GOD-TRACKING IS LIVING BY GOD’S PERFECT BLUEPRINT

GodTracker 733
The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life.
GodTracker is published at

When you commit yourself to Christ you crumple up the old corrupted copy of the plan of your life and overlay it with God’s perfect, blessed and magnificent blueprint for your future

Galatians 5:16
So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Two weekly devotionals. Only £7.50 each
Jesus is the blueprint of God for your life. Mankind was originally designed according to this plan but, sadly, the Bible says that, when we sinned, we fell short of this plan and corrupted God’s perfect righteous image. Though God sent us the Law of Moses to rectify the discrepancies, it was rendered powerless in that it was weakened by our sinful nature. Therefore, God sent his Son, Jesus – his original blueprint – to reconcile us back to himself. Because Jesus is God in the flesh he wasn’t marred by the fall of man. Jesus was and is sinless. Even so, God’s plan was to allow Jesus to bear the curse of sin when he died in our place, for the wages of sin is death. You see, God imputed Jesus with your sin so that, by repentance and in faith, you could be imputed with God’s righteousness. In Christ, you become the righteousness of God. Jesus in you is God’s original plan for your life.

Many people think that they need to work really hard to earn God’s favour, but this is impossible. God is so holy and righteous that we would need to become as he is in order to earn his favour. But Jesus is already how God is, because Jesus is God in the flesh. Therefore, in order to be holy as he is holy, you and I need to intentionally repent of sin and then live according to his blueprint for our lives, by faith. The moment you truly repent, you admit your failings and die to the old nature of sin. Then the moment you exercise faith in God’s grace you put your confidence in Christ as God’s original plan. And so you live by his righteousness and not yours.

When you commit yourself to Christ God’s righteousness is graciously and supernaturally superimposed into your spirit-man; you become reconciled to God’s perfect blueprint. When you commit yourself to Christ you crumple up the old corrupted copy of the plan of your life and overlay it with God’s perfect, blessed and magnificent blueprint for your future. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope,” says the Lord.

Why not do it now?!

“Dear God, I realise now that, like the rest of mankind, the plan of my life is marred by sin. I admit to my sin – stuff I have done that has displeased you and the sin of mankind that has been copied into my life through the generations. Thank you for sending Jesus – your original blueprint – to be a sin offering for me. I choose to put my faith in Jesus’ replacing sacrifice for my sins. I believe he died and rose again and now confess him to be Lord of my life. From here on, O Lord, I choose to follow your blueprint for my life. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS WISELY FOLLOWING GOD OPPORTUNITIES WITH PEACE OF MIND

“We are called to put on Christ – get dressed in Jesus – so the world no longer sees us as old, derelict creatures but as transformed new creations revealing the beauty of Christ.”

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

godtracker.co.uk
I was attending a pastors’ gathering the other day when an acquaintance came up to me. “I just want to let you know that I have taken up a new position in a church 20 miles away,” he said. I was amazed because I knew Jim to be very settled in his old church and did not expect him to move. As if reading my thoughts, he went on, “It’s not that I was unsettled or anything, I just had a sense God was moving me. I was advised to apply to a different church, but I did not have peace about it. Then this opportunity opened up and everything has just fallen into place.”

I could see the joy and expectation in Jim’s eyes as he explained how the Lord had worked out all the details of his move. God had already prepared the hearts and circumstances of his old church and raised someone up to take his place. His family is young so a move to a new town would be relatively easy. And every detail of his new appointment had been worked out as if he had written the script himself. You see, Jim had acknowledged God, sought his will through Word and Spirit and had kept his heart’s motives pure, as he planned the move. This is God-tracking at its best.

Perhaps you are feeling the pull of God to move on. It could be that he has opened a new opportunity for you, but you are uncertain as to whether it is the right thing to do. Like my friend Jim, be encouraged to pray for God’s hand upon every detail of that move. Seek God’s plans and not your own, with the wisdom that comes from above. This wisdom begins with purity. Check your heart’s motives – your ambitions – for making that move. You may well gain from the changes you face but be sure that it is God’s will you seek and not selfish ambition. Beware of that prowling lion who will attempt to cloud your judgement with seemingly delightful propositions. And remember, the Holy Spirit will always give you a transcending peace when you walk in his will.

