A SPECIAL GODTRACKER APPEAL

“This eDevotional, GodTracker, has been in publication since June 2003. It has been my sincere privilege to share some thoughts with you about seeking and tracking the plans and purposes of God. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.”

Ephesians 5:15,16
Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.

Nepal Opportunity
This eDevotional, GodTracker, has been in publication since June 2003. It has been my sincere privilege to share some thoughts with you about seeking and tracking the plans and purposes of God. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

GodTracker has as its central thesis the thought that God knows the plans he has for you; for your welfare and not evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). In order to walk in God’s perfect will, we need to seek and track God’s plans. Hence, God-tracking. We do this by acknowledging God in all our ways and keeping our eyes on Jesus.

GodTracker is part of a larger Christian media ministry called, Sure Reality Media (or SRM). SRM covers the publication of GodTracker as well as the production of three Christian radio segments, two of which are adapted from GodTracker. These include: Sixty-Second GodTracker, God-Tracking with Dudley and The Reality. The Reality is a half-hour talk show where we meet people from all walks of life who have been impacted by the sure reality of knowing Christ. Find out more and listen to our podcasts at surereality.net.

These radio segments are broadcast on-air and online by many radio stations, worldwide. Some of these stations require payment for airtime. With your help – and by God’s grace – we have been able to meet some of these costs. We have been approached by a station in Kathmandu, Nepal called Good News FM who is very keen to air The Reality.

Good News FM runs a powerful 500-Watt FM transmitter that covers 20 districts around the Kathmandu valley and has a potential listenership of more than 2 million people. SRM is very eager to bring The Reality to the people of Kathmandu. However, Good News FM is compelled by their government to charge for airtime on their station. They are asking £200 per month to air The Reality. To this end, we have launched our 20:10 campaign: looking for only 20 people to commit to the equivalent of £10 per month toward the cost of reaching millions of people in a needy community with the good news of the reality of God’s love through Jesus. In a media world thwart with fake news it’s good to know there is still a place to hear the real good news!

Dear GodTracker, please prayerfully consider becoming a member of our 20:10 Team by contributing towards this great opportunity. You can do so at https://www.surereality.net/nepalopportunity/

Thank you so much.

God-tracking is making the most of every opportunity

ANNOUNCING SURE REALITY MEDIA

GodTracker 646
The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
GodTracker is published by Sure Reality Media

22 September 2017

ANNOUNCING SURE REALITY MEDIA
These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
Colossians 2:17
I would like to begin by thanking you for your faithful support of GodTracker. This e-mail devotional has been running for 14 years. It began as a result of an e-mail received from a listener of a radio show produced by me, Dudley Anderson called, On Track asking for an e-mail version of the content of the show. Thus, began the weekly e-mail we then called, trACker. It was at this time that the Lord gave me the concept of God-tracking. A God tracker is a person intent on seeking and tracking the plans and purposes of God; for the Bible tells us that God knows the plans he has for us. So began the ministry of the weekly e-devotional, GodTracker hosted at godtracker.co.uk

Some years back we began producing a 1-minute radio spot based on GodTracker called, the Sixty-Second GodTracker. This spot has enjoyed air-time on many radio stations around the world. Last year we added the half-hour talk show, The Reality to the programmes of this ministry. The Reality features people from all walks of life who have been impacted by the reality of Christ. The most recent addition to these programmes is a radio segment featuring a full read of the e-devotional GodTracker. (You can listen to the radio programmes of SRM at, surereality.net/listen)

As a cover for this work we are launching Sure Reality Media or SRM. As a non-profit ministry, SRM will oversee the writing and distribution of GodTracker and the production of Christian radio programmes. In addition to radio and print programmes, SRM will also host an annual conference called, The Reality Conference. SRM will be tithing into the work of Boithuto Community Project in Johannesburg, South Africa. We value your support greatly!

We have the potential of broadcasting our radio shows on shortwave radio across central-southern Africa and across Europe and North Africa. There is also the possibility of being listed on a Christian radio ministry that provides programming for hundreds of stations in the US and around the world. These sources will provide a reach to more 600 million people! But we can’t do it alone.
Please pray for this new media ministry. In a media world consumed by so-called, fake news it’s great to know we can offer good news. So please consider becoming an SRM Ministry Partner. It will require about £20,000 to comfortably establish SRM. We value your support greatly!

