Joshua was commanded by God to possess the promised land. God said to Joshua, “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you.” This would not have been possible if old Josh and his army remained put, They needed to advance with confidence.

God desires to bless the work of your hands very much. He desires to fulfil your dreams and meet your needs. He’ll give you every place your foot shall tread, as you acknowledge God in all your ways. He has plans for you; plans that will prosper you and fill your future with hope. All things in the life of a true God Tracker, work together for his or her good. To remain above your circumstances, you need to maintain lift. To maintain lift you need to keep moving. So, step out in faith today and move forward in God’s perfect plan for you.

“Dear Lord, I’m sorry for slowing down and coming to a standstill in my Christian walk. Forgive me for not running this race with perseverance. I desire to develop lift in my life by moving forward. Thank you for the amazing plans you have stored up for me. Help me not to stop dead but to keep moving forward in your plans, by faith. I commit my future to you; I commit my relationships to you and my work to you. I pray for the stamina and tenacity to keep moving forward. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS FLYING HIGH WITH GOD-CONFIDENCE IN THE FACE OF EVERY STORM OF LIFE

Psalm 31:14-15(a)
But I trust in you, O LORD; I say,
“You are my God.” My times are in your hand

There are storms out there like economic slowdown, job losses, political turbulence, radical terrorism, violent crime and severe natural disasters. And there are storms closer to home like illness, financial need, marital upheaval and bullying. Sometimes I become so disillusioned with the world and my own circumstances that I just want to pack-it-all-in and give up. But then the Lord reminds me to not give but look up. If I’m acknowledging him in all my ways and trusting him to guide my life track, then God will guide me through all the storms of life. And he’s good at it!

In his book, “Before Amen”, Max Lucado tells the story of how he climbed aboard a plane on a business trip. As he entered the craft, he heard his name being called. It was his good friend, Joe. Joe was the pilot. Max says of him, “He’s been flying forever. He’s faced every flight crisis from electric storms to empty fuel tanks. He’s a good pilot. He is good in skill and good in heart.” Lucado went on to say that Joe was experienced and proven. More than that, Joe was Max’s tried-and-true friend.

As it turned out that flight was destined to hit the mother of all storms. The plane was shaken by violent winds. It bounced up and down like a wild rollercoaster ride. As passengers gasped and shrieked, Max Lucado said, “I stayed calm. I knew the pilot. I knew his heart and I trusted his skill. The storm was bad but the pilot was good.”

Jesus is the pilot of your life, dear God-tracker. If you continue to acknowledge him in every aspect of your life – storms or not – then he will see you through. He has the skills and the heart to meet your every need. He has the wisdom and power to guide world affairs. And he has the love and grace to still your beating heart. The Lord your God is a good God, and he’s good at what he does. He is faithful and his love endures your every hardship. Put your faith in his omniscient, omnipotent wisdom and trust that he will land you safe and sound on the other side of your calamity. The storm may be bad but the pilot is good.

God-tracking is flying high with God-confidence in the face of every storm of life.