I leave you with the words of F. B. Meyer, “Live to please God and he will breathe on thee his peace. Seek his glory, and he will make thy heart his home. Do his will, and thereby good shall come to thee.”

God-tracking is wisely following God-opportunities with peace of mind

Whatever the future holds, I trust you to direct my paths that I may walk in your exclusive purposes for me

“Father God, thank you so much for the wonderful opportunities you have given me in the past. I have been so blessed to be part of your plans. However, I sense you are moving me on. Lord, I don’t know where you are moving me to, but help me to hear your voice and follow your plans for my life as I move forward. I acknowledge you in the prospects on my horizon and seek your perfect will for me and my loved ones. Whatever the future holds, I trust you to direct my paths that I may walk in your exclusive purposes for me. I turn away from selfish ambition and surrender my benefits for the sake of your blessings. Thank you for your peace, which passes understanding and helps me to be content wherever you lead. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS LIVING LIKE A NEW CREATION

GodTracker 733
The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life.
GodTracker is published at

“We are called to put on Christ – get dressed in Jesus – so the world no longer sees us as old, derelict creatures but as transformed new creations revealing the beauty of Christ.”

Romans 13:14
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

godtracker.co.uk
We moved into our current home in 1999. When we took ownership, it was completely dilapidated and unliveable. The house had no central heating. The window frames were rotting, the carpets were sparse and threadbare. The bathroom units were defunct, the kitchen had no units in it at all and the whole house stank. In one of the bedrooms, there was a large oily, smelly patch on the floor as though something had died there. Thankfully, we received the keys to the house one month before we moved in and so were able to get in and transform the place before we moved in. Now it’s a lovely warm and appealing home.

God’s word calls for us to be transformed by renewing ourselves in Christ. It tells us to crucify the old self and be raised to newness through the death and resurrection of Jesus; to live this new life by faith in Jesus, who loved us and gave himself for us. Sadly, I meet many people who verbally assert they are Christians but have never truly been transformed; they still live and behave like the old man. We are called to put on Christ – get dressed in Jesus – so the world no longer sees us as old, derelict creatures but as transformed new creations revealing the beauty of Christ.

God’s plan is for you and me to live in the newness of life that faith in Christ brings. God’s plan is for you and me to flourish in the fulness of his blessings and glory. God’s plan is for you and me to live as transformed people, revived by his grace and mercy. And God’s plan is for you and me to demonstrate his love, strength and splendour to the world around us by the power of the Holy Spirit.

God-tracking is living like a new creation

Come, O Holy Spirit and turn my old derelict house into a new magnificent homestead, for your glory

“Dear Lord, I’m sorry that I keep falling back into the old me. Please forgive me. I make a choice now to leave the old life behind – to crucify the old me – and be transformed by the renewing of my mind. I take off my old nature as, though I was getting undressed, put on Christ. May the world see you in me. May I live and behave according to the principles of your word and not the ways of man. Thank you for the newness of life I find in Christ. Thank you that I am a new creation, in Christ. Come, O Holy Spirit and turn my old derelict house into a new magnificent homestead, for your glory. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS STANDING ON HIS PROMISE TO GIVE YOU A HOPE & A FUTURE

GodTracker 732
The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life.
GodTracker is published at
godtracker.co.uk

“I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord! God-tracking is remaining on track with those plans in the 21st century, as we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways.”

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Based on the scripture, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope,” this email/blog devotional is designed to help you and me seek and track these plans of God. Sadly, however, much criticism has been levelled at the use of that verse in Jeremiah, stating that it was only intended for the Jews at one time in history and that we cannot personalise it today in the 21st century. Let’s examine that thought in context.

There were 3 exiles to Babylon. In 605 B.C. the Babylonians invade Judah and first wave of exiles was taken (Daniel and his friends were taken among these). In 597 B.C. Jehoachin becomes king of Judah and the Babylonians capture Jerusalem. A second wave of exiles takes place. Almost 10 years later the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. A third wave of Jews was deported to Babylon. It was at the third wave that Jeremiah wrote these words: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfil to you my promise and bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Though God’s people were being judged for their sin, he promised he would restore their fortunes.