GOD-TRACKING IS SEEING YOUR LIFE THROUGH HIS EYES

Psalm 139:1
O LORD, you have searched me and known me!

My children and I were lying on our backs on the grass gazing up at the Milky Way on a night black canvas of clear sky. Myriad stars blinked and glistened, light years above us. “Spectacular, isn’t it?” I said. The mesmerised star gazers made no comment. “Do you know that we are on the edge of our galaxy looking back into it at about 200 billion stars spanning a distance of about 100,000 light years? This means the twinkle of that little star over there,” I said pointing to a speck of cosmic glitter far away, “is coming to us from tens of thousands of years in the past.”. “You’re gazing across space and time, beyond your wildest imagination.”

God views our lives like that. He can see our beginning and our end in one picture. The Lord sees you for who you are and where you are in all of space and time. God said to John in his vison of the end times, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Notice the word “and”. God is and was and is to come, all at the same time. In other words, he is outside the bounds of space and time.

Whatever you’re facing today know that God knows all about it. He knows how you got into that mess and he knows how you will get out of it, with his help. In fact, he’s there already on the other side of that wall meeting your every need. God saw you in the womb and he can see you in the tomb. As you acknowledge the Lord in all your ways, he will hem you in, behind and before, and lay his hand upon you.

So, fix your eyes on Jesus, the founder of your faith. Allow him guide you by his Word and his Spirit, moment by moment. Though the Lord can see the whole picture of your life, he is as close to you as your own breath. Trust in God for his help and guidance; trust in him for his deliverance and provision and trust in him for his strength and healing, without leaning on your own understanding. Your God can see the whole picture if you.

God-tracking is seeing your life through his eyes.

Dear God, help me to see my life as you see it

“O Lord, forgive me for taking my life into my own hands. I often forget that you are eternal and immortal. You are the holy God who loves me and has saved me from eternal ruin, through Jesus Christ. I confess now that you have my life in your hands. I admit and confess that you know my beginning from my end and I acknowledge you in ALL my ways, trusting that you will heal me, guide me, provide for me and help me to serve you in every way. I commit to being a God-tracker, tracking your everlasting plans and purposes for my life. Dear God, help me to see my life as you see it. Amen.”

Dear God-tracker
GOD-TRACKING IS WADING IN THE RIVER OF GOD

Revelation 7:17
For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
Karen and I had the pleasure of visiting Israel not too long ago. We had an amazing time, viewing all the famous biblical sites. However, I was also impacted by the sheer natural beauty of the region. On one occasion, we were near the source of the Jordan River in the north of the country. In the hot arid climate of the Middle East, this river is the very lifeline for two countries. We stood near an opening in the ground where beautiful clear cool water gushed out to start its 251km journey to the Dead Sea.
Standing there reminded me of another biblical river, one without a name. God had just given the prophet Ezekiel a very detailed vision of his temple. Then, in his vision, God brought Ezekiel around to the front entrance of the temple where he saw water issuing out from below the threshold. It began shallow and flowed eastward. The angel of the Lord led Ezekiel into the river. As he stepped into the water, it took him to his ankle. The angle took him further in until the water was knee deep, waist deep and on until Ezekiel could no longer touch the bottom. He says, “It was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be passed through.” The river continued to flow eastward until it reached the Dead Sea. But, unlike the Jordan River, where the River of God entered the sterile waters of the sea of salt, it transformed the dead waters into living waters. The Dead Sea came to life. The prophet then noticed that along the banks of the river grew fruit bearing trees: “Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”
Ezekiel’s river had its source in the sanctuary of the temple; it began its journey from the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies contained symbols of God’s Word and Spirit and represented the merciful presence of God, that is, the atoning work of Christ. Wherever the river flowed it gave life. Jesus said, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” He was talking about the coming of the Holy Spirit. Ezekiel’s river represents the life-giving flow of God’s Holy Spirit.
Holy Spirit flows from the foot of the cross, bringing life wherever he goes. The source of the River of the Spirit is the cross of Jesus. Notice that Ezekiel did not remain at the source of his river but waded out into the glory of God, until he could no longer stand on his own two feet. God wants you to go-with-the-flow of his Spirit; he wants you to be filled with and overwhelmed – baptised – in the Holy Spirit. He is your source and your resource. He is your energy, your strength and your life. The word for you today is, step out into the River of God and allow it to knock you off your feet! God wants you to drink deeply of his presence so that out of your heart will flow rivers of living water.

