GOD-TRACKING IS BEING SURE THAT GOD’S PLANS WILL PREVAIL

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“God’s plan will succeed; his purposes will prevail. No weapon fashioned against you shall triumph, and you shall refute every argument that comes against you.”

Psalm 44:3
for not by their own sword did they win the land, nor did their own arm save them, but your right hand and your arm, and the light of your face, for you delighted in them.

God-tracking is based on the premise that God knows the plans he has for us. If this is true then, for you and me to follow God’s plans, we need to follow his instruction to acknowledge him in all our ways and trust that he will direct our footsteps according to his plans. And we read in his word that no wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the plans God has for us.

Are you facing obstacles to the plans you believe God has for your life? Indeed, we can’t know the future but we can be sure that the One who plans our paths does know the future. God's plans for you are secure and his purposes will prevail, provided you continue to seek first God's will and goodness and acknowledge him in all your ways. Acknowledge him in your relationships, your business, your ministry, your career and he will watch over his plans to fulfil them in your life. God’s plan will succeed; his purposes will prevail. No weapon fashioned against you shall triumph, and you shall refute every argument that comes against you. This is your promise from the Lord who knows the plans he has for you.

God-tracking is being sure that God’s plans will prevail

I have faith in your plans, even though I can’t see the goal from where I stand today.

“Father God, I want to literally acknowledge you in every aspect of my life. I choose to fix my eyes on Jesus and seek first your kingdom and your righteousness. Therefore, I refute every lie, every criticism and every argument that prevails against your will for my life. I do not resist the devil's schemes by my own strength, rather I stand against him in the name of Jesus and continue to walk the path you have planned for me, in faith, with my face toward your light. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS TREKKING WITH FAITH IN THE PLANS GOD KNOWS HE HAS FOR YOU

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“Place your unconditional trust squarely in the hands of your Guide and his Map and then have faith that the plans he knows he has for you, will succeed.”

Matthew 28:20
“… And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

I remember trekking a short distance across a desert with my wife, Karen on a trip to Jordan. Our tour bus had parked up at a carpark and we were required to walk the rest of the way to a desolate desert spot, chosen by our guide, to reveal what the Negev desert was really like. After walking a few minutes, we lost sight of the bus and our destination was yet unseen. Everything looked the same. From where I stood, I had 360 degrees of opportunity. The journey was tedious, uneventful and seemingly void of progress. If it weren’t for our guide and the map his hand, I fear we’d be lost in the wilderness. I had placed my trust in his hands. I needed to have faith in him as our guide, the map in his hand. And I needed to have faith in his plan to deliver us safely to our destination.

Sometimes, trekking the plans of God can lead us through a seemingly desolate wilderness: the end of an era or the start of a new career; a move away from familiar friends or social environment; an unexpected change in ministry or church life. When this happens, we lose perspective; we lose sight of the old familiar pathways whilst still out of sight of the ultimate endpoint. The truth is, once we have seen the fulfilment of one goal, we need to be prepared to leave it behind and follow our Guide and his Map until we arrive at the new yet unseen destination.

Acknowledge the Lord in all your ways and he will direct your life's track. First, look for his purposes and principles and then believe that he will add all the resources you'll ever need to achieve your goals. Place your unconditional trust squarely in the hands of your Guide and his Map and then have faith that plans he knows he has for you, will succeed.

“Dear Lord, I feel like I’m in a wilderness. There has been so much change in my life that I feel I’ve lost my way. Yet, I believe your hand is on me. I believe that these changes in my life are of you, so I commit my future to you. Help me to aim for your plans, though I can’t yet see the target. I truly acknowledge you in my work, my home life, my ministry, my relationships, my finances and my ambitions. I seek first your purposes and acknowledge you in every part of this journey. O Lord, I place my total confidence in the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the map of your word. I have faith in your plans, even though I can’t see the goal from where I stand today. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS UNSELFISHLY SERVING GOD WITH A PURE HEART

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“Dear God-tracker, may we keep our eyes on Christ and humble ourselves before God, walking in the purity of wisdom from above. May we submit to one another in reverence for the plans for God.”

Ephesians 5:21
…submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

In my 43 years’ experience of church attendance, I have yet to find a fellowship free of selfish ambition. Sadly! From an early age, I have attended churches where one or two self-motivated individuals have resisted the move of the Holy Spirit, or who have risen in retaliation against the authority of their leaders.  Inspired by the Holy Spirit James writes, “If you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.” Then he goes on to ass that godly wisdom begins with purity.

