“Satan, the enemy of God’s plans, will do all he can to prevent you from following your God-given purpose. Nonetheless, in the end, God will make sure that what needs to happen will happen.”

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NIV)
But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.

I recently endured an attack on my calling and ministry that left me reeling. It had great potential to derail me from the plans of God for my life. This attack affected my marriage, my finances as well as my career. Until that point in my life, I was enjoying a stable occupation and a rewarding ministry. Then, in one foul sweep, all the wheels came off. I was emotionally threadbare and disillusioned with my call to ministry. The enemy had a plot to derail me but God had a plan to keep me on track.

The scripture makes it plain; you and I have all been called according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will. God has a plan for you. His plan is to use you to interact, impact and influence people to find purpose in the plans of God. God has a plan for every person on earth to come to the knowledge of his overflowing grace by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord. Sadly, however, many will reject God’s message of grace. Only he knows who will respond to his call to salvation but we do not know who will respond. Therefore, it is God’s plan for you and me to be willing to give an answer to everyone who asks about the reason for the hope that is in us. However, Satan, the enemy of God’s plans, will do all he can to prevent you from following your God-given purpose. Nonetheless, in the end, God will make sure that what needs to happen will happen. So, be strong and courageous, your work will be rewarded.

By the grace of God, I kept my eyes on Jesus, when things began to unravel in my life and work. Since then, by the grace of God, he has opened the door for me to touch tens, no, hundreds of thousands of more lives through my work in Christian radio. The enemy had a plot to derail me but God had a plan to keep me on track.

God-tracking is being strong and not giving up.

Don’t Give Up, Look Up & Pray

“Dear Lord, I will be strong and not give up, for you will reward the  work of my hands.”

“O Lord, I’m so disillusioned with what has happened recently. It seems the enemy has crept in and pulled the rug from under my feet. And yet, O Lord God, I know that my life is in you. You have a plan and purpose for me to impact many lives for the sake of the gospel. You have a plan and purpose for me to care for the needy and help the destitute. So, I stand strong, not in my own strength, but in the strength of your purposes and plans for my life. Dear Lord, I will be strong and not give up, for you will reward the  work of my hands. Amen.”

“This is where trust comes in. Despite the stress, despite the burnouts, we can be sure that if we continue to acknowledge God in all – yes, all – our ways, then wherever we find ourselves in life will be precisely where God wants us to be.”

Ephesians 1:11In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will

Books by Dudley Anderson
My mind was numb, as I walked home from the business meeting. For the past one and a half hours, I’d sat around a table with three colleagues discussing the future of our work. Through the haze of pressing issues, I vaguely remember us reviewing our vision and projects. However, somehow, it was as if I wasn’t there. I heard a voice discussing our plans. It sounded like my voice, but it seemed I was listening in from the other room. When I opened the front door and entered my home Karen knew instantly that there was something wrong. I was on the verge of burnout.

I always teach that God has a plan for our lives. The scripture makes that plain. In Jeremiah, we read, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord.” And in Ephesians, we read that God’s purpose was for us to know the mystery of his grace, through Christ that we might fulfil our destinies. And in Romans: “All things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose.” I likewise teach that if we acknowledge God in all our ways, he will direct our paths in life. All this amounts to the main concept of what I call, God-tracking.

Yet, God never promised that tracking his plans would always be easy. For as much as God has a plan for your life so does the enemy of God’s plans, Satan. Satan’s plan is always to derail you from the track of God’s plans for your life. Thankfully, Jesus said, “In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” Stress, criticism, loss, illness, anxiety and more are sure to rise up in your life, as you seek to stay on track with the plans and purposes of God.

This is where trust comes in. Despite the stress, despite the burnouts, we can be sure that if we continue to acknowledge God in all – yes, all – our ways, then wherever we find ourselves in life will be precisely where God wants us to be. So, be strong and courageous, he will never leave your side. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, who endured great stress, looking through the cross to see himself victorious on the other side. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding.

Safe to say, though my circumstances have changed since that formidable business meeting a year ago, God’s plans have prevailed in my life. His plans are for our welfare and not evil, to give us a future and a hope.

You are the uplifter of my soul! Today I place my trust squarely in the plans you know you have for me

“Dear Lord, I don’t know if I can face another day. I feel so empty – so burned out. Loss has overcome me; stress is overwhelming me, and the criticisms are overbearing. Forgive me for taking my eyes off Jesus during this trial. Dear Lord, I consciously acknowledge you again in prayer and commit every part of my life to you. I trust you emphatically and believe you are with me in this thicket. Help me through this, O Lord. Be my strength, my hope and my peace. You are the uplifter of my soul! GOD-TRACKING IS ENDURING CONFLICT WITH CONFIDENCE THAT GOD IS WATCHING OVER HIS WORD TO YOU

GodTracker 692The e-devotional helping to keep you on-track with God’s plans for your life
GodTracker is published by Sure Reality Media at surereality.net

Romans 12:2Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

“So, wherever God’s will takes you; whatever happens as you seek to track God’s plans, you will go out in joy and be led forth in peace. And that’s what God-tracking is all about!”