“Dear Father, thank you that Jesus died to redeem me from my sin. I acknowledge that he is Lord of my life. Thank you that you have poured out your Holy Spirit on all flesh. Today I want to wade out in the flow of the River of God; I want to lose my balance so that I no longer stand on my own two feet but am taken along by the mighty flow of your Holy Spirit in every area of my life. I open my heart to you and I open my mouth to you. Baptise me in the Holy Spirit. Fill me up, O Lord, may your living water flow into every nook of my being. May your living water flow from out of my heart, bringing food for the hungry and healing for the sick. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.”

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS EXPECTING GOD TO ALWAYS CONFIRM HIS GUIDANCE IN YOUR LIFE

Isaiah 55:9
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Some say that God never uses physical dimensions when guiding us and that he only guides us through spiritual means. Indeed, God does guide us in spiritual ways: the still small voice of his Spirit in our hearts, an anointed word from Scripture or even through dreams and visions. However, God also uses literal physical incidents to guide us in our choices for living.

In the early 1990s, my wife and I had sensed the Lord’s guidance calling us to leave family and friends in South Africa and move to a new country. We’d had a notion that God was going to move us for some time and were knocking on doors around the world. Eventually a potential opportunity opened for us in the Midlands of England. After much prayer and God seeking, in faith, we felt it was time to sell our house and make plans to move. However, Karen loved our home and still had some reservations about moving.

One afternoon Karen was walking down the long gated driveway of our home in Pretoria praying, “Dear Lord, I’m still not certain about selling up to move to the UK. Do you really want us to sell this house and move?” Just then there was a gust of wind. The weather was good that day; the wind came from nowhere. As small white A5 handbill blew over the gate and landed at her feet. “Oh, this junk-mail gets in everywhere,” Karen thought as she picked up the leaflet to discard it. Her eyes caught the bold print at the top of the page: It’s Time to Sell You House. Karen was mesmerised. How could this ever be a coincidence? She had just spoken these words to God in prayer and now she read them in black and white on the piece of paper in her hand.

Gideon in the Bible asked God for a literal confirmation of his calling on his life. He put out a sheep’s fleece one night and asked God to wet it with dew and prevent the ground around it from being wet. He did this to test that what he sensed God was saying was correct. The next morning all the ground around the fleece was dry but the fleece was very wet. Gideon might have thought this result was a coincidence so he asked God to reverse the process the next night. Sure enough, the next morning the fleece was dry and the ground was wet. God made his point and Gideon obeyed God’s call with great effect.

Coincidence never occurs in prayer. God is sovereign and omniscient. If he can use the sun and the moon to confirm his Word, then he can use even tiny literal incidents in your life to communicate his plans to you. Don’t underestimate God’s ability to use the obvious or mundane to guide you. Try not to confine your opinion of how God speaks to only one format. God is sovereign and omniscient and he will do whatever he chooses to do to get his message through to you. His ways are not like our ways; they are often contrary to our human reason. So, in seeking the plans that God has for you, open your heart to his higher ways and simply expect him to speak.

God-tracking is expecting God to always confirm his guidance in your life

Fix your eyes on Jesus

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS FACING EVERY WEARY DAY WITH THE ZEAL OF GOD

Isaiah 9:7
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

My favourite spot in my home is where I have my time with the Lord. This spot happens to be the floor next to my bed in my bedroom. I love to sit with my back against the bed facing the window and read the Bible. That morning I sat down a little disgruntled. “Lord I feel so unmotivated at the moment,” I grumbled. “So much going on. I feel like I’ve run out of steam.” I opened my Bible randomly. It fell to Isaiah chapter 9 and I began to read: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…” In my heart I was saying, I’ve read this portion so many times. How does it apply to what I’m feeling today? Then my eyes fell on the last line of Isaiah’s prophecy, “The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.” These words leapt out of the page at me.

Another word for zeal is the word, enthusiasm. That day I was feeling less than enthusiastic to say the least. I had several projects on the go and was waiting on the Lord for a word for my Sunday sermon. It’s not easy to find inspiration when one is feeling low. As I read those words God’s zeal consumed me. I literally felt strength return to my weary arms.