Five hundred and eighty-six years later Jesus the Messiah was born. God loved the world so much that he sent his son to redeem the world from sin. Whoever believes in him will know the promise of eternal life by being restored to God out of the exile of sin. Just as the Jews were taken into slavery because of their sin, all mankind is in slavery today, because of sin. This is why Jesus came. He is God’s Way for our spiritual return from exile. Through Christ God restored those who believe, to his righteousness, just as the Jews were restored to Jerusalem. God knew the plans he had for his people almost 2,600 years ago – plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope. And, through Christ, God knows the plans he has for you today in the 21st century.

God’s word stands forever. Once a prophetic word is spoken it can never be revoked. Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” Again, in Jeremiah we read: “I am watching over my word to perform it.” That word was for Judah at that time but, by our personal relationship with an omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient and eternal God, it is also for us, today!

I know the plans I have for you, today, declares the Lord!

By faith, I stand on the promise of that word and believe my future will be blessed, just as the Jews were blessed when they were restored to Jerusalem.

“O God my Lord, thank you for your enduring word. What you said to your chosen ones thousands of years ago still stands today for those who are chosen, through Christ. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I repent of sin and seek your righteousness in all I do. I acknowledge you, O Lord, in all my ways and trust you to direct my paths. Therefore, I know you have plans for my life – plans for welfare and not for evil, to give me a future and a hope. By faith, I stand on the promise of that word and believe my future will be blessed, just as the Jews were blessed when they were restored to Jerusalem. Amen!”

GOD-TRACKING IS NEVER GIVING UP

GodTracker 731

“You may feel like a lump of mud on a potter’s wheel, but the Master Potter has not abandoned his work; he is reshaping you to be his jar of clay, filled with his Spirit for his good purposes.”

Ephesians 2:19
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

I recently attended a conference where the theme was, It Ain’t Over till God Says It’s Over. As someone who has experienced a hiatus in his work and calling, I know what it’s like to reach a point where you question what you’re supposed to be doing in life. Past successes have come and gone, leaving you feeling satisfied, yet spent and past failures have reaped their grim reward leaving you feeling disappointed and forlorn. Ever been there?

Norwegian preacher, Mats Ola shares the story of his father who was a successful church pastor. By the time he reached his early 50s, he’d developed a thriving ministry. Then out of the blue, came unvalidated severe criticism. Eventually, broken-hearted, his father was forced to resign and leave the ministry. Mats’ dad turned to business and was soon making a great deal of money. Ten years later, at a church conference, Mats Ola’s father had an encounter with God and was challenged to return to the ministry. At age 64, after attending Bible College with his wife, Mats’ father was called to pastor a church in the far north of Norway, where the sun never rises in winter. Here he ministered God’s word until he died at age 94.

In Jeremiah 18 we read of how God called the prophet down to the potter’s house where he watched as the potter fashion a fine vessel out of a lump of clay. However, there was a flaw in the vessel and the potter was dissatisfied with his work. So, he crumpled it up and began refashioning it again until it was perfect in his eyes. Perhaps the Lord is refashioning you today. You may feel like a lump of mud on a potter’s wheel, but the Master Potter has not abandoned his masterpiece; he is reshaping you to be his prize jar of clay, filled with his Spirit for his good purposes.

It ain’t over till God says it’s over! God knows the plans he has for you.

“Dear Lord I feel so abandoned today. I feel as though I failed at what you called me to do. Please forgive me for any faults I have and, I pray, revision me into your masterpiece. I know I am no more than a jar of clay but I desire to be the grandest vessel I could ever be to fulfil the plans you know you have for me. I’m yours, Lord. I know you’re not finished with me yet. I give myself wholly to the work you have called me to do. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS CASTING YOUR CARES ON JESUS, ALWAYS

GodTracker 730
The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life.
GodTracker is published at godtracker.co.uk

“So, if you carry the cares of the world on your shoulders then stop doing what you’re doing right now and do some care-casting.”

Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

I went for a walk the other day with the cares of the world on my shoulders. I was anxious about many things that day: an ache in my knee, cares about other people’s cares, worry about financial issues. As I walked, I prayed out loud for these needs (thankfully I was alone on a country path). I found myself complaining to God about mistakes I’d made in the past and disappointments clouding my vision. The more I grumbled and worried the tighter the knot became in my belly until I almost audibly heard the voice of the Holy Spirit say, “Cast your cares upon me!” Immediately I stopped, took out my mobile phone (it has a notepad app on it) and made a list of all that I was anxious about. Under a tree on the side of a hill in the Worcestershire countryside that day, I did some care-casting!

Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow. He told us to look at nature and see how God, in his creative love and wisdom, takes care of the needs of the birds or the air and the flowers of the field. “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” he said. “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Jesus then called us to firstly focus on God’s kingdom and his righteousness. He promised that if we do this then all that we are worried about would simply fall into place. In other words, if you and I become concerned about the cares of this world then they will consume us! However, if we seek God’s stuff first then we will enjoy rest and reward.

So, if you carry the cares of the world on your shoulders then stop doing what you’re doing right now and do some care-casting. Pray your needs through and believe that the Lord is your strength and your shield. Then fix your eyes on the kingdom and goodness of God. If you trust in him then he will help and provide for you every step of the way.

God-tracking is casting your cares on Jesus, always.

Dear Lord and God, today I do some care-casting in Jesus’ name!

“Dear Lord and God, I’m sorry for worrying so much. I realise that I have been consumed by the cares of this world instead of seeking first the things of your kingdom. Today, I lay down all my worries, cares and concerns at your feet. Dear Lord and God, today I do some care-casting in Jesus’ name! I cast my cares on you: every financial need, every health concern, every worry about a loved one, every disappointment, every fear of what the future may hold and every offence that I have suffered at the criticisms of others. I do not give up, but I rather look up into your eyes for help and my purpose. Thank you that you know my tomorrow and have a plan for my good future. Tonight, I will sleep in peace because you are my hope. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS EVERY NEW BATTLE AS MORE THAN A CONQUEROR

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

Jesus made a public spectacle of all the forces of darkness when he triumphed over them at the cross. Then he handed that victory to anyone who would call on his name.”

Romans 8:37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us

When Joshua crossed over the Jordan River to conquer Canaan under command to possess God’s promises he was confronted by a formidable opponent. Jericho was a solidly fortified city and was shut up so securely that none could enter or leave the city. Joshua had been encouraged by the Lord to be strong and courageous for he would lead God’s people to inherit the Promised Land. With these words still ringing in his ears, he faced fortified Jericho.

God gave Joshua a very strange battle plan. God’s plan involved conquering Jericho by simply marching around its walls while praising his name. If Joshua did this then the city would be delivered into his hands. He obeyed God’s command and miraculously those hugely fortified walls simply collapsed in a heap at the sound of the praises of the God of Israel. Joshua was triumphant! He was more than a conqueror, because the Lord had fought the battle of Jericho for him.

Another great battle occurred more than a thousand years later. One lone man faced the impenetrable city of God’s righteousness. Because of the fall of mankind, the Promised Land of God’s riches were shut up securely. But God had a plan to fight the fight on our behalf. Through the humble death of Jesus Christ on the cross the walls separating us from the promises of God collapsed in a heap!

Because of God’s grace through the victory of Jesus, you and I have attained free access to the wonderful riches of the eternal Promised Land. Because of what Jesus did at Calvary we have gained victory over sin, Satan and death itself! Jesus made a public spectacle of all the forces of darkness when he triumphed over them at the cross. Then he handed that victory to anyone who would call on his name. Through Christ’s victory, we have been made more than conquerors!

So, the next time you face life’s battlefield remember to be strong and courageous. Possess God’s promises to you today with his praises on your lips.

God-tracking is facing every new battle as more than a conqueror.

It’s all in the Book…

I declare that, in Christ, I am more than a conqueror and will march right in to take the promises of God

“Dear God, I’m facing problems again in my life. Thank you for the many times you have delivered me in the past. Today I choose to remember those times and put my faith in you to do it again. Like Joshua facing Jericho, I want to march right up to my opponent and declare the praises of God. Praise God! I will stand strong in the victory of Jesus at Calvary with, my face towards the Light. Satan was defeated at the cross. I declare that, in Christ, I am more than a conqueror and will march right in to take the promises of God. Amen.”