“But Lord, I am only a child,” said Jeremiah, “I don’t even know how to speak.” Young Jeremiah had heard the call of God on his life: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” But Jeremiah was afraid. He was young and inexperienced. So, the Lord proceeded to explain that he would put his words into Jeremiah’s mouth and he would watch over those words to cause them to come to pass. Whatever happened, God would defend Jeremiah’s life and calling.

The prophet Jeremiah is one of my heroes of the faith. He was called of God to speak into the life of his people during a particularly severe time of rebellion. Because of their apostacy, as a nation, the Israelites were divided - Israel to the north and Judah to the south. By the time Jeremiah came on the scene, Israel had collapsed and had been taken captive by the Assyrians. The same fate faced Judah, only by the hands of the mighty Babylonians. Jeremiah brought a warning about the demise of Judah, if they refused to turn from idolatry. As a result, Jeremiah was harshly abused. He was mocked, ridiculed and physically tortured by his neighbours. Yet, it was Jeremiah who prophesied, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Tracking the will of God can be a daunting task. Our God is high and exalted. He is our Sovereign Majesty. His character is supreme, his power unlimited and his will is paramount. Sometimes walking in God’s will, will take you through places of difficulty. However, walking in God’s will, will always bring you hope and a future, because God knows the plans he has for you. As with Jeremiah, God will watch over his word in your life; he will defend your cause and cause you to prosper in your calling. The Lord has promised you, “The word that goes out from my mouth shall not return to me empty but will accomplish that which I purpose.”

Therefore, take every thought captive and renew your mind by God’s word. Stand secure in the knowledge that he is watching over his calling on your life to fulfil it. He who promised, is faithful and he will do it! All the promises in God’s word are yes for you in Christ! So, wherever God’s will takes you; whatever happens as you seek to track God’s plans, you will go out in joy and be led forth in peace. And that’s what God-tracking is all about!

God-tracking is enduring conflict with confidence that God is watching over his word to you.

I commit my life and calling to you. Help me to track your will, every day.

“Heavenly Father, thank you that you are always true to your word. I desire to walk in your will, always. Forgive me for doubting your promises to fulfil your purposes in my life, by your grace. I believe you have a calling on my life. Today, O Lord, I put my trust in your integrity to watch over that calling to bring its purpose to pass. I trust your word will not return to you, empty. Help me to face any resistance and opposition to fulfilling that call. I acknowledge you in all my ways and take every negative thought captive by renewing my mind in your word. I commit my life and calling to you. Help me to track your will, every day. Amen.”

GOD TRACKING IS STAYING SECURE IN GOD’S WILL

GodTracker 691The e-devotional helping to keep you on-track with God’s plans for your life
GodTracker is published by Sure Reality Media at surereality.net

Psalm 16:8I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

“Rest in the knowledge that he is watching over his Word to you. Then, whatever calamity comes your way, you can be sure of peace and security by living in the will of God.”

Jim Elliot was born in Portland, Oregon in 1927. He grew to be a strapping gifted young man. Jim was a talented sports man and actor. While studying architecture at school, his teachers encouraged him to follow a career in acting, as he was a brilliant orator. Jim Elliot was also a Christian. Acknowledging God in all his ways, Elliot sought to track the plans and purposes of God.

At the tender age of 24 Jim Elliot heard the call of God to become a missionary and to help evangelise an unreached tribe in Ecuador. In his journal for 28th October 1949, Elliot wrote that he believed, work dedicated to Jesus was more important than his very life. Quoting the words of Jesus he wrote, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” Then added, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” In February 1952 Jim and 4 friends left the shores of America never to return. On 8th January 1956 Jim Elliot and his 4 companions were martyred by a group of about 10 Huaorani warriors.

Thankfully, I have not (and pray I never will) experienced anything near the plight of these 5 heroes of the faith, in my attempt to seek and track the plans and purposes of God. However, I have experienced emotional hardship and intense resistance to the call of God on my life. But God has always brought me through to a place of peace and security. Author, Elisabeth Elliot said, “The will of God is never exactly what you expect it to be. It may seem to be much worse, but in the end, it's going to be a lot better and a lot bigger.” I have personally discovered that walking in the will of God is always a place of secure peace, but not always a comfortable place to be. Ask Jim Elliot, better yet, ask Jesus.