Are you feeling overloaded, underpaid and taken for granted today? Perhaps you’re not well and feel your energy fading away. Our God is sovereign and omnipotent. His strength is endless and only his zeal can strengthen our weary bones. Christ knows exactly what you face today and how you are feeling, so come to Jesus when you’re weary and overloaded; he will give you rest. Cast all your cares on him, because he cares for how you feel. Allow his enthusiasm to consume you. Remember, the zeal the zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.

God-tracking is facing every weary day with the zeal of God

Blessings

Dudley

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS NEVER QUITTING TO PRAY FOR THAT LOST SOUL YOU LOVE

Luke 10:2
And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.

Pastor Rod was sipping a cup of coffee at the tea table after church one morning, talking to a lady from the congregation. “You seem down today, Sharon,” he said, noticing that she wasn’t making eye contact with him. “Well, yes,” she answered, “I am feeling a little low. You remember my son, Paul?”

“Yes. Wasn’t he the lad who used to always come with you to church?”

“Yes. Well he’s 17-years old now and has dropped out of school. He went abroad with some friends. I don’t know where he is. Could you please pray for him?” she asked with desperation etched in her voice. “Of course I will,” replied her pastor. Rod faithfully put Paul’s name on his prayer list and prayed regularly for him, that he’d be kept safe and come to find Christ as his Lord and God.

Thirty years later Rod was once again sipping a cuppa at the church tea table after the service. Much had changed. He was now pastoring a new church in a new town and had lost contact with Sharon. A well-dressed middle aged man approached him, whom he’d never seen at church before. “Pastor Rod, we’ve not met. My name is Paul.”

Paul explained how he’d wondered far from the life he once knew growing up in a Christian home. He’d moved from town to town, country to country, living a life of sex, drugs, and decadence. Late one night, destitute and alone on the streets of Ankara a stranger walked up to him and said, “Your life is a mess but you already know the way to get back on your feet. Pray and surrender your life to Jesus. He will rescue you from the chaos you’re in.” Paul dropped his head into his hands and broke down. When he looked up again, the man was gone. “I don’t know if he was an angel or not, Pastor Rod, but one thing I do know, my mother told me you’ve been praying for me all these years. Thank you so much.”

Dear God-tracker, our God is a faithful God whose love endures forever. Scripture tells us that he never abandons us, even when we abandon him. When we pass through fire or the flood he is with us. Jesus taught a parable wherein a young man deserted his father and ran off in seek of fame and fortune only to find himself penniless, impoverished and eating husks fed to pigs just to survive. Coming to his senses and returns home to his father who welcomes him with open arms.

Never, never give up praying for that friend or loved one to come to salvation. God is watching over that dear one and will cause them to hear the message of his love at just the right time. You never know, he may even send his angels to rescue them. Just keep praying!

God-tracking is never quitting to pray for that lost soul you love.

Blessings

Dudley

Send workers into the harvest field of his life to reap that crop. Send angels, if need be, to protect him and guide him to a place where he will respond to the Gospel. I pray that he will respond to the message of your grace and give his life to you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.”

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS ACKNOWLEDGING THAT HE IS YOUR SUCCESS

Proverbs 16:3
Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

I was sitting quietly in the prayer meeting pondering the words of Psalm 87 in my Bible, open on my lap. Someone had just prayed about his workload and duties at work, which caused me to think about my own responsibilities – work, family, church, home. As I did so, I became a little overcome by the diversity of my commitments and began to feel my enthusiasm begin to drain from me. Psalm 87 speaks about how God loves Zion (Jerusalem). He founded it and populated it. Then my eye caught verse 5, “…the Most High himself will establish her.”

God’s Word dropped into my heart and quelled my anxieties. If he’s called me to be a father, grandfather, husband and pastor then he will watch over his calling to perform it in my life. I have nothing to defend when it comes to God’s plans for me; he alone is able to fulfil his purposes in my life according to his designs, not mine. Indeed, it was he who gave me those responsibilities and duties in the first place. Therefore, if I continue to acknowledge him in all I do, he will see to it that my work will achieve his goals for my life. All that remains is for me to do is to commit my work to him – to cast my responsibilities upon him.