It is a sad reality that Satan’s primary goal is to undermine the plans of God for his children and the Church. One of the ways the devil does this is to stir up dissension, discord and disunity in the Body of Christ. These vices have at their root, selfish ambition, which plays out in church politics. The root of selfish ambition is the ego – the self! It’s been my experience that every church has its own band of, “I-think-we-shoulds” – untransformed self-interested people who are disgruntled with the vision and oversight of God’s delegated authority on earth.

James makes it clear that real godly wisdom (the source of vision and purpose) begins with purity. Purity always asks the question, why? What’s the motive for my decision making and what’s the motive of my opinion? Godly wisdom continues in peace, good reason, mercy, impartiality and sincerity. Avery true believer has been transformed from a life of self-interest to a life of self-sacrifice and submission. A great man who had every reason to boast was, Apostle Paul. Yet by the Holy Spirit he said, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.”

Dear God-tracker, may we keep our eyes on Christ and humble our… selves before God, walking in the purity of wisdom from above. May we submit to one another in reverence for the plans for God.

Today I ask your forgiveness for any rebellion and selfish ambition in my heart, and I commit myself to humbly serve you in my place in the body of Christ

“Dear Heavenly God, thank you for your grace and mercy that has saved me and transformed my life from a life consumed with self and selfish ambition into a life filled with love, submission and truth. Thank you that Jesus died to reconcile me to your righteousness and called me to one hope, one faith, one baptism and one Body. Today I ask your forgiveness for any rebellion and selfish ambition in my heart, and I commit myself to humbly serve you in my place in the body of Christ. Amen.”

GOD-TRACKING IS FACING YOUR BATTLES WITH AN INVISIBLE CHAMPION BY YOUR SIDE

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“The Holy Spirit has been poured out on all flesh. He is your helper; your invisible Champion by your side. The Lord is your strength and your shield. You can trust in him and be helped.

Psalm 54:4
Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.

The Philistines had massed their forces against the Israelites. Thirty thousand chariots and six thousand horsemen were encamped on high ground, while King Saul’s men hid themselves in caves and in holes in rocks. Sadly, Saul had rebelled against the prophet Samuel’s instructions and disobeyed God. For all intents and purposes, he would lose the battle that day.

Saul’s son, Jonathan, together with his armour bearer, were scouting the crags beneath the Philistine camp. “Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the Lord will work for us, for nothing can hinder the Lord from saving by many or by few,” said Jonathan. He and his armour bearer climbed up on their hands and feet to the waiting Philistine army; two against thousands. There was a panic in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The Philistine garrison and raiders trembled, the earth quaked, and there was very great hysteria. The enemy fell before Jonathan, and his armour bearer that day. The odds were greatly against Jonathan and his servant, yet they were not alone. They had an invisible Champion by their side, a Champion who helped them overcome their battle.

What battles are you facing today? Are you facing false accusations, criticisms, financial needs? If you are, then rise and climb that cliff, defy the odds and stand against your enemy. You are not alone. You have a great invisible Champion by your side. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, our Helper. The Holy Spirit has been poured out on all flesh. He is your helper; your invisible Champion by your side. The Lord is your strength and your shield. You can trust in him and be helped.

So, as I face these giants in my life, I stand firm with my Helper – my Champion – by my side

“Dear Lord, when I look at the odds stacked against me in this fight I fight, I feel helpless. Yet I know that you have called me to rise and fight the devil’s ploys. He is big, O Lord, but I know you are infinitely bigger! I do not stand against him by my strength but by yours. You, O Holy Spirit, are my Champion by my side. Greater is He who lives within me than he who lives within the world. If my God is for me, who can be against me? So, as I face these giants in my life, I stand firm with my Helper – my Champion – by my side. Amen!”

GOD-TRACKING IS BEING TRANSFORMED BY THE CROSS

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“Today – don’t delay – acknowledge that God took your sins upon the cross when he stepped down in Jesus Christ so that, by faith, you may step up through the cross and be transformed into his image from one degree of glory to another.”

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

When I was a teenager I used to love messing about with electronics. I remember building a shocking machine, for fun, out of a 1.5-volt battery and a transformer. Somehow, I managed to cause the transformer to increase the 1.5-volt DC flow to a much higher voltage which I would use to zap my friends. You see, I had succeeded in turning a step-down transformer into a step-up transformer. In so doing, I learnt that there are two types of transformers. The step-down transformer is used to transform high voltage to a low voltage while a step-up transformer is used to transform a low voltage to a high voltage.