When God calls you, he’ll watch over his calling in your life to fulfil it. You see, it’s not your ministry, it’s his ministry; it’s not your calling, it’s his calling, and he will watch over his calling to perform it. The Lord your God is faithful, and his love endures forever. He is your source and your resource. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God, whom you can trust. Your heart can be glad, and your whole being can rejoice, because in him you can dwell secure. Indeed, he is at your right hand, you shall not be shaken.

Therefore, dear God Tracker, acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. Rest in the knowledge that he is watching over his Word to perform it in your life. Then, whatever calamity may come your way, when living in the will of God, you can be sure of peace and security.

“Father, thank you for your word to me. Thank you that you have a call on my life and that you watch over that call, according to your purpose. I know I can rest secure in that call, whatever opposition comes my way. So, I consciously choose to acknowledge you in every area of my life, from the physical to the social, to emotional to the spiritual, and trust that you will direct my paths. I trust in you, O Lord, and will not trust in in my own understanding and keep my eyes on Jesus. You are Lord of my life. Help me to always walk squarely in your will. Amen.”

“This calls for walking by faith and not by sight. You see, it’s not a fatalistic view on life, it’s a faith-realistic view on life… And that’s what God-tracking is all about.”

Proverbs 3:6In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

This email devotional is built on the premise that God has a plan and a purpose for every Christian believer. The scriptures are packed with words that confirm this fact. Listen:
  • And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).
  • I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfils his purpose for me (Psalm 57:2).
  • The Lord will fulfil his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures for ever. Do not forsake the work of your hands (Psalm 138:8).
  • In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:4-6).
  • …who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began (2 Timothy 1:9).
The central theme verse on which this devotional is based is taken from Jeremiah, which reads, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” However, I would like to point out that it is indeed, God who knows the plans he has for us, but we don’t; not until he reveals his plans to us, that is. Therefore, we need to faithfully seek and track God’s plans and purposes throughout our lives. Hence the term, God-tracking.

In 1997 I had an experience in which God revealed to me that his purposes will always hold true in my life, provided I continue to remain on track with his plans. His plans may often take me to places I would never have dreamt were meant for me, but God showed me that, provided I acknowledge him in all my ways and keep my eyes fixed on Jesus, he would always direct my life’s track. This calls for walking by faith and not by sight. You see, it’s not a fatalistic view on life, it’s a faith-realistic view on life. It’s not saying, “What will be will be,” but rather, “His will be done!”

If you live this way, you will always find yourself walking squarely in the middle of God’s will for your life, including through the most challenging places. Acknowledging God in every area of life will cause you to always make the right choices. And even if you happen to make a wrong choice, because you’ve acknowledged God, he will nevertheless, direct your path.

And that’s what God-tracking is all about.

God-tracking is knowing you’re in the right place.

Therefore, I step out in faith and declare that, at this moment that I believe I am precisely where you want me to be in life

“Dear Father God, I acknowledge you in every part of my life: in my work, in my play, in my church, in my finances, in my relationships, in my ambitions, in my hopes, in my desires, in my failures, in my successes and in the very place of life I find myself in today. And I choose to fix my eyes on Jesus, my example of a life of faith. I know you have a wonderful plan for me. I know you have a wonderful future for me, filled with hope and success. Therefore, I step out in faith and declare that, at this moment that I believe I am precisely where you want me to be in life, and I will track your plans and purposes every step of the way. Amen.”

Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us

I’m told that the Greeks had a race in the early Olympic games that was unique to all the others. The winner of the race was not the runner who finished first. The winner was the runner who finished his race with his torch still lit. Paul the apostle, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit said, “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we, an imperishable.”

One of my favourite English words is the word tenacity. Tenacity is defined as the quality or fact of being very determined; determination to grip something firmly. I could imagine those runners in the early Greek Olympics running as fast as they could, while gripping their Olympic torches firmly, with determination to win in such a way as to keep their flames burning.

God-tracking implies tracking the plans of God for our lives. This process requires us to remain on track with God’s purposes. If one of these athletes, running a track race, veered off track while he was running, he might stumble and fall in the rough, extinguish his torch. Christian, you and I are called to be the light of the world. Jesus said, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” To keep that torch burning is to stay on track with God’s plans by acknowledge him in all your ways while seeking first his kingdom principles. Then to run the race set out before you with tenacity. Never, never give up and you will receive that imperishable prize!