Are you feeling a little overwhelmed by your responsibilities today? It could be you’ve given your all to your job but, as you stand back to view the results, you’re disappointed by other people’s lack of enthusiasm or commitment. Perhaps you feel you’re undervalued or not appreciated by others and this has left you feeling demotivated and despondent. If that’s you, then my humble advice is to do some care-casting today. That is, cast your cares on him, because he loves you. Commit your workload and all your duties to the Lord and he will see to it that your plans will succeed. Do this and the Most High himself will establish you.

God-tracking is acknowledging that he is your success.

Blessings

Dudley

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS LETTING GO OF OFFENCE BEFORE COMING TO WORSHIP GOD

Matthew 6:14
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you

Jesus said, “If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Naturally, in Bible times, people would bring a literal offering to the temple as a burnt offering before God on the altar. It’s in this context that Jesus said these words. This type of offering was an act of worship. Often, offerings were made as sin offerings. In other words, the person bringing the offering was seeking God’s forgiveness for sins committed. It’s clear that Jesus was implying that before we can expect to receive forgiveness from God we need to be prepared to offer forgiveness to those who have offended us. This thought is reflected in the prayer Jesus taught is to pray: “Forgive us our trespassers as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.”

Unforgiveness results from hurts or offences other people cause in our lives, knowingly or otherwise. Unforgiveness is the greatest inhibitor in any person’s life. Unforgiveness will cause a someone to stagnate in their walk with God and their growth in character. Unforgiveness will drag a person out of God’s blessing and into despair, depression and desolation. The one thing that hinders God’s forgiveness of us is our unforgiveness of others. For a Christian, forgiveness is not optional, it is mandatory.

We no longer offer animal sacrifices on an altar before God. Jesus was the great final sin offering, whose holy blood spilled on the altar of the cross brought forgives of sin, once and for all. However, when I accepted this sacrifice of Christ as atonement for my sin, I laid my own life down; I have been crucified with Christ and now live by faith in his sacrifice for my sins. My whole life is laid bare on the altar of God, as it were. Therefore, every time I come to worship God or come to the communion table, I need to be sure I come in forgiveness and grace.

Today, if you hold a grievance against someone or if you’re harbouring unforgiveness, first go to that person and make right with them before bringing your sacrifice of praise before God. And if you have offended someone else, knowingly or otherwise, then be sure to ask their forgiveness before coming to the Lord’s table or offering him your worship. Remember too, forgiveness and apology need to be unqualified. So it’s simply, “I forgive you.” Or, “I’m sorry.” Add no buts or ands to it. I have found forgiveness is the most liberating and empowering act in life; an act of worship in response of the grace of God.

God-tracking is letting go of offence before coming to worship God.

Blessings

Dudley

GOD-TRACKING RESULTS IN GOOD PRODUCE FROM PRUNED BRANCHES

The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

15 April 2016

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING RESULTS IN GOOD PRODUCE FROM PRUNED BRANCHES

John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name

On more than one occasion Jesus used a vineyard or workers of a vineyard as the subjects of his parables. Growing up in Israel, he would have understood well the finer principles associated with nurturing the vine to produce the best and most succulent grapes. Jesus knew how important it was to annually cut back a vine so that it will both grow well and produce better fruit.

Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” Then later he said, “I am the vine; you are the branches.” By this analogy Jesus is referring to vineyard husbandry, which includes pruning back the plants each year so that their growing energies will go into producing better fruit. Just as a vineyard keeper would prune the vines in this way, so the Father cuts away the dead wood or malformed branches from the true Vine so it will produce a better crop.

You may feel as though you’re being pruned right now. There may be circumstances or situations in your life that have died off or become malformed through the course of time. These could include a bad habit, a wrong relationship or a wrong involvement. God could be pruning your vine today, removing apathy, indifference or pessimism. Whatever it is that you feel is being cut off, you can be sure that you will not be left naked or abandoned in any way. Jesus said that God cuts off the branches that bear no fruit so those that do, will produce even more fruit. Be encouraged, dear God-tracker, God is removing from you those things that are time-wasters or soul-destroyers. The Lord will never cut back anything that is to your benefit. And believe me when I tell you, unless God cuts out the dead wood from your life, you will never be fully productive. God desires for you to produce good results in your studies, your career, your home life and your church life. Your Father is pruning you so that you will produce good fruit in your relationships, your work and your commitments. So, embrace the pruning of the vineyard Keeper so that your harvest may be plentiful!