As the Son of God, Jesus Christ is God incarnate. That is, he is the human form of the Almighty God. God’s Word became flesh in Jesus. God did this because man had fallen away from the magnificent creature that God had originally created him to be. All of us were transformed away from God’s glorious nature through sin. So, God, in his love and grace, stepped down from his glory, through Jesus, to transform us all and reconcile us again to his nature. Through the step-down transformer of the cross, God removed our sins. And that’s grace. However, good as that was, unless we respond to God’s grace and step-up to his throne, through the transformer of the cross, we will remain unchanged and lost in sin. And we step-up to the throne of grace of God in confidence by faith. We are transformed by grace through faith.

You may have been reading GodTracker for a long time but have never consciously acknowledged Jesus as your Lord and saviour. Or you may desire to not be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewal of your mind yet have never verbally confessed Jesus as Lord of your life. Today – don’t delay – acknowledge that God took your sins upon the cross when he stepped down in Jesus Christ so that, by faith, you may step up through the cross and be transformed into his image from one degree of glory to another.

God-tracking is being transformed by the cross.

I acknowledge that you stepped down through the cross of Jesus so that I could step up to your throne of grace

“Father God, I realise today that I have never actually given myself to you. I realise that I am still conformed to the old sinful nature and not transformed to your glory. Forgive me, Lord, for all my sin. I acknowledge that you stepped down through the cross of Jesus so that I could step up to your throne of grace. Come into my life as I give my life to you. GOD-TRACKING IS REMAINING HUMBLY TEACHABLE WITH A PURE HEART

The e-devotional helping to keep you on track with God’s plans for your life. GodTracker is published at http://godtracker.co.uk

“If natural wisdom is gained from applied knowledge, then knowledge needs to be gained through humble learning with pure motives. So, test everything and never be too proud to learn.”

Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

A story is told of two ducks and a frog that lived happily by a farm pond. They were very good friends and would play together every day. When the hot summer days came, however, the pond began to dry up and it was soon evident that they would need to move. This was no problem for the ducks, because they could easily fly to another pond, but the frog was stuck. He thought and thought until he came up with a plan. He suggested putting a stick between the bills of each duck which he could hang onto with his mouth as they carried him to another pond. The plan worked well--so well that as they were flying along a farmer looked up in admiration and said, "Well, isn't that a clever idea! I wonder which one of you thought to do that?" The frog proudly opened his mouth and said, "I did..."

They say pride comes before a fall. Indeed. Looking at the word “pride” I discovered a profound fact: “I” is found in the centre of “pride”. Sadly, so many of us fall from God’s designed purposes for our lives because we are so consumed by our ego – the big “I”. Unfortunately, we try to design our own world to revolve around ourselves and become egocentric instead of Christocentric. It’s only when I realise that I can do nothing of any significance by my own strength that I realise that I can only do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Dear God Tracker, one way to counteract pride in our lives is to develop a teachable spirit. You are never too old to learn. I once interviewed a man in his 70’s for one of my radio shows who was busy writing a thesis for his 9th PHD. We all desire wisdom, don’t we? I believe that natural wisdom is applied knowledge. This means that you and I can only be wise once we have learned a lesson. With understanding, experience is the best teacher. If I am willing to humbly learn by my experiences – good and bad – then I will become wise. The Bible tells us that wisdom from above begins with purity. Purity checks the motive of the heart; it always asks the question, “Why?” Jesus reminded us to have a childlike attitude. A child is always eager to learn so that he can grow up to be big and strong, like his dad.

If natural wisdom is gained from applied knowledge, then knowledge needs to be gained through humble learning with pure motives. So, test everything and never be too proud to learn.

God-tracking is remaining humbly teachable with a pure heart

Help me to not lean on my own understanding but to walk by your wisdom

“O Lord I apologise for always relying on my own strength for wisdom. I realise that true godly wisdom can only come through life’s lessons with the Holy Spirit as my teacher. So, I submit myself to your lessons in life, O Lord. I repent of ego and humble myself before you. I make a decision to always retain a teachable spirit. Teach me your will; guide me in your righteousness and help me to keep my motives pure in every decision I make in life. Help me to not lean on my own understanding but to walk by your wisdom.