God-tracking is running tenaciously

“O Lord, forgive me for going off track and stumbling in the dirt of the world. I admit, my light has dimmed. I repent of all sin and grief that I have caused your Holy Spirit. I choose to pick myself up again and get back on the track to run with perseverance and tenacity, this race you have set out for me. GOD-TRACKING IS GETTING ON AND REMAINING ON TRACK WITH GOD’S PLANS

Ephesians 1:17
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him

Subscribe to GodTracker by email
Twenty-years ago I received a revelation on the concept of knowing God’s purposes for my life. In previous GodTrackers I’ve shared how God seemingly had opened an important door for me, only for him to firmly shut it again. When I asked why, he simply said, “You’re on track with my plans.” You see, the Bible says, “’I know the plans I have for you,’ says the LORD.” That day I discovered that it is God who knows the plans he has for me, but I don’t; not until he reveals them to me, that is. He calls me only to daily seek and track his plans. Hence the concept of God-tracking. And his plans are always for a hopeful future. Since that day I have never been abandoned by the Lord I seek, even through the most gruelling of circumstances.

You may read this, wishing that you could discover God’s plans for your life, too. Discovering God’s plans requires two things: 1) Acknowledge the Lord and 2) Acknowledge the Lord.

Firstly, have you acknowledged Christ as Lord of your life? Have you come to a point where you realise that God is good and you’re not? Yes, you are not good enough for God! Neither am I! All mankind has sinned and missed God’s goodness; none of us is good enough for God. Only God can be good enough for God. That’s why God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ into the world. The good God became like one of us, through Jesus. Jesus was born of a virgin; therefore, he is sinless. The result of sin is death and Jesus died. But because he was sinless, he did not remain dead but rose again. While we were yet sinners, God showed his love in that Christ died for us. God made Christ who had no sin, to become sin for us so that by faith in him we could be made good by the grace of God. We all went astray from God’s goodness, but God laid on Jesus the inequity of us all. Through confession and repentance of sin and acknowledging Christ as Lord, you can be saved to discover God’s good plans for your life.

Secondly, don’t leave it there. Continue to seek and acknowledge God in every part of your life, daily. Acknowledge God in your work life, your family life and your private life. Acknowledge God in your finances, your ambitions and your desires. Acknowledge God in your successes and your failures. If you acknowledge in every part of your life, then he will make straight your paths and keep you on track with his plans.

God-tracking is getting on and remaining on track with God’s plans

Help me to daily seek your will and remain on track with your plans and purposes

“Dear God, I deeply desire to know your plans for my life. I admit that I have been far from you. I confess and repent of my sins and shortfalls. I believe that Jesus, the sinless One, died in my place and rose again to save me from the results of sin, which is death. I not only believe this truth but I now confess the reality of is for myself. I give my life to Christ and accept him as my Lord and Saviour. Dear God, I now acknowledge you in every aspect of my life. I acknowledge your presence. I acknowledge your righteousness. I acknowledge your glory. And I acknowledge your hand upon every part of my life. Help me to daily seek your will and remain on track with your plans and purposes. Amen.”

Dear God Tracker

Your Constant In The Heat Of Change

It’s been said that some people will change when they see the light. Others change only when they feel the heat. Sadly life on this planet is thwarted with change. From the moment we’re born until the day we pass on to greener pastures we undergo constant change. Changes can sometimes be planned and desirable but they can also result from the unavoidable consequences of other people’s choices or changes upon our lives. But it’s how we deal with change that truly matters.

I thank God that he never changes. The Bible says that he is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Lord God is the only constant in the universe. When Jesus died to reconcile us to God he opened the way for the God-constant to become part of our lives. The day you saw the light and asked Jesus into your life you were transformed into a new creation. In unchanging Christ then, you are always safe and secure. So even when factors in your life influence your circumstances for change, the One in you remains the same, always. Like the air you breathe, God’s Holy Spirit is alongside you through every change of life you undergo. His love, grace and strength never vary. So today allow him to be your constant in the heat of change.

God tracking is constantly changing for the good, for good.

Ever blessing

Dudley

Verse of the Week

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Quote of the Week

A Sample of Dudley’s Fave Quotes.

“Everything continues in a state of rest unless it is compelled to change by forces impressed upon it.” --- Issac Newton

Don’t Give-up, Look-up!

Look-up and Fix Your Eyes On Jesus!

Author Of My Faith

Hebrews 12:2
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Pray
“Dear Lord, thank you for changing my life for the good, for good when I asked Jesus into my heart. Thank you that the old has gone and the new has come. But I pray that you will help me to face unavoidable circumstantial changes that come my way. Help me to deal with the new and to release the old. Help me to be consistent through things that vary in my days. I choose to fix my eyes on Jesus who was constant throughout the crucifixion, because he saw himself on the other side of his circumstances, seated at God’s right hand. Thank you for being my constant, Lord, and author of my faith.”