God-tracking results in good produce from pruned branches

I repent of those things that are grievous to your Spirit and seek to live a productive life according to your purposes for me. Lord, I open myself to your pruning. I ask that as you cut away the dead and malformed branches so that I will produce better product in my life. Bless my output. Bless all my efforts to serve you and cause me to produce good fruit for your kingdom; fruit that will be a blessing to those around me and, ultimately, a blessing to me, too. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS FOLLOWING JESUS’ EXAMPLE

trACker 570
The e-Devotional helping to keep you on-track
Published through www.godtracker.co.uk

05 February 2016

Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS FOLLOWING JESUS’ EXAMPLE

Hebrews 12:2
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame,
and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

I was thinking about this whole concept of tracking God’s will, the other day, and found myself wondering if Jesus was a God-tracker. The Bible makes it clear that God has good works for us to do that he has prepared in advance. It’s true, Jesus is the Son of God, but Jesus is also the Son of Man. God is spiritual, invisible, eternal and can never die. However, you and I are physical and not eternal and, because of sin, we will all die an everlasting death. This is why God sent Jesus as a man. But Jesus was no ordinary man – he is God/Man. That is, Jesus is the physical representation of the spiritual, invisible and eternal God. But he had to also be man so that he could take the consequence of our sin and die. Jesus died for all sin but, because he is sinless, he physically rose from the dead. And this was God’s good work he prepared in advance for the man, Jesus. Yes, Jesus was indeed, a God-tracker and his track led to Calvary!

I think we often forget, while Jesus walked on the earth as Emmanuel, he was fully human!  He had a normal human body, he had normal human emotions and a normal human will, just like you and me. We also read that Jesus grew in wisdom and stature. This implies that, apart from his perfect, sinless supernatural character and Spirit (which is God the Son), Jesus the Son of Man still needed to study the scriptures, pray to the Father and discover God’s purposes for his natural life. This is why we read that he had the choice to follow or to reject God’s will in the Garden of Gethsemane. However, I praise God that Jesus did not reject the Father’s plan for him to go to the cross. Christ went through with the good work God had prepared in advance for him, and he died for our sins.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith and that we are to set our eyes on him. In other words, Jesus Christ is our example – our role model – in our effort to be obedient to God’s will in tracking his plan for our lives.

God-tracking is following Jesus’ example

However, I realise now that Jesus had every natural opportunity to reject your will for his life but he did not. In the natural, Jesus continued to acknowledge you and track your eternal plans for his physical life. Help me to keep my eyes on his example and to walk by faith in the good works that you have prepared in advance for me to do, just as he did. GOD-TRACKING IS MAKING A HABIT OF CHATTING WITH JESUS

Dear God-tracker

God-tracking is making a habit of chatting with Jesus

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the
fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

“Got to get dressed warm today, Lord.” Allen chatted with Jesus as he pulled on an overcoat. “It’s blowing crazy out there. But thank you for today, anyway. It’s always good to know you’re with me every day.” Allen had lost his wife about 25 years back and lived alone in his small home. One thing he’d come to realise, in his latter days, was the fact that, even though he lived on his own he was never alone. His Lord and God – his Friend – was with him, always. Making his way to the door Allen said, “You know Lord, it seems like I’m the one doing all the talking here, but that’s only because I use words. I know you answer me all the time. You chat with me through your comfort, peace and answered prayers… and the Bible, of course! Thank you for always being there for me.”

Prayer is a very awesome privilege – a mystery, even. How my little words may move the hand of Creator is still beyond me. Perhaps it’s because this God we worship is a God of grace and love. In fact, the Bible tells us that God is love. As the personification of love, Jesus died for us on the cross and rose again that we could be reconciled to God. I think it’s this characteristic of God we notice in the beginning when God walked with Adam in the cool of the day. Creator loved his creation and desired to fellowship with him. Perhaps this is what is meant by the words we read in the Bible, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

Father God loves you so much, dear God-tracker. He desires your company every second of every day. He is your Friend and Confidant; Holy Spirit is your Counsellor and Helper. Allen may have lost his wife but he would never lose his Companion. He discovered that, just as he could chat with his wife about everything from normal daily routine to the great needs of men, so he could chat with Jesus. And Jesus chatted back with Allen through the Holy Spirit in his thoughts, through a sense of his presence and through answered prayer; and not forgetting through the Bible. So too, you and I can develop a close intimacy with the Almighty God if we are willing to simply make a habit of chatting with Jesus!
